The common charateristcs of both are about one's death, birth, six animals's death and birth, menstruation, meat-eating. In conclusion, while 'Kegare' in the Heian period disappears when its term is over, 'Kegare' in the Old Testament does not disappear without purification.
Bunyan's Pigrim's Progress begins in the following way: "as I walked through the wilderness of this world, I lighted on a certain place where there was a den, and I laid me down in that place to sleep; and as I slept I dreamed a dream." In the dream, he sees a poverty-stricken man with a Bible in his hand-that man is himself. In the midst of crying and trembling, he flips through the tattered pages of the Holy Scripture, expressing: "What shall I do?" He is absolutely convinced that the City of Destruction -- his hometown -- is going to be burned with searing fire from heaven for its many corruptions and offenses
