실존주의상담의 철학적 가치관이 상담자의 자기인식 및 상담과정에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Philosophical Values of Existential Counseling on the Counseling Process and Counselors` Self-Awareness

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the effects of philosophical values of existential counseling on the counseling process and on counselors` self-awareness. This study included 17 individuals deeply interested in professional existential counseling. Participants were doctoral candidate students taking a 14-week seminar and workshop training series with backgrounds of various skills levels and a wide range of experiences. Based on a qualitative framework, Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR), the following three domains emerged based on the results: awareness, experience, and changes. In the awareness area, there were 4 categories and 14 subcategories. In the experience area, there were 4 categories and 13 subcategories. And finally, in the area of changes, 4 categories and 18 subcategories emerged.
Results revealed that the participants who were aware of philosophical values of existential counseling experienced changes in their personal life as well to their role as a counselor. The counselors were able to expand their awareness of values in existential counseling and build in-depth relationships with their clients in the counseling setting through facing their existential real self. These factors were able to help develop the counselors` in-depth empathy towards their clients and also enhance their intersubjective relationships.
