Mechanical and antibacterial properties of resin co-filled with mesoporous silica and graphene quantum dots

        Lu Shuxin,Zhang Hongyu,Chai Maozhou,Yao Xiaohong,Zhang Xiangyu,Yang Yongqiang 한국탄소학회 2023 Carbon Letters Vol.33 No.2

Poor mechanical properties and bacterial infection are the main problems faced by dental restorative resins in clinical use. In this study, graphene quantum dots (GQDs) grafted with imidazole groups and mesoporous silica (MSN) are co-filled in a dental resin to impart excellent antimicrobial activity and mechanical properties to the dental resin. The higher specific surface area of GQDs and MSN results in an increased contact area with the resin matrix, which enhances the strength of the dental composite resin. The introduction of GQDs significantly improves the antimicrobial activity of the resin. The inhibition efficiency of the composite resin against Streptococcus mutans reached 99.9% with the addition of GQDs at only 0.2 wt.%. When MSN and GQDs are co-filled, MSN interferes with the release of GQDs, thus reducing the antimicrobial activity of the dental resin but improving the cyto-compatibility. By reasonably adjusting the amount of GQDs and MSN, the dental composite resin can exhibit excellent antimicrobial properties, mechanical properties and cyto-compatibility at the same time.

Extending the response spectrum of organic photodetectors by quaternary active layer method with complementary absorption spectra

        Tao An,Yongqiang Wang,Gang Lu,Jun Zhang 한국물리학회 2020 Current Applied Physics Vol.20 No.1

In this work, we report a new method for extending the response spectra of organic photodetectors (OPDs) by incorporating PBDT-TT-C and PBDT-TT-F in the P3HT:PC61BM. The effects of PBDT-TT-C and PBDT-TT-F incorporation on the optical and electrical properties of OPDs were investigated, It was found that when the mass ratio of P3HT:PBDT-TT-F:PBDT-TT-C:PC61BM was 12:2:2:8, the response spectrum of the active layer was extended to 780 nm. The responsivity (R) and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of the OPDs reached 340, 376, 315 mA/W and 67%, 88%, 85% under 630, 530, and 460 nm illumination and −1 V bias, respectively, and the detectivity (D*) reached 1012 Jones. The results show that the inclusion of an appropriate amount of donor material with similar chemical structure and complementary absorption spectrum can reduce the influence of the doping material on the micro-morphology of the original film while improving the absorption of the spectrum. The interaction between the donor materials promotes the generation of photogenerated carriers and increases the photocurrent of the OPDs. In addition, the incorporation of the different component promotes crystallization of the film, resulting in a reduction in dark current of the OPDs.

Development and validation of reactor nuclear design code CORCA-3D

        Ping An,Yongqiang Ma,Peng Xiao,Fengchen Guo,Wei Lu,Xiaoming Chai 한국원자력학회 2019 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.51 No.7

The advanced node core code CORCA-3D is one of the independent developed codes of NPIC for the nuclear reactor core design. CORCA-3D code can calculate the few-group cross section, solve the 3D diffusion equations, consider the thermal-hydraulic feedback, reconstruct the pin-by-pin power. It has lots of functions such as changing core status calculation, critical searching, control rod value calculation, coefficient calculation and so on. The main theory and functions of CORCA-3D code are introduced and validated with a lot of reactor measured data and the SCIENCE system. Now, CORCA-3D code has been applied in ACP type reactor nuclear cores design.

Molten Salt Synthesis of Strontium-Doped Lanthanum Manganite Nanoparticles with Enhanced Catalytic Performance for Toluene Combustion

        Yingliang Tian,Wencai Liu,Yongqiang Lu,Shibing Sun 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2016 NANO Vol.11 No.5

La1-xSrxMnO3-α(LSMO) and LaMnO3+α(LMO) nanoparticle catalysts have been synthesized via a one-step molten salt route. It was found that the partial substitution of lanthanum by strontium had a promoting effect on the catalytic performance for toluene oxidation. Under the condition of toluene concentration=1000 ppm, toluene/O2 molar ratio=1/200 and the space velocity=20000 mL/(g h), the temperature required for 50% and 90% toluene combustion conversion was 150℃ and 205℃ over LSMO catalyst, respectively. It is concluded that the oxygen vacancy, the molar ratio Mn4+/Mn3+ on the surface and the specific surface area contribute to the improved catalytic performance of the LSMO nanoparticle materials via a one-step molten salt method.

Effects of heat stress on body temperature, milk production, and reproduction in dairy cows: a novel idea for monitoring and evaluation of heat stress — A review

        Jiangjing Liu,Lanqi Li,Xiaoli Chen,Yongqiang Lu,DONG WANG 아세아·태평양축산학회 2019 Animal Bioscience Vol.32 No.9

Heat stress exerts a substantial effect on dairy production. The temperature and humidity index (THI) is widely used to assess heat stress in dairy operations. Herein, we review the effects of high temperature and humidity on body temperature, feed intake, milk production, follicle development, estrous behavior, and pregnancy in dairy cows. Analyses of the effects of THI on dairy production have shown that body temperature is an important physiological parameter in the evaluation of the health state of dairy cows. Although THI is an important environmental index and can help to infer the degree of heat stress, it does not reflect the physiological changes experienced by dairy cows undergoing heat stress. However, the simultaneous measurement of THI and physiological indexes (e.g., body temperature) would be very useful for improving dairy production. The successful development of automatic detection techniques makes it possible to combine THI with other physiological indexes (i.e., body temperature and activity), which could help us to comprehensively evaluate heat stress in dairy cows and provide important technical support to effectively prevent heat stress.
