청소년의 우울과 자아존중감의 자기회귀교차지연 효과검증 -성별간 다집단 분석을 중심으로- = Abstracts : The Longitudinal Relationship between Depression and Self-esteem in Adolescents Adapting the Autoregressive Cross-lagged Model

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to verify the causal relationship between depression and self-esteem among the adolescents. The 4-year longitudinal data collected from 2nd grad middle school student by the Korean Youth Panel study was used in this study. From the analysis result using the Autoregressive Cross-Lagged Model, the depression and self-esteem in adolescents were continued from middle school 2nd grade to high school 2nd grade in significant stability. In addition, the previous self-esteem turned out to have significant negative effect on the later period depression. The other hand, the previous depression had significant effect on the later self-esteem, but the direction was positive. This means that the adolescents` self-esteem increases as their depression decreases, but as the depression increases, the later self-esteem of the adolescents increases. There were no difference between girls and boys within the relationship of these two variables. Finally, the implication derived from the results, the limitation of this study, and suggestion for following studies were presented.
