청소년 부적응행동과 자아존중감의 관련성 재조명 = Re-exploration on the relationship between self-esteem and adolescents' maladjusted behaviors

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study the relationship between adolescents' maladjusted behaviors and self-esteem was explored. In results, it was found that low level of self-esteem was significantly related with adolescents' school maladjustment or academic problems, alcohol or substance abuse, sexual problems, depression or suicidal thinking, or difficulties in social relations. It was, however, revealed that conclusion on these findings needs to be reserved. It's not only because a plenty of studies showed that the relationship between low level of self-esteem and maladjusted behaviors of adolescents was not so strong, but also because the degree of influence of self-esteem on maladjusted behavior was intervened by other individual and psychological factors. Regarding with these factors, it was revealed that, as intervening or mediated factors, sub-factors of both maladjusted behaviors and self-esteem, socioeconomic factors, social support, family factors, current roles, and level of severity of maladjusted behavior of adolescents were included.
