청소년영화 속 여성캐릭터 연구 -2010년대 청소년제작영화를 중심으로 = The Study of Female Characters In Youth-made Films -Focusing On Youth-made Films In 2010's

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this research, the female characters' changes and reasons will be considered, focusing on the prize-winning works of the 2010's Youth Film Festival. In recent youth films, female characters who show depth of inner aspect, apart from the simple and monolithic external character of the past, appeared through the description of personality, giving recognition to their own femininity. Here, the types of female characters were considered with the division into its concern of the female body, ‘the communicative we’, and its ‘reflective solidarity’ through the feminism theologist's views such as Luce Irigaray, Hélène Cixous and Jodi Dean etc. While these female characters boldly expose their own bodies, free from the male's eyes, they inquire others' honest opinions. Also, they were changed into the active character, recognizing the difference from others and hoping for solidarity of women through communication.
This change is related to the social change. Korean feminism tore down the staunch wall of our society and featured various practical movement about ‘woman’. This led to the argument of feminism and it underwent the rough and rugged process of justification from inside. Also, the youth’s parents show differentiated feature in family with the change of awareness and under this influence the creators, the youth, constructed Youth-made films and female characters which are different from those of past. However, all of these reasons can be gathered as ‘culture’. As Williams mentioned, culture is the process as well as trace of life. According to the universal value of human beings trying to improve the life with goodness, society is improved, culture is flourishing, and these cultural traces in Youth-film will appear in continuous and various features.
