Black people were discriminated against and displaced within a hierarchical system that demarcated “us” (Good, Beauty, White) and “them” (Evil, Ugliness, Black) during colonial times and the era of Apartheid in South Africa. In 1994, the system officially ended with the first non-racial election and the birth of a post-apartheid “rainbow nation.” But gradually many black people began to look suspiciously upon the New South Africa. They considered, and nowadays believe, that it no longer pursues peaceful coexistence or the creation of a new and better world for all. In fact, many frustrated critics have begun to regard the New South Africa as just another apartheid regime, and are dismayed at the regression to poverty and violence. This paper examines Phaswane Mpe's novel, Welcome to Our Hillbrow, which reflects on many of the old and new sets of problems facing the new South Africa through the stories of main characters Refentše and Refilwe. Socio-political problems such as corruption, crime, xenophobia and HIV/AIDS are highlighted, and the discrimination and hatred of others that are prevalent throughout South Africa, and by extension the whole world, are revealed. Readers are inspired to meditate on what the real meanings of the new world of equality and freedom, for all of us, are. In this way, Mpe shows the way forward to those who seeking to examine the New South Africa critically and to find answers to its problems and challenges. Indeed he goes one step further, inviting all of us to participate in building a genuine human-centric world filled with hope, reconciliation and peace.

This letter presents a measurement methodology of the complex permittivity of liquid using a partially open cavity in narrow band. The partially open cavity (POC) can measure dielectric small changes caused by the temperature variation of the liquid inside the cavity as well. Using the resonance frequency and unloaded quality factor of the proposed POC, the complex permittivity is evaluated. The apertures on the walls of the cavity are designed to circulate the liquid inside to outside of the POC and located at the corner area of the cavity to minimize the disturbance of field distribution at the dominant mode. The results measured by the proposed POC were compared with those by the conventional open-ended probe and Cole-Cole equation. The POC showed better performance in measuring small dielectric constant changes than the open-ended probe.
A Study on the morale of Quality Staff SMEs in Korea
( Sangbok Ree ),( Rohgook Park ),( Young-hyun Park ) 한국품질경영학회 2015 한국품질경영학회 학술대회 Vol.2015 No.2
Purpose: Companies allege that they focus on quality and yet the treatment of quality staff is not a priority. In this paper, we will examine the exact position of quality staff and offer ways to improve their overall morale. There was no investigation of such phenomena identification and satisfaction of quality staff morale. Methodology/Approach: We attempted to evaluate the morale of the quality staff in various companies through questionnaire as well as through personnel surveys. Additionally, we conducted interviews with the quality staff and CEOs of various companies. Findings The morale and power of quality staff share a number of differences depending on the company. Large companies typically have quality staff with high morale, whereas the quality staff morale is lower amongst SMEs(small and medium enterprises). Research Limitation/implication: The limitation of this paper is on the size of survey and variety of companies. However, the future study will enhance the potential of the proposed theme. Originality/Value of paper: If a company``s CEO correctly understands quality, then the morale of quality staff will improve, in turn improving the overall quality of the company. It is not possible that quality staff recognize the quality manager or CEO, which is quality expert work. In this paper, we propose ideas on how to improve the morale of quality staff.

The purpose of this study was to estimate and analyze the potential radiation dose that the future visitors and the cleaning staff will be exposed to when the KRR-1 reactor is converted into a memorial hall. The radiation doses were estimated using the RESRAD-BUILD software, where case, building, receptor, shielding, and source parameters were applied as the input data. Also, the basic data for the assessment of the radiation doses were determined in an indirect manner using the data on the waste generated during the decommissioning process of the reactor. The assessment results indicate that the potential radiation dose to the visitors and the cleaning staff will be less than 1 mSv, the annual dose limit for the general public. However, if anyone for a significant period of time is close to the reactor, the overall dose will increase. The radiation dose for the future visitors and the cleaning staff was determined to be lower than the annual dose limit for the general public. Given such a risk, systematic measures, such as periodic monitoring or limiting hours, are imperative.
Further study of rings in which essential maximal right ideals are GP-injective

In this paper, rings in which essential maximal right ideals are GP-injective are studied. Whether the rings with this condition satisfy von Neumann regularity is the goal of this study. The obtained research results are twofold: First, it was shown that this regularity holds even when the reduced ring is replaced with π-IFP and NI-ring. Second, it was shown that this regularity also holds even when the maximal right ideal is changed to GWideal. This can be interpreted as an extension of the existing results.

Appropriateness of the minimum detectable activity in the analysis of gamma radionuclides is very important. This is reason determine the time factor among the conditions of the analysis when it is rationally determined has the advantage that radioactivity analysis can be performed accurately and quickly. In this study, 100 mL of an unknown sample was diluted in Marinelli Beaker 1L to obtain, review data on gamma radiation analysis results and minimum detectable activity for each measurement time. The measurement was used High Purity Germanium detector, target nuclides are Co-57, Co-58, Y-88 and Cs-137. Since the radioactivity analysis sample will be expected to be the waste subject to selfdisposal or less during the radioactive waste classification, the minimum detectable activity standard was set based on the detection of less than the permissible activity for self-disposal for each nuclide. The measurement methods were measured by classifying it into seven categories: 1000 seconds, 3600 seconds, 10000 seconds, 30000 seconds, 80000 seconds, 100000 seconds, and 150000 seconds. The radioactivity from this measurement are Co-57 2.89 Bq·g?1, Co-58 0.19 Bq·g?1, Y-88 0.20 Bq·g?1, Cs-137 0.15 Bq·g?1, the measurement results under all conditions were similar. On the other hand, the minimum detectable activity showed values above the allowable activity for self-disposal in not but Co-58 at 1000 and 3600 seconds. Only after taking the measurement time of 10000 seconds, the result was derived Co-57 0.0095 Bq·g?1, Co-58 0.0068 Bq·g?1, Y-88 0.0052 Bq·g?1, Cs-137 0.0062 Bq·g?1, which was confirmed to less than the allowable activity for self-disposal by nuclide. Reasonably determining the measurement time in gamma radionuclide analysis is a very important issue in terms of economy of time and accuracy of measurement. Although this study cannot be said to be able to determine a reasonable measurement time for all gamma radionuclide analysis, it is hoped that research on various samples will be made to contribute to the efficient measurement of gamma radioactivity.
Antenna system applicable to microwave non-invasive hyperthermia lipolysis
Sangbok Park,Joosung Hwang,Youngwoo Kwon,Changyul Cheon IET 2012 Electronics letters Vol.48 No.19
<P>Presented is an antenna system for microwave non-invasive hyperthermia lipolysis. The antenna system consists of a circular waveguide antenna radiating electromagnetic waves, an AlN (aluminium nitride) radome, and a heat sink. The AlN radome with the heatsink helps to extract heat from the skin so that the skin temperature does not rise during hyperthermia lipolysis. The antenna was designed to be operated with TE21 mode to maintain uniform temperature over a wide area as much as possible in subcutaneous fat. The usability of the proposed system was verified by performing numerical simulation and rat hyperthermia lipolysis experiments.</P>
