The one of important issues for the success ofwearable computer is developing its killerapplications. An application of user created content(UCC) in Ubiquitous Fashionable Computer (UFC)[1], introduced in this paper, is an efficient anduseful tool to create and manage user's multimediacontent. The UFC includes a gesture-based userinterface called iThrow. By using this device, userscan control UFC easily and intuitively. The scenarioof our UCC in the UFC is as follows. First a usercaptures an image by using the camera attached inthe UFC. For editing the captured image, the usersend it to a near kiosk by taking throwing action tothe kiosk, and then the image is displayed in thekiosk. The user can edit the image such as rotationor adjusting picture size, brightness, and contrastby taking various intuitive hand-gestures. Afterediting, if the user takes the throwing action again,the final image is uploaded and registered in hisblog automatically.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical spectrum of posttransplantation lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) after solid organ transplantation (SOT) in children. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 18 patients with PTLD who underwent liver (LT) or kidney transplantation (KT) between January 1995 and December 2014 in Seoul National University Children's Hospital. Results: Eighteen patients (3.9% of pediatric SOTs; LT:KT, 11:7; male to female, 9:9) were diagnosed as having PTLD over the last 2 decades (4.8% for LT and 2.9% for KT). PTLD usually presented with fever or gastrointestinal symptoms in a median period of 7 months after SOT. Eight cases had malignant lesions, and all the patients except one had evidence of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) involvement, assessed by using in situ hybridization of tumor tissue or EBV viral load quantitation of blood. Remission was achieved in all patients with reduction of immunosuppression and/or rituximab therapy or chemotherapy, although 1 patient had allograft kidney loss and another died from complications of chemotherapy. The first case of PTLD was encountered after the introduction of tacrolimus for pediatric SOT in 2003. The recent increase in PTLD incidence in KT coincided with modification of clinical practice since 2012 to increase the tacrolimus trough level. Conclusion: While the outcome was favorable in that all patients achieved complete remission, some patients still had allograft loss or mortality. To prevent PTLD and improve its outcome, monitoring for EBV infection is essential, which would lead to appropriate modification of immunosuppression and enhanced surveillance for PTLD.

Background & Aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is closely related to metabolic syndrome and obesity which are associated with an increased cancer risk. In this study, we investigated the association between NAFLD and prostate cancer biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy using imaging modalities. Methods: In total, consecutive 312 prostate cancer patients who underwent radical prostatectomy between 2005 and 2008 in Seoul National University Hospital (Seoul, Korea) were included in this study. The presence of NAFLD, body mass index (BMI), prediagnostic prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and pathologic findings including Gleason score were analyzed with regard to their associations with BCR. NAFLD was diagnosed based on clinical information and ultrasonography or non-contrast CT images. BCR-free survival rates were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Results: A total of 222 patients were analyzed after 90 patients were excluded. We excluded patients with double primary cancers or evidence of liver disease of other etiologies including viral hepatitis, and patients who were treated with neoadjuvant hormone therapy or who failed to achieve PSA nadir < 0.1 ng/ mL. During a median follow-up period of 54 (range, 51-57) months, 45 (20.3%) patients developed BCR. Patients with NAFLD showed significantly better BCR-free survival (P=0.001 by log rank test), while patients grouped according to BMI failed to show any statistical significance (P=0.861). In the multivariate analysis, the presence of NAFLD (hazard ratio [HR], 0.25; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.08-0.76; P=0.014) and pathological Gleason score (compared to <7, 7: HR, 2.69; 95% CI, 0.92-7.87, >7: HR, 6.02; 95% CI, 1.42-25.52; P=0.049) were independent predictive factors of BCR. Conclusions: Unexpectedly, the results of our study have shown that NAFLD may play a protective role against BCR after radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. It is warranted to elucidate the mechanism of protective effect, such as the change in male hormone level, in patients with NAFLD.
Shape-Dependent Charge Transfers in Crystalline ZnO Photocatalysts: Rods versus Plates

