        レル敬語の用法擴大に關する硏究

        I wrote this report about the actual use of the reru honorific in Tokyo after confirmation of the use expansion of the reru honorific due to historic change from a precedent study about the expanded usage of the reru honorific. Because reru honorific expanded usage begins by a use of "レテクダサイ(retekudasai)" from the survey site, I confirm a function of "てください(tekudasai)" and confirm it which function use begins from. In this research, a survey was given to a number of Japanese office workers on their "experience" aspect and a study was done to see how much "レル(reru) honorific" is being used in the following: 1) "レル(reru) honorific" in "~てください (tekudasai)," 2) "レル(reru) honorific" in the possessor honorific, 3) "申される (mousareru)," the レル(reru) honorific in the kenjogo (humble language), and 4) "レル(reru) honorific" in the niju-keigo (double honorific). First, the degree of experience of "レテクダサイ(retekudasai)" showed over 1.0, used primarily when saying "please read later" and "please talk with the experts." Many office workers seemed to experience the usage as an "order or an instruction." Secondly, as for the "レル(reru) honorific" of the possessor honorific, the expressions "he/she has something he/she wants to carry around" and "(a thing) has become a part of his/her body" showed low degree. The degree of experience of "arareru" was higher than "narareteiru," but many office workers seemed to be considering these two phrases "confusing." Third, the degree of experience of "申さ れる(mousareru)" which is the レル(reru) honorific in the humble language was over 1.0. This was much higher than the degree of "レテクダサイ(retekudasai)" or the respectful language towards our possessions. Then, as for the degree of experience of the use of レル(reru) honorific in the nijuu-keigo (double honorific), "he/she understands" (in the meaning of respect) and "he/she is preparing for..." (in the meaning of respect) showed high degree, both showing over 1.0. Especially, the number of students accepting the レル(reru) honorific when saying "he/she understands" was twice the amount of students who thought it as "confusing." These results showed progress in the experience of these honorific phrases. Finally, I confirm "difference of Man and woman", and "difference of age". I intersected and analyzed it next, as a result, as for "the experience degree" of "レテク ダサイ(retekudasai)", "woman" "30 generations" were high. "Even an "possessor honorific" "nijuu-keigo (double honorific)" "レル(reru) honorific in the humble language" except it understood a high thing in young generations to "be in its 30s" in "men".

        The study on change of mechanical properties of NBR due to deterioration

        Rubber is an important industrial material. However, mechanical properties and deformation of the high polymer including rubber are not clear. A method of estimating the mechanical properties which can be used for the deteriorated rubber is demanded to improve the reliability of it. Improved VBO (Viscoplasticity theory based on overstress) model is a constitutive equation. We applied it for the compression stress-strain behavior of deteriorated NBR (acryloNitrile-Butadiene rubber). Furthermore, we proposed a method of estimating the mechanical properties of deteriorated NBR. In this paper, deterioration tests in water and in air were conducted. To confirm the validity of the proposed improved VBO model and estimated mechanical properties, simulations of the stress-strain curves obtained in the tests were conducted.

      • An Electrochemical Approach for Fabricating Organic Thin Film Photoelectrodes Consisting of Gold Nanoparticles and Polythiophene

        A novel method of fabricating polythiophene-gold nanoparticle composite film electrodes for photoelectric conversion is demonstrated. The method includes electrodeposition of gold and electropolymerization of 2,2'-bithiophene onto an indium-tin-oxide (ITO) electrode. First, electrodeposition of gold onto the ITO electrode was carried out with various repetition times of pulsed applied potential (0.25 s at -2.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl) in an aqueous solution of $HAuCl_4$. Significant progress of the number density of deposited gold nanoparticles was confirmed from scanning electron micrographs, from 4 (1 time) to 25% (15 times). Next, electropolymerization of 2,2'-bithiophene onto the above ITO electrode was performed under controlled charge condition (+1.4 V vs. Ag wire, 15 $mC/cm^2$). Structural characterization of as-fabricated films were carried out by spectroscopic and electron micrographic methods. Photocurrent responses from the sample film electrodes were investigated in the presence of electron acceptors (methyl viologen and oxygen). Photocurrent intensities increased with increasing the density of deposited gold nanoparticles up to ~10%, and tended to decrease above it. It suggests that the surplus gold nanoparticles exhibit quenching effects rather than enhancement effects based on localized electric fields induced by surface plasmon resonance of the deposited gold nanoparticles.

        Parentage assignment of stocked black sea bream <i>Acanthopagrus schlegelii</i> in Hiroshima Bay using microsatellite DNA markers

        <P>ABSTRACT: </P><P>The genetic contribution of 51 broodstock, comprising 29 females and 22 males, reared at Hiroshima City Marine Products Promotion Center for the production of stocked black sea bream was monitored during two consecutive years using seven microsatellite DNA loci. The high discrimination ability of these markers was reflected in the polymorphic identification content (<I>PIC</I> = 0.831), the exclusion probability (<I>Q</I> ∼ 1), and the low probability of identity index (<I>I</I> = 3.635<SUP>−10</SUP>). The total number of breeders contributing to the mating process was estimated at 32 (62.7%) in 2000 and 30 (58.8%) in 2001. On pedigree reconstruction, 69.3% of the offspring were successfully assigned to a single broodstock pair. Loss of alleles accounted for 16.9% during seed production; nevertheless, 90.9% of males and 69.0% of females participated in the mating process. Based on microsatellite genetic tagging, 58.9% of the fish sampled during the two months after release were identified as hatchery stock, presenting no significant differences from wild conspecifics in either fork length or body weight.</P>

        Morphological Variation of the Sea Silverside Odontesthes regia in Regions with Dissimilar Upwelling Intensity along the Humboldt Current System

        We evaluated the influence of areas with dissimilar upwelling intensity along the Humboldt Current System on the morphological variation of the economically important sea silverside Odontesthes regia by using geometric morphometric (GM) and meristic data of populations sampled off Northern Peru, Central Peru, Southern Peru-Northern Chile, and Central-Southern Chile (CSCH). Multivariate analyses of variance, a UPGMA tree, and discriminant analyses of meristic counts separated CSCH individuals, which had slightly higher numbers of gill rakers and radius of the anal fin. Permutation tests and canonical variate analyses of GM data distinguished all populations and highlighted deformations in the head and fins. Variations in GM and meristic analyses were significantly correlated with values of the sea surface temperature and surface chlorophyll-a concentrations. Morphological differences among populations might be associated with the spatial coastal upwelling dynamic of the Humboldt Current System, which highlights the role that this system plays in relation to the phenotypic variation of fish.

      • Drilling to Gabbro in Intact Ocean Crust

        <P>Sampling an intact sequence of oceanic crust through lavas, dikes, and gabbros is necessary to advance the understanding of the formation and evolution of crust formed at mid-ocean ridges, but it has been an elusive goal of scientific ocean drilling for decades. Recent drilling in the eastern Pacific Ocean in Hole 1256D reached gabbro within seismic layer 2, 1157 meters into crust formed at a superfast spreading rate. The gabbros are the crystallized melt lenses that formed beneath a mid-ocean ridge. The depth at which gabbro was reached confirms predictions extrapolated from seismic experiments at modern mid-ocean ridges: Melt lenses occur at shallower depths at faster spreading rates. The gabbros intrude metamorphosed sheeted dikes and have compositions similar to the overlying lavas, precluding formation of the cumulate lower oceanic crust from melt lenses so far penetrated by Hole 1256D.</P>
