Purpose: The purpose of a this study were to analyze relationships of resilience, stress and self care of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
Methods: This study design was s descriptive research design.
To do this, data have been collected from 119 cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at the S Hospital in Changwon city from January 30, 2012 to April 7, 2012. Measuring instruments used were Wagnild & Young's Resilience Scale(1993), Do's Stress Scale(2008) and Jang's Self-Care Scale(2004). To analyze the data frequency and percentage, average and standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson correlation coefficient with the SPSS 12.0 program was used to analyze.
Results: The result of this study can be summarized as follows.
    1. The average of subject's resilience degree was 3.43, stress degree was 2.82, self-care degree was 3.90.
    2. Resilience showed significant difference in job(F=7.887, p=.006), treatment cost(F=7.256, p=.008).
    3. Stress showed significant difference in duration after cancer diagnosis(F=5.543, p=.020), chemotherapy cycle(F=6.326, p=.013), duration chemotherapy(F=12.439, p=.001), feel the symptom of present(F=6.326, p=.013).
    4. Self-care showed significant difference in monthly income(F=4.045, p=.047).
    5. The correlation of subject's resilience, stress and self care degree showed negative correlations between resilience and stress(r=-.193, p=.035), positive correlations between resilience and self care(r=.455, p=.000).
Conclusion: The result of this study cancer patients receiving chemotherapy to improve resilience make to reduce stress and to promote self care. So, We have to improve resilience of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
