Praveen Sharma,Pramod Kumar Pal 대한파킨슨병및이상운동질환학회 2023 Journal Of Movement Disorders Vol.16 No.1
GTP cyclohydrolase-1 (GCH1)-deficient dystonia (DYT-GCH1/DYT5) is an autosomal-dominant dopa-responsive dystonia (DRD) of childhood onset typically presenting with foot dystonia progressing to generalized dystonia and parkinsonism with diurnal fluctuation and a dramatic and persistent response to levodopa (LD)
Plasmodium falciparum apicoplast and its transcriptional regulation through calcium signaling
Praveen Rai,Drista Sharma,Rani Soni,Nazia Khatoon,Bhaskar Sharma,Tarun Kumar Bhatt 한국미생물학회 2017 The journal of microbiology Vol.55 No.4
Malaria has been present since ancient time and remains amajor global health problem in developing countries. Plasmodiumfalciparum belongs to the phylum Apicomplexan, largely contain disease-causing parasites and characterizedby the presence of apicoplast. It is a very essential organelleof P. falciparum responsible for the synthesis of key moleculesrequired for the growth of the parasite. Indispensablenature of apicoplast makes it a potential drug target. Calciumsignaling is important in the establishment of malaria parasiteinside the host. It has been involved in invasion and egressof merozoites during the asexual life cycle of the parasite. Calcium signaling also regulates apicoplast metabolism. Therefore,in this review, we will focus on the role of apicoplast inmalaria biology and its metabolic regulation through Ca++signaling.

Background Platelet aggregation studies using conventional light transmission aggregometry (LTA) have several disadvantages and require strict pre-analytical measures for reliable results. We aimed to examine the utility of flow cytometric platelet aggregation (FCA) assay in detecting platelet function defects (PFDs) in patients with a history of bleeding symptoms. Methods Sixty-four participants (24 patients and 40 healthy controls) were included in this study. LTA and FCA assay were performed simultaneously in patients and healthy controls. In the FCA assay, two portions of platelets from the same individual were labeled separately with CD31-FITC and CD31-PE. After mixing and stimulation with agonists, the double- colored platelet aggregates were visualized using a flow cytometer. The results generated using the two techniques were compared and correlated. Results The patients’ median age was 17 years (range, 3‒72 yr) with a male-to-female ratio of 1:1.7. There was substantial agreement between LTA and FCA assay in detecting a PFD (=0.792). Four patients showing a Glanzmann thrombasthenia-like pattern on LTA exhibited an abnormal FCA. A functional defect in collagen binding was detected on the FCA assay conducted in two immune thrombocytopenic patients with severe bleeding. Conclusion FCA assay can be used to identify functional defects in platelets, with potential applications in thrombocytopenic individuals. It also facilitates the diagnosis of inherited bleeding disorders with platelet defects.
The Rice Growth and Yield for Organic Rice Production on Pot 5eedling type
Young-Rip Kwon,Young-Hun Moon,Praveen Kumar Sharma,Dae-Hyang Kim,Hyeong-Jin Jee 한국유기농업학회 2011 韓國有機農業學會誌 Vol.19 No.S
In traditional organic rice culture practices, control of weeds is a big problem. This study was conducted to increase the rice production. Results showed that Plant heighl, SPAD, root length and weíght were higher in pot raísed seedling than broadcasting method except number of panicles. High plant density caused reduction in plant height, number of culm and chlorophyll content of the rice. No lodging was observed in both methods. Thickness of third intemode and culm length was more in pot raised see에ings at both sites. When organic material was used rice yield increased by 3.81%. Higher rice production (10%) was recorded in the fields planted with pot raised seedlings. From the above study it could be conclude that the pot raised seedlings perform better than the seedlings raised by broadcasting methods.
Hepatoprotective activity of terpenoids and terpenoid fractions of Scoparia dulcis L
Praveen Thaggikuppe Krishnamurthy,Jitendra Bajaj,Abhishek Sharma,Sellappan Manimaran,Prashantha Kumar Bommenahalli Ravanappa,Vijayan Pottekad 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2010 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.10 No.4
Scoparia dulcis L. is widely used in the traditional system of medicine for treating liver ailments. In the present study the terpenoids and terpenoid fractions isolated from 1:1:1 petroleum ether, diethyl ether and methanol (PDM) extract of Scoparia dulcis L. were tested for their in vitro 1, 1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity. Selected samples from the assay were further tested for their in vitro hepatoprotective activity against CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity in freshly isolated rat hepatocytes. In the in vitro antioxidant study, fractions 7, 11, 13, 14, and 15and PDM extract show the DPPH radical scavenging activity. The phytochemical screening of all these fractions show the presence of terpenoids. In the in vitro hepatoprotective study all these fractions and the PDM extract significantly prevent the CCl4 induced changes in the aspartate aspartate amino transferase, alanine amino transferase and alkaline phosphatase levels (p < 0.05). The above results are comparable with the standard, silymarin. The results of the study indicate that, the PDM extract of Scoparia dulcis L. possesses potential hepatoprotective activity and this may be attributed to its free radical scavenging potential, which in turn may be attributed to the presence of terpenoids.

In the construction industry, thin-walled frame elements with very slender open cross-sections and low torsional stiffness are often subjected to a complex loading condition where axial, bending, shear and torsional stresses are present simultaneously. Hence, these often fail in instability even before the yield capacity is reached. One of the most common instability conditions associated with thin-walled structures is Lateral Torsional Buckling (LTB). In this study, a first order Generalized Beam Theory (GBT) formulation and numerical analysis of cold-formed steel lipped channel beams (C80×40×10×1, C90×40×10×1, C100×40×10×1, C80×40×10×1.6, C90×40×10×1.6 and C100×40×10×1.6) subjected to uniform moment is carried out to predict pure Lateral Torsional Buckling (LTB). These results are compared with the Finite Element Analysis of the beams modelled with shell elements using ABAQUS and analytical results based on Euler's buckling formula. The mode wise deformed shape and modal participation factors are obtained for comparison of the responses along with the effect of varying the length of the beam from 2.5 m to 10 m. The deformed shapes of the beam for different modes and GBTUL plots are analyzed for comparative conclusions.
