Parameter Optimization of Micromilling Brass Mold Inserts for Microchannels with Taguchi Method
Pin-Chuan Chen,Yu-Chieh Chen,Chang-Wei Pan,Kuan-Ming Li 한국정밀공학회 2015 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
Achieving excellent quality of micromilled surfaces usually requires additional efforts and cost, and Taguchi methodology is anefficient tool in the parameter optimization process. The aim of this study is to explore the optimal cutting parameters for minimalsurface roughness of a micromilled brass mold inset, and the controlling parameters included coolant, spindle speed, feed rate, depthof cut, and the stepover. An orthogonal array and factor analysis were carried out to identify the optimal cutting combination, andthis combination included air coolant, spindle speed of 45,000 rpm, feed rate of 100 mm/min, stepover of 10% of milling bit diameter, and the depth of cut of 5 μm. To further confirm the analysis, multiple confirmation runs were realized and the averagely measuredsurface roughness was 0.03 μm with a stand deviation of 0.004 μm.
The Feasibility of Establishing Color Imagery Scales for Various Constructional Landscapes
Wen-Guey Kuo,Yu-Pin Li,Yuh-Chang Wei,Chih-Wen Cheng,Wei-Min Fu 한국색채학회 2017 AIC 2017 Jeju Vol.2017 No.10
A methodology of quantifying the environmental color imagery of color images of constructional landscapes individually was created in this study based on the new color imagery scales designed with combining a modified psychophysical method, Magnitude Estimation Method celebrated in the field of color science and the semantic differential method proposed by Osgood. The color imageries of the cumulated constructional landscape-image samples respectively were further estimated under a conditioned room using the creative experimental methodology. Meanwhile, a set of new environmental color imagery scales LEB were derived from the experimental results, and would be expected to raise the feasibility of computerized prediction in color imagery for the practical environment at speed during the field trial in the near future.

Tourist arrivals represent popularity of a recreation site. However it could be changed due to accessibility, weather, and natural disaster. These factors are complex and their effects on tourist arrival are mixed. This study applies switching regression approach to assess impact of natural disasters on tourist arrivals in the popular forest recreation and education site, Xitou Nature Education Area (XNEA), Taiwan. Natural disaster in a tourist destination cause environmental changes which impact short- and long-term changes on tourist arrivals. Precisely estimating the impacts on tourist arrivals could therefore provide an insight to management. The results show that (1) Typhoon Herb reduced tourist arrivals by an estimated 530 thousand over three years; (2) the Chichi earthquake caused a 2.59 million loss in tourist arrivals over seven years; (3) Typhoons Toraji and Nari resulted in a 360 thousand reduction in tourist arrivals over three years; and (4) Typhoon Mindulle reduced tourist arrivals by 80 thousand over a one-year period.
