지적장애자녀를 둔 부모의 양육부담이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에 대한 가족탄력성의 매개효과 = Mediating Effect of Family Resilience on the Impact of Parenting Burden of Parents with Children with Intellectual Disability on the Quality of Life

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to identify the mediating effect of family resilience on the impact of parenting burden of parents with children with intellectual disability on the quality of life. To this end, a survey was conducted in 142 parents with children with intellectual disability attending special-education school and special classes in region D, K, and S from Mar. 15, 2016 to Apr. 21, 2016. Among which, copies of questionnaire for 136 parents excluding the data for 6 parents who were considered as unfaithful or irresponsive were finally analyzed as object of our final study. The data collected were analyzed by using SPSS / Win 20.0 and our study findings are as follows: First, as a result of analyzing the correlation between variables, it was found that children age has a statistically significant static correlation with child-fostering burden. It was also found that the higher the parenting burden of parents who have children with intellectual disability, the lower their family resilience is. Second, the parenting burden of parents with children with intellectual disability had a significant impact on family resilience and parents`` parenting burden had a significant impact on quality of life. Also, family resilience recognized by parents with children with intellectual disability had a significant mediating effect in relation to the impact of parent``s parenting burden on quality of life. Based on these findings, therefore, practical intervention plans for developing education and programs to alleviate the parenting burden of the parents with children with intellectual ability and improving their quality of life were discussed.
