Deep Learning in Drebin: Android malware Image Texture Median Filter Analysis and Detection

This paper proposes an Image Texture Median Filter (ITMF) to analyze and detect Android malware on Drebin datasetsMedian Filter (MF) to reflect the similarity of the malware binary file block. At the same time, using the MAEVS (Malware Activity Embedding in Vector Space) to reflect the potential dynamic activity of malware. In order to ensure the improvement of the classification accuracy, the above-mentioned features(ITMF feature and MAEVS feature)are studied to train Restricted Boltzmann Machine (RBM) and Back Propagation (BP). The experimental results show that the model has an average accuracy rate of 95.43% 1. We design a model of “ITMF” combined with Image Processing of with few false alarms. to Android malicious code, which is significantly higher than 95.2% of without ITMF, 93.8% of shallow machine learning model SVM, 94.8% of KNN, 94.6% of ANN.

Background/Aims: Coenzyme Q<sub>10</sub> (CoQ<sub>10</sub>), is a promising antioxidant; however, low bioavailability owing to lipid-solubility is a limiting factor. We developed water-soluble CoQ<sub>10</sub> (CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W) and compared its effects with conventional lipid-soluble CoQ<sub>10</sub> (CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L) in an experimental model of chronic tacrolimus (Tac) nephropathy. Methods: CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W was developed from a glycyrrhizic-carnitine mixed layer CoQ<sub>10</sub> micelle based on acyltransferases. Chronic nephropathy was induced in rats with 28-day Tac treatment; they were concomitantly treated with CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L or CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W. CoQ<sub>10</sub> level in plasma and kidney were measured using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W and CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L effects on Tac-induced nephropathy were assessed in terms of renal function, histopathology, oxidative stress, and apoptotic cell death. Their effects on cell viability and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production were assessed in cultured proximal tubular cells, human kidney 2 (HK-2) cells. Results: The plasma CoQ<sub>10</sub> level was significantly higher in the CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W group than in the CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L group. Tac treatment caused renal dysfunction, typical pathologic lesions, and oxidative stress markers. Serum creatinine was restored in the Tac + CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L or CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W groups compared with that in the Tac group. CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W administration reduced oxidative stress and apoptosis markers. Mitochondrial ultrastructure assessment revealed that the addition of CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L or CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W with Tac increased mitochondrial size and number than Tac treatment alone. In vitro investigations revealed that both CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L and CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W improved cell viability and reduced ROS production in the Tac-induced HK-2 cell injury. Conclusions: CoQ<sub>10</sub>-W has a better therapeutic effect in Tac-induced renal injury than conventional CoQ<sub>10</sub>-L, possibly associated with improved CoQ<sub>10</sub> bioavailability.
Adenovirus-mediated Double Suicide Gene Selectively Kills Gastric Cancer Cells

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the adenovirus-mediated double suicide gene (CD/TK) for selective killing of gastric cancer cells. Gastric cancer cells SCG7901 and normal gastric epithelial cell lines were infected by adenoviruses Ad-survivin/GFP and Ad-survivin/CD/TK. GFP expression and CD-TK were detected by fluorescence microscopy and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), respectively. After treatment of the infected cells with the pro-drugs ganciclovir (GCV) and/or 5-FC, the cell growth status was evaluated by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. Cell cycle changes were detected using flow cytometry. In nude mice bearing human gastric cancer, the recombinant adenovirus vector was injected directly into the tumor followed by an intraperitoneal injection of GCV and/or 5-FC. The subsequent tumor growth was then observed. The GFP gene driven by survivin could be expressed within the gastric cancer line SCG7901, but not in normal gastric epithelial cells. RT-PCR demonstrated the presence of the CD/TK gene product in the infected SCG7901 cells, but not in the infected normal gastric epithelial cells. The infected gastric cancer SCG7901, but not the gastric cells, was highly sensitive to the pro-drugs. The CD/TK fusion gene system showed significantly greater efficiency than either of the single suicide genes in killing the target cells (P<0.01). Treatment of the infected cells with the pro-drugs resulted in increased cell percentage in G0-Gl phase and decreased percentage in S phase. In nude mice bearing SCG7901 cells, treatment with the double suicide gene system significantly inhibited tumor growth, showing much stronger effects than either of the single suicide genes (P<0.01). The adenovirus-mediated CD/TK double suicide gene driven by survivin promoter combined with GCV an 5-FC treatment could be an effective therapy against experimental gastric cancer with much greater efficacy than the single suicide gene CD/TK combined with GCV or 5-FC.

