Investigation of the Non-Relativistic Fermi-Gas Model by Considering the Position-Dependent Mass
S. Zare,M. de Montigny,H. Hassanabadi 한국물리학회 2017 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.70 No.2
We investigate the Schr¨odinger equation in the position-dependent mass framework with an infinite square well potential. We apply this approach to a Fermi gas, calculate the density of states of the gas, examine the information entropy, some expectation values and the uncertainty principle.

In the present work, the isothermal and cyclic oxidation behaviour of the 1.4742 ferritic and 310S austenitic stainlesssteels together with their dissimilar metal welds was investigated in the air with the humidity of 30 ± 3%. The welding wasperformed by the gas tungsten arc welding process utilizing ER310, ERNiCr-3, and ER446 filler metals. In the isothermalconditions, all the tested specimens followed the parabolic rate law. The maximum and minimum kpvalues were related tothe 310S-BM, 1.89 × 10−1 mg2cm−4 h−1, and the 1.4742-BM, 0.03 × 10−2 mg2cm−4 h−1, respectively. Due to the formationof a dense and thin mono-layer of Cr–Fe–Al spinel ((Cr,Fe,Al)3O4) on the surface of the 1.4742 stainless steel alongside thelowest coefficients of the thermal expansion (CTE), it exhibits a highly satisfying oxidation resistance in both isothermal andcyclic conditions. In the cyclic conditions, except for the 1.4742-BM, the other specimens encountered the oxide scale crackingand spallation. The large CTE mismatch between the underlying 310S-BM, -BMS, and ER310-WM with the multi-layerchromia (Cr2O3) and Cr–Mn spinel ((Cr,Mn)3O4) oxide scale caused extensive spallation and mass loss in cyclic conditions. The ERNiCr-3-W in comparison with the two other weldments, by reducing the thermal expansion mismatch between theadjacent underlying metals and the better oxidation resistance of the nickel-base ERNiCr-3-WM, showed better oxidationresistance in both isothermal and cyclic conditions.
Q-Deformed Morse and Oscillator Potential
Hassanabadi, H.,Chung, W. S.,Zare, S.,Bhardwaj, S. B. Hindawi Limited 2017 Advances in high energy physics Vol.2017 No.-
<P>We studied the q-deformed Morse and harmonic oscillator systems with appropriate canonical commutation algebra. The analytic solutions for eigenfunctions and energy eigenvalues are worked out using time-independent Schrödinger equation and it is also noted that these wave functions are sensitive to variation in the parameters involved.</P>

This study is an effort to clearly recognize the seismic damages occurred in strap-braced cold formed steel frames. In order to serve this purpose, a detailed investigation was conducted on 9 full scale strap-braced CFS walls and the required data were derived from the results of the experiments. As a consequence, quantitative and qualitative damage indices have been proposed in three seismic performance levels. Moreover, in order to assess seismic performance of the strap- braced CFS frames, a total of 8 models categorized into three types are utilized. Based on the experimental results, structural characteristics are calculated and all frames have been modeled as single degree of freedom systems. Incremental dynamic analysis using OPENSEES software is utilized to calculate seismic demand of the strap-braced CFS walls. Finally, fragility curves are calculated based on three damage limit states proposed by this paper. The results showed that the use of cladding and other elements, which contribute positively to the lateral stiffness and strength, increase the efficiency of strap-braced CFS walls in seismic events.

In this study, the neutronic calculation to obtain tritium breeding ratio (TBR) in a deuterium-tritium (D-T) fusion power reactor using Monte Carlo MCNPX is done. In addition, by using COMSOL software, an efficient cooling system is designed. In the proposed design, it is adequate to enrich up to 40% 6Li. Total tritium breeding ratio of 1.12 is achieved. The temperature of helium as coolant gas never exceed 687℃. As regards the tolerable temperature of beryllium (650℃), the design of blanket module is done in the way that beryllium temperature never exceed 600℃. The main feature of this design indicates the temperature of helium coolant is higher than other proposed models for blanket module, therefore power of electricity generation will increase.

Objectives: Vaginal Candidiasis with an approximate prevalence of 30% is the second cause of vaginal infections. Antifungal azole is the first treatment for Vaginal Candidiasis; however, some side effects have been reported for this chemical medicine. Based on the antifungal activity of Inner Stratum of Quercus Brantii (Q. Brantii), the aim of our study was to compare the effects of vaginal douche of Q. Brantii extract and clotrimazole on vaginal candidiasis symptoms before and after the treatments, in women. Methods: 89 non-pregnant women with positive KOH test which is capable of identifying the presence of hyphae and mycelium by adding KOH (10%), and a positive vaginal candidiasis culture were randomly divided into two experimental groups, using permuted block randomization method. One group received clotrimazole vaginal cream (1%) and the other group received vaginal douche of Q. Brantii extract. Groups were treated for 7 days and KOH tests and cultures were evaluated again. Data were analyzed via chi-square and independent t-test, using SPSS software. Results: According to the results, there were no significant differences between experimental groups for demographic characteristics like age (p=0.403), BMI (p=0.911), educational levels (p=0.862) and contraceptive methods (p=0.702). Moreover, significant differences were seen in vaginal discharge between the groups after the treatments (P=0.043). Conclusion: The results suggested that the therapeutic effect of vaginal douche of Q. Brantii extract was approximately similar to that of clotrimazole vaginal cream.

Background: The pathogenesis of sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) is influenced by the patient genetic background and environmental factors. Based on prior understanding, these are classified in two major pathways of genetic instability. Microsatellite instability (MSI) and CPG island methylator phenotype (CIMP) are categorized as features of the hypermethylated prototype, and chromosomal instability (CIN) is known to be indicative of the non-hypermethylated category. Secreted frizzled related protein 2 (SFRP2), APC1A in WNT signaling pathway and the DNA repair gene, O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT), are frequently hypermethylated in colorectal cancer. Detection of methylated DNA as a biomarker by easy and inexpensive methods might improve the quality of life of patients with CRC via early detection of cancer or a precancerous condition. Aim: To evaluate the rate of SFRP2 and MGMT hypermethylation in both polyp tissue and serum of patients in south Iran as compared with matched control normal population corresponding samples. Materials and Methods: Methylation-specific PCR was used to detect hypermethylation in DNA extracted from 48 polypoid tissue samples and 25 healthy individuals. Results: Of total polyp samples, 89.5% had at least one promoter gene hypermethylation. The most frequent methylated locus was SFRP2 followed by MGMT-B (81.2 and 66.6 percent respectively). Serologic detection of hypermethylation was 95% sensitive as compared with polyp tissue. No hypermethylation was detected in normal tissue and serum and its detection in patients with polyps, especially of serrated type, was specific. Conclusions: Serologic investigation for detection of MGMT-B, SFRP2 hypermethylation could facilitate prioritization of high risk patients for colonoscopic polyp detection and excision.
