The aim of work was to investigate changes of 7-ketocholesterol synthesis in alveolar macrophages in the dynamic of lung mechanical ventilation with injurious parameters. The goal of in vitro part of work was to observe influence of 7-ketocholesterol on iNOS and MIP1 β production in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) cells. We used 17 healthy domestic pigs randomly assigned into two treatment groups: group I with mechanical ventilation with physiological parameters; group II underwent injurious ventilation with high volume tidal (VT) and low positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP). Сells were analyzed for CYP27A1 protein and gene expression levels, 7-ketocholesterol production. In alveolar macrophages of group II, we obtained increase of production of CYP27A1 protein and 7-ketocholesterol, as well as the expression of the CYP27A1 gene at the 2nd hour of ventilation. In the in vitro experiments we show dose-dependent increase of MIP1 β and decrease of CYP27A1, iNOS protein production after 7-ketocholesterol treatment. [BMB reports 2010; 43(4): 257-262]

Oxana Semyachkina-Glushkovskaya,Inna Blokhina,Nikita Navolokin,Arina Evsukova,Georgy Karandin,Alexander Khorovodov,Andrey Terskov,Ivan Fedosov,Alexander Dubrovsky,Maria Tzoy,Vasily Ageev,Ilana Agranov 사단법인약침학회 2022 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.15 No.1
Background: The development of new methods of drug brain delivery is a crucial step for the effective therapy of the brain diseases. Pharma- and acupuncture are the forms of alternative therapy of the brain pathology, including an increase in the permeability of blood-brain barrier. However, the mechanisms of pharma- and acupuncture-mediated effects on the brain physiology remain not fully understood. Results: This pilot study on healthy mice clearly demonstrates the Evans Blue spreading in the mouse head and in the brain via the perivascular spaces (PVSs) of the trigeminal structure and the cribriform plate after the dye injection into the Feng Chi point (Galbladder 20, GB20). Conclusion: These results suggest that pharmacopuncture at GB20 can be a perspective method for brain drug delivery via PVSs.

Hierarchical self-assembling of materials represents one of the most appealing subjects in nanoscience, since bottom-up strategies allow for tailor-made synthesis of functional structures in commodities as well as in living systems. Herein we show that nanorings of ca. 10 nm silica nanoparticles without any inorganic metal oxide or organic participant are able to spontaneously self-assemble presenting sophisticated forms and hierarchy. It was observed that after synthesis, silica nanoparticles are chaotically distributed but during storage at ambient conditions they spontaneously form self-assembled aggregates with multiplicity of morphologies when a small amount of water is added in the environment. Detailed description of the morphology of such structures by high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) is presented together with a discussion about the role of water during their spontaneous formation.
A Study on the City Branding of St. Petersburg city in Russia
Kim ChanMok,Rakova Oxana 한국로고스경영학회 2010 로고스경영연구 Vol.8 No.3
Nowadays cities are increasingly importing the concept and techniques of product branding for use within place marketing, in pursuit of wider urban management goals, especially within the new conditions created by integration and globalization. This paper will firstly explain the importance of city branding and show how product branding can be transformed into city branding as a powerful imagebuilding strategy. Second, it will try to prove that Russian Federation cities are not exception in this process by giving example of Russia St.Peterburg city brand strategy.
Trichloroethylene adsorption from aqueous solutions by activated carbons

We studied trichloroethylene (TCE) adsorption from aqueous solutions in equilibrium conditions by activated carbons (AC). They difer in raw materials, porous structure characteristics and chemical state of the surface. TCE adsorption isotherms were found to have a concave shape, which is characteristic of a sorbent—sorbate weak interaction. It can be a result from electrostatic repulsion of organic matter molecule from polar groups on carbon surface and adsorbed water molecules. The basic parameters of adsorption were calculated by the Dubinin–Radushkevich equation. We determined that for AG-OV-1 and SKD-515 in the coordinates of the Dubinin–Radushkevich equation, there are two linear plots suggesting adsorption in pores of diferent sizes or reorientation of adsorbate molecules on the activated carbon surface. The efciency of TCE removal by the activated carbons was evaluated. To reduce the TCE to the maximum allowable, the lowest sorbent consumption was observed for AC with the highest values of surface area and micropore volume. However, the high cost and hydrophobicity of these adsorbents make it impractical to use them in adsorption columns with a fxed layer. We ofered an adsorbent that reasonably combines extraction efciency, ease of operation and economic feasibility.

Composites based on graphene and water-dispersible polyaniline-poly(2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) complex were shown as materials promising for the development of hole transporting layers (HTLs). By using multimodal atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and conductivity measurements, the relationship between the oxidation degree of graphene and the morphology, electrical conductivity and electron energy structure of HTLs was revealed. Utilizing the HTLs in organic solar cells it was shown that graphene nanostacks, rather than oxidized graphene nanostacks, enhanced the performance of the cells by increasing the roughness of the HTL surface, which caused the improvement of the short circuit current.
The use of semi-coke for phenol removal from aqueous solutions
Krasnova Tamara A.,Gora Natalia V.,Belyaeva Oxana V.,Gorelkina Alena K.,Golubeva Nadezhda S.,Timoshchuk Irina V. 한국탄소학회 2021 Carbon Letters Vol.31 No.5
The paper deals with a comparative study of equilibrium and kinetics of phenol adsorption from aqueous solutions by means of commercial activated carbons and semi-cokes, difering in the nature of feedstock, production technology and structural characteristics. The main adsorption parameters are calculated with the usage of Langmuir and Dubinin–Radushkevich equations. The change in the characteristics of the structure and state of the surface of semi-coke P2 as a result of modifcation is estimated. It was found that phenol adsorption kinetics is described by a pseudo-second-order model. The adsorption rate constants and the coefcient of external difusion mass transfer are calculated. It is proved that phenol extraction from aqueous solutions presents a mixed-difusion nature, and the process rate is limited by external mass transfer for 13 min for SKD-515 and 22 min for ABG. To increase the adsorption capacity, the oxidative modifcation of the semi-coke P2 was carried out. Considering the economic and technological aspects, ABG semi-coke is recognized as a promising sorbent for phenol extraction from aqueous media.