This paper presents parallel-connected inverters to achieve accurate proportional power sharing. Due to line impedance mismatch, reactive power cannot be distributed proportionally when using the conventional P-ω and Q-E droop. In order to realize reactive proportional power sharing, the ratio of the droop coefficients should be inversely proportional to their power-sharing ratios. Meanwhile, the ratio of the line impedance should be inversely proportional to the desired power-sharing ratio, which is very difficult to be met in practice. In order to deal with this issue, a practical control strategy is presented. By measuring the PCC voltage and using the virtual impedance, the output impedance of individual inverters is reconstructed to counteract the line impedance effect. In order to guarantee system stability, a low pass filter is designed to suppress the bandwidth of the line compensation. Finally, the simulation and experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Purpose: To evaluate and update evidence for prognostic effects of kidney-sparing (KS) management and nephroureterectomy (NU) for upper tract urothelial carcinomas. Materials and Methods: Pubmed, Embase and the Cochrane Library were retrieved for the identification of comparative studies of kidney-sparing procedure and nephroureterectomy for upper tract urothelial carcinoma prior to December 2014. The data were extracted independently by 2 reviewers and the quality of the included studies was assessed. Review Manager 5.3 and STATA 13 were used to perform the meta-analysis. Results: Twenty-three observational studies including 1,587 KS and 3,996 NU were evaluated. The results of the meta-analysis showed that nephroureterectomy had no significant benefit with regard to intravesical recurrence (IRFS), metastasis (MFS), cancer specific survival (CSS) and overall survival (OS) except the total tumor recurrence (RFS) when compared with kidney sparing management. The respectively pooled outcomes were HR 1.36 (0.69-2.68, P=0.38) for IRFS, 1.09 (0.59-2.01, P=0.78) for MFS, 1.17 (0.77-1.79, P=0.47) for CSS, 1.50 (0.90-2.48, P=0.12) for OS and 1.61 (1.03-2.51, P=0.04) for RFS. Conclusions: On the whole, kidney-sparing management had equivalent prognostic effect on upper tract urothelial carcinoma as the standard nephroureterectomy except in tumor recurrence. However, the results should be interpreted with caution for lack of stage and grade stratification and multi-center randomized controlled trials are still needed to verify our results.
Photocatalytic Decomposition of Toluene Vapor by Bare and TiO<sub>2</sub>-coated Carbon Fibers

The photocatalytic decomposition of toluene vapor by bare and $TiO_2$-coated carbon fibers was studied. Atomic layer deposition (ALD) was used to perform the $TiO_2$ coating. We show that, under our conditions, the photocatalytic activity of bare carbon fibers was comparable with that of $TiO_2$ films, which are known to be good photocatalysts. The origin of the high photocatalytic activity of bare carbon fibers is discussed.
Multi-Function Distributed Generation with Active Power Filter and Reactive Power Compensator

This paper presents a control strategy for voltage-controlled multi-function distributed generation (DG) combined with an active power filter (APF) and a reactive power compensator. The control strategy is based on droop control. As a result of local nonlinear loads, the voltages of the point of common coupling (PCC) and the currents injecting into the grid by the DG are distorted. The power quality of the PCC voltage can be enhanced by using PCC harmonic compensation. In addition, with the PCC harmonic compensation, the DG offers a low-impedance path for harmonic currents. Therefore, the DG absorbs most of the harmonic currents generated by local loads, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the grid connected current is dramatically reduced. Furthermore, by regulating the reactive power of the DG, the magnitude of the PCC voltage can be maintained at its nominal value. The performance of the DG with the proposed control strategy is analyzed by bode diagrams. Finally, simulation and experimental results verify the proposed control strategy.