<P>ZnO particles with rod and plate configurations were synthesized using a solvothermal method using zinc acetate and zinc chloride, respectively. The surface of the as-synthesized ZnO rods and plates were characterized using various analysis tools (XRD, XPS, photoluminescence, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, BET, and UV–vis) and their photocatalytic activities were examined for six different redox reactions. The surface areas and bandgaps of the two ZnO samples were nearly identical; however, XPS and photoluminescence (PL) studies showed that the rods and the plates have relatively pronounced oxygen vacancy and oxygen interstitial contributions, respectively. ZnO rods were found to be active for the decomposition of methylene blue and phenol, the production of OH radicals, and the generation of photocurrents, all of which are associated with single-electron transfer reactions. On the other hand, ZnO plates were more effective for the production of molecular hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide, both of which are initiated by two-electron transfer reactions. Background: We assessed baseline and on-treatment variables to determine predictive factors of the complete virologic response in naive chronic hepatitis B patients with entecavir therapy. Methods: A total of 261 naive chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients treated with entecavir (0.5 mg daily) for at least 12 weeks were enrolled. The complete virologic response was defi ned as the absence of serum HBV-DNA by PCR assay (<20 IU/ml) on 2 consecutive measurement at 48week. Compliance with therapy was assessed whenpatients visit the outpatient clinic and phone calls. The medication adherence was more than 80% of all patients.Results: Finally, 98 patients were treated with entecavir for 96 weeks. And 151 patients were treated with entecavir for 48weeks. The mean follow-up duration was 20 ± 16.5 months. The complete virologic response at 48weeks was 67.5%. The cumulative rates of the virologic response at 12, 24, 48, and 96 weeks were 17.2%, 46.0%, 67.6%, and 71.4%, respectively. An absence of HBeAg and high DNA level at baseline were signifi cant predictors of the complete virologic response at 48 weeks in a univariate analysis (p<0.001, p=0.02). An absence of HBeAg at baseline was signifi cant predictor of the complete virologic response at 48weeks in a multivariate analysis (p<0.001). Also aminotransferase level was signifi cant predictor of the complete virologic response at 48 weeks in HBeAg positive patients (p<0.05). Conclusions: Our data showed a good complete virologic response (67.5%) in naiveCHB patients with entecavir therapy. Additionally, the predictor of the complete virologic response was an absence of HBeAg. Also, aminotransferase level can be used for predictor of the complete virologic response in HBeAg positive patients.

Aims: Patient of liver cirrhosis have an increased risk of in-hospital mortality after surgery. However, large-scale studies on the prognosis after surgery in these patients are lacking. This study investigated the in-hospital mortality after surgery in patients with liver cirrhosis in current 5 years. Methods: We used the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service-National Patient Samples (HIRA-NPS) between 2012 and 2016. In-hospital mortality and hospital stay were analyzed using the data. Mortality rates according to the surgical department were also analyzed. Results: Of the 1,662,887 patients who underwent surgery, 16,174 patients (1.0%) patients had cirrhosis. In-hospital mortality was significantly higher in patients with cirrhosis than without cirrhosis (8.0% vs. 1.0%). In addition, total hospitalization period (22.6 days vs. 10.2 days) and use of intensive care unit (24.3% vs. 4.8%) were significantly higher in patients with liver cirrhosis. In-hospital mortality after surgery in cirrhotic patients was highest in the otorhinolaryngology surgery (15.7%), followed by neurosurgery (14.8%), thoracic and cardiovascular surgery (13.2%) and plastic surgery (10.2%) compared to the patients without cirrhosis. Conclusions: Patients with cirrhosis have a significantly higher risk of in-hospital mortality after surgery. A new predictive scoring system for predicting postoperative mortality in these patients is needed.

<P>Joint source-channel coding (JSCC) is a method to jointly allocate the given total transmission bitrate to the source coding and channel coding to maximize the video quality at the receiving end. In this paper, we propose a practical model for efficiently determining a near-optimal code rate for JSCC in real-time video communications. The conventional code rate decision schemes using analytical source coding distortion model and channel-induced distortion model are usually complex, and typically employ the process of model parameter training which involves potentially high computational complexity and implementation cost. To avoid the complex modeling procedure, we introduce a very simple video quality model based on the playable bitrate which is defined as the total bit amount per unit time that is not affected by the channel loss during transmission including correctly recovered bits by the channel decoder. Because the video quality at the receiving end is clearly commensurate with the playable bitrate, we can easily determine the quality-oriented near-optimal code rate by finding the code rate that maximizes the playable bitrate at the sender side. The proposed playable bitrate model is very simple because it does not require the complex training procedure for obtaining model parameters, which is usually required in the conventional code rate decision method. It is shown by simulations that the proposed code rate decision scheme based on the playable bitrate model can efficiently determine the near-optimal code rate for JSCC in terms of high accuracy on the optimal code rate.</P>

Topic Signature와 동시 출현 단어 쌍을 이용한 문서 범주화

본 논문에서는 문서 내에서 동시에 출현하는 단어 쌍을 자질 추출 단위로 하는 문서 범주화 시스템에 대하여 기술한다. 자질 추출 단위를 단어 쌍으로 정의한 것은 문서에서 빈번하게 동시에 출현하는 단어들은 서로 연관관계가 높으며, 단어 하나보다는 연관관계가 높은 단어들의 쌍이 특정 범주의 문서에서만 나타날 확률이 높아지므로 문서 분류 능력을 높이는데 좋은 요인으로 작용할 수 있을 것이라는 가정 때문이다. 그리고 문서 요약 분야에서 제안된 Log-likelihood Ratio를 기반으로 하는 Topic Signature Term Extraction 방법을 사용하여 자질 추출을 하고, Na?ve Bayes 분류기를 이용하여 문서를 분류한다. 본 연구는 Reuters-21578 문서 집합을 이용한 성능평가에서 좋은 결과를 보였으며, 이는 앞으로의 연구에도 기여할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
