열사이클에 의한 세라믹/금속접합의 잔류응력에 관한 연구

Thermal stresses at ceramic/metal interfaces in ceramic-metal joints are analyzed with emphases on assessing residual stresses produced and retained in the joints during joining processes of ceramics with metals, and evaluating their redistributions under applied thermal cycles. A thermoelastic plastic finite element method is adopted to compute various physical quantities associated with the thermal processes. The computational results demeonstrate that the residual stresses on the ceramic side in the metal-ceramic joints, generally, increase with increasing peak temepratures in the thermal cycles. Also, the higher the peak temperatures are in the thermal cycles, the higher values are obtained for intensities (Q) and coefficients (λ) of stress singularity near the end point along the interface on the ceramic side.

A stress analysis on a strip with a circular hole was carried out by the computer assisted photoelastic experimental method. A stress concentration phenomenon around the hole of a strip under axial loading was carefully investigated through this study. The result shows that it well agrees with the results of finite element method and photoelasticity. We suggest that computer assisted photoelasticity experiment is very efficient method for data analysis compared to conventional experimental stress analysis method.

To join structures together, various methods and processes are available including welding, riveting, bonding with industrial adhesives and fastening by bolts. The structural factors affecting the dynamic behavior of the joined structures are usually believed to be materials composing the bolts, bolt sizes and the number of bolts as well as the strength of applied torque and the extent of overlap between the structures joined together. This paper analyzes the impacts of the structural factors such as the bolt sizes, the extent of overlap and the materials composing the structures on the dynamic behavior of the joined structures In this research an impulse hammer technique is applies to investigate the dynamic behavior of joints produced by bolts. The results have demonstrated that the resonance frequencies of the joints increase with the increasing torque and decreasing overlap length and stiffness.

Abstract - There are various methods to join mechanical structures together. They typically include welding, mechanical joints by bolts and other processes depending on specific needs. Analyses of joints in the mechanical structures are essential in understanding the dynamic characteristics of the structures. In this research an impulse technique is applies to investigate the dynamic behavior of joints produced by bolts. The length of overlap in the joints was varied as the number of the bolts in the joints was changed. Also, the torque applied to the bolts were adjusted. Resonance frequencies were determined for the joints to evaluate the relationship between the increase in the applied torque and the increase in the number of bolts used in the joints. The results have demonstrated that the resonance frequencies of the joints increase with the increasing torque.

In review of he current technical difficulties and weaknesses in producing filters, this investigation presents a method to evaluate metallic fiber filters by utilizing the theory of fluid dynamics. A method for evaluations of the efficiency of filters in estabilished. Also the filter configuration is analyzed and the filter media is characterized. A trial product of pleated type filter is designd and produced. The product has optimal filtering surface area per unit flow rate. Also tests for filtration efficiency and characterizations of the products were conducted.

Pulsating pressure of exhaust system is generated by pulsating gas flow due to working of exhaust valve. The pulsating gas flow is closely concerned to engine power loss according to back pressure and exhaust noise. However, because of nonlinear effect due to large amplitude of pulsating pressure, it is difficult to exactly calculate pulsating pressure propagation in exhaust system of typical engine. Moreover, in case of estimating exhaust system performance, conventional prediction method which is based on linear theory, gives many restrictions and overestimate. As the first step for solving this problem, this paper contains experimental model to measure pulsating pressure propagation and shows power spectrum density,frequency response function, coherence in frequency domain for characterize pulsating pressure propagation in exhaust system of typical engine.

A study was conducted to design automotive thermal energy storage for reduction in exhaust emission and enhancing the passenger's comfortability. Ba(OH)2 8H2O was chosen, based on its thermodynamic characteristics and a series of test, as a base material for the energy storage system. Sr(OH)2 8H2O and H2O were added to the base material to protect degradation that is appeared during the cycling test of the pure base material. Thermal storage were, then designed to provide 2,000 kJ of energy within a few minutes of engine ignition with the computer simulation results.

Maximum Bubble Method를 사용하여서 5가지 종류의 Lead-Arsenic Alloy의 표면장력을 여러가지 온도에 따라서 측정하였다. Arsenic은 용융상태의 Lead에서는 界面活性의 特性이 있고, 극히 미량의 Arsenic이 용융상태의 Lead에 첨가되었을 때 Lead의 표면장력을 현저하게 저하시키는 것을 조사하였다.

종래에 사용된 Autoclave나 Flame-Metallizing 방법으로서는 용이하지 않았던 Metal Deposition을 Electrochemical Process를 사용하여 Al, Cu, Mo, Ni, Brass와 Stainless Steel를 Metal Network Structure를 구성하는 데 이용하였고, 또 구성된 Network를 열처리하여서 구성된 Structure Stablizing 하는데 필요한 조건을 제시하였다.
