        미디어 기업의 광고가 구독료에 미치는 효과: 이론적 분석

        본 논문은 양면시장이론을 이용하여 과점시장에서 미디어 기업의 광고가 구독료에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 광고주는 구독자를 많이 확보한 미디어 기업을 선호한다. 광고가 많은 미디어 기업은 더 높은 이윤으로 더 좋은 콘텐츠를 제작하므로 더 많은 구독자를 유치하고 구독료를 인하할 유인이 존재한다. 본 연구는 세 가지 모형을 고려하였다. 1) 기본모형은 과점시장에서 구독자는 수평차별화, 광고주는 수직차별화에서 모두 싱글호밍하며, 균형 구독료를 도출하여 광고가 없는 경우와 비교한다. 2) 두 번째 모형은 광고주와 구독자가 모두 수평차별화에서 싱글호밍 하는 경우이다. 3) 세 번째 모형은 광고주와 구독자 모두 수평차별화에서 광고주는 멀티호밍, 구독자는 싱글호밍한 경우이다. 광고 선호 구독자 비율, 광고 선호 모수, 교차망외부성 효과 등에 의해서 구독료는 광고가 없는 경우보다 더 높아질 수도 낮아질 수도 있음을 보인다. This paper investigates the effects of advertising on the price of newspapers by utilizing a theory of two-sided markets. The printed media firms as platforms, intermediating readers and advertisers, may subsidize readers` price of newspapers. The first model with readers horizontally differentiated and advertisers vertically differentiated analyzes under what condition readers` price of newspapers is lowered. In the second model both advertisers and readers are horizontally differentiated. Two groups are assumed to be single-homed. The third model adapts the second one allowing advertisers to be multi-homed. We show whether the price of newspapers is lowered because of advertising depends upon the various factors such as the readership`s attitude toward advertising and the proportion of advertising-avoiders, and cross-network externalities. One result in this paper is comparable with the competitive bottlenecks, a stylized representation under multi-homing.

        Multivariate analysis of original identification and chemical markers exploration of Chinese ginger

        Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is one of the most widely consumed dietary supplements. However, the content of active ingredients varied greatly from place to place. In this study, we first identified and compared the compositions of ginger samples from six different origins. Then, we evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity of different samples in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The results indicated that highly variable in chemical composition and activity for ginger from different origin. Further, correlation analysis showed that isoborneol, terpineol, α-curcumene, germacrene D, α-elemol and 8-shogaol exhibited a strong correlation with inflammatory factors, which could be used as potential chemical markers to evaluate quality and distinguish source of ginger. Finally, comprehensive evaluation found that the ginger from Sichuan exerts stronger anti-inflammatory properties. This study will help to select ginger varieties with excellent characteristics, provide theoretical basis for the development and utilization of ginger.

        Knee Defect Reconstruction Using the Distally Based Anterolateral Thigh Flap Based on the Reverse Flow from the Oblique Branch of the Lateral Circumflex Femoral Artery

        Reconstruction of soft tissue defects around the knee is challenging, and the most common solution is to use various locoregional flaps or, in some difficult cases, a free flap. The distally based anterolateral thigh (dALT) flap is a commonly used flap that relies on reverse blood flow from the descending branch of the lateral circumflex femoral artery (d-LCFA). Here, we present the case of an anteromedial knee reconstruction using a dALT flap after resection of a pleomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma. The tumor resection resulted in a 147 cm defect, and a dALT flap, measuring 208 cm was elevated. During the surgery, we found a robust oblique branch of the LCFA (o-LCFA) sending off two sizable perforators to the anterolateral thigh region, whereas the d-LCFA was relatively small with no usable perforators. Therefore, we harvested a dALT flap relying on reverse flow from the o-LCFA. The patient’s postoperative course was uneventful, and the flap survived without complications. This report demonstrates that reverse flow from the o-LCFA may be an alternative to nourish a dALT flap in cases where the d-LCFA is hypoplastic or suitable perforators from the d-LCFA are unavailable.

        Contact toxicity of a new acaricide, SYP-9625, to the natural predator, Chrysopa pallens

        SYP-9625 is a novel acaricide synthesized by using cyenopyrafen as lead compound. It is characterized by high acaricidal activity and low toxicity to mammals and has been widely used in Chinese farming areas. However, to date, the toxicity of SYP-9625 to natural enemy insects remained unclear. Here, we evaluated the effects of SYP-9625 on survival, growth, metamorphosis and reproduction of a common natural predator, Chrysopa pallens. Contact toxicity bioassay revealed that SYP-9625 had no significant detrimental impacts on egg hatchability, larval survival and duration, pupation rate, pupal mass, emergence rate, digestive enzyme activity, reproductive output and offspring quality, but drastically reduced adult survival rate, adult lifespan, secondary follicle size and vitellogenin (Vg) transcripts by 27.8%, 15.4%, 33.4% and 59.4%, respectively, suggesting a low contact toxicity of SYP-9625 to C. pallens. This study will strengthen the compatibility of chemical acaricide and natural enemy insects in integrated pest management.

      • Mass production and application of natural enemy insects in China

        Natural enemy insects, including predators and parasitoids, are beneficial organisms that feed upon other agricultural pests. Using natural enemy insects to suppress or prevent outbreak of pests is a key component of integrated pest management strategy. It is safe, effective, and environmentally friendly and can be applied easily to the greenhouses, filed crops and orchards. Rearing and application of natural enemy insects in biocontrol in China have a long history. As early as 1700 years ago, the predator Oecophylla smaragdina has been used for controlling many kinds of citrus pests. Up to now, more than 30 species of natural enemies that can be artificially mass produced and widely used for biological control of many kinds of pests, including caterpillars, aphids, whiteflies, thrips, leaf mites and scales in China. The annual average application area of natural enemies is over 11.34 million hectares. However, with the increasing demand of using natural enemies in biological control programs, the development of natural enemy insect industrialization still face many challenges. It is urgent to explore more effective candidate natural enemies, improve the production efficiency, increase the shelf life of products and enhance the colonization of natural enemy insects after release, and thus facilitate the commercially production and application of natural enemies. This is of great significance for comprehensively promoting the use of green prevention and control techniques for crop diseases and pests, reducing the use of chemical pesticides, ensuing the quality and safety of food and agricultural products, and ultimately promoting sustainable agricultural development.
