We investigatea new fuzzy-neural networks-Hybrid Fuzzy set based polynomial Neural Networks (HFSPNN). These networks consist of genetically optimized multi-layer with two kinds of heterogeneous neurons thatare fuzzy set based polynomial neurons (FSPNs) and polynomial neurons (PNs). We have developed a comprehensive design methodology to determine the optimal structure of networks dynamically. The augmented genetically optimized HFSPNN (namely gHFSPNN) results in a structurally optimized structure and comes with a higher level of flexibility in comparison to the one we encounter in the conventional HFPNN. The GA-based design procedure being applied at each layer of gHFSPNN leads to the selection leads to the selection of preferred nodes (FSPNs or PNs) available within the HFSPNN. In the sequel, the structural optimization is realized via GAs, whereas the ensuing detailed parametric optimization is carried out in the setting of a standard least square method-based learning. The performance of the gHFSPNN is quantified through experimentation where we use a number of modeling benchmarkssynthetic and experimental data already experimented with in fuzzy or neurofuzzy modeling.
The Design of Fuzzy Controller Based on Genetic Optimization and Neurofuzzy Networks

In this study, we introduce a neurofuzzy approach to the design of fuzzy controllers. The development process exploits key technologies of Computational Intelligence (CI), namely, genetic algorithms (GA) and neurofuzzy networks. The crux of the design methodology deals with the selection and determination of optimal values of the scaling factors of fuzzy controllers, which are essential to the entire optimization process. First, the tuning of the scaling factors of the fuzzy controller is carried out. Next, we form a nonlinear mapping for the scaling factors, which are realized by GA-based neurofuzzy networks by using a fuzzy set or fuzzy relation. The proposed approach is applied to control nonlinear systems like the inverted pendulum. Results of comprehensive numerical studies are presented through a detailed comparative analysis.

Advanced Polynomial Neural Networks Architecture with New Adaptive Nodes

In this paper, we propose the design procedure of advance Polynomial Neural Networks(PNN) architecture for optimal model identification of complex and nonlinear system. The proposed PNN architecture is presented as the generic and advanced type. The essence of the design procedure dwells on the Group Method of Data Handling(GMDH). PNN is a flexible neural architecture whose structure is developed through learning. In particular, the number of layers of the PNN is not fixed in advance but is generated in a dynamic way. In this sense, PNN is a self-organizing network. With the aid of three representative numerical examples, compari-sons show that the proposed advanced PNN algorithm can produce the model with higher accuracy than previous other works. And performance index related to approximation and generalization capabilities of model is evaluated and also discussed.

In this paper, we introduce the architecture of Genetic Algorithm (GA) based Feed-forward Polynomial Neural Networks (PNNs) and discuss a comprehensive design methodology. A conventional PNN consists of Polynomial Neurons, or nodes, located in several layers through a network growth process. In order to generate structurally optimized PNNs, a GA-based design procedure for each layer of the PNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes (PNs) with optimal parameters available within the PNN. To evaluate the performance of the GA-based PNN, experiments are done on a model by applying Medical Imaging System (MIS) data to a multi-variable software process. A comparative analysis shows that the proposed GA-based PNN is modeled with higher accuracy and more superb predictive capability than previously presented intelligent models.
