경찰관의 외상 후 스트레스와 우울, 불안의 관계에서 탄력성의 조절효과 = Relationships Among Post-Traumatic Stress, Depression, and Anxiety in Police Officers: Moderating Effects of Resilience

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effect of resilience on the relationship among post-traumatic stress, depression and anxiety level of police officers. For this purpose, Post-traumatic stress scale(IES-R-K), Depression Scale(BDI), Anxiety Scale(BAI), and Resilience Test (K-CD-RISC) were administered to 445 police officers working in various departments across the country. The results of the t-test, Pearson’s simple correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 were obtained as follows. First, post-traumatic stress and depression were positively correlated. Second, post-traumatic stress and anxiety were also positively correlated. Third, resilience showed the moderating effects of controlling depression and anxiety. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop a counseling program to cope with the post-traumatic stress of police officers exposed to various traumatic events in order to improve their resilience to reduce depression and anxiety level caused by post-traumatic stress. Finally, this study was limited due to lack of precedent researches on resilience of police officers. Follow-up studies on the resilience of police officers were suggested.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 경찰관의 외상 후 스트레스와 우울 및 불안의 관계에서 탄력성의 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 각 지역의 다양한 부서에 근무하고 있는 경찰관 445명을 대상으로 외상 후 스트레스 척도(IES-R-K), 우울척도(BDI), 불안척도(BAI), 탄력성 검사(K-CD-RISC)를 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 검증하기 위해서 SPSS 21.0을 사용하여 t검증, 피어슨의 단순상관분석, 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실행 하였고, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외상 후 스트레스와 우울은 정적상관이 있었다. 둘째, 외상 후 스트레스와 불안도 정적상관이 있었다. 셋째, 외상 후 스트레스와 우울과 불안의 관계에서 탄력성이 조절효과가 있음이 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 직무 집행 상 여러 가지 외상사건에 노출되어 있는 경찰관들의 외상 후 스트레스를 잘 극복하고 외상 후 스트레스로 인하여 발생하는 우울과 불안 수준을 감소시키기 위해 탄력성 증진을 위한 상담 프로그램 개발이 필요하다는 것을 시사했다. 끝으로 본 연구는 경찰관을 대상으로 진행된 탄력성에 대한 선행 연구가 부족하여 논의를 하는데 제한이 있었다. 이에 경찰관을 대상으로 탄력성에 대한 후속 연구들이 진행되기를 제언한다.
