        백금과 철이 포함되는 새로운 이핵 다금속 화합물인 (dppf) Pt (deydt), (dppf) Pt (ebmdt)와 (dppf) Pt (bmddt)를 합성하여 IR, UV, 고분해능 FAB 질량분석, x-선 구조분석, 순환 전압-전류법으로 분석하였다. (dppf)Pt(ebmdt)와 (dppf)Pt(bmddt)의 순환 전압-전류법 분석결과 리간드의 가역적인 산화가 먼저 일어난 후 약 1.4 V에서 가역적인 〔(dppf)Pt〕^2+의 산화가 관측되었다. 그러나 (dppf)Pt(deydt) 화합물의 경우 1. 25 V에서 가역적인 〔(dppf)Pt〕^2+의 산화가 일어난 후 1. 45 V에서 리간드의 분해로 예상되는 비가역성 산화 피이크가 관찰되었다. (dppf)Pt(deydt) 화합물의 x-선 구조분석을 185 K의 저온에서 수행하였음에도 말단의 두 -COOCH_2CH_3 기 가운데 하나가 심하게 disorder되어 있는 것으로 분석되었다. New platinum(Ⅱ) complexes, (dppf)Pt(deydt), (dppf)Pt(ebmdt) and (dppf)Pt(bmddt)(dppf: 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene; deydt: diethylester ylidenedithiolate; ebindt: 1,2-ethylenebis(methylester)-1,2-dithiolate; bmddt:5,6-bis(methylester)-1,4-dithiin-2,3-dithiolate) were synthesized and analyzed by FT-IR, UV-vis, high-resolution FAB Mass, SEM and cyclic voltammetry. Single crystal of (dppf)Pt(deydt)·(CH_3OH) was grown in dichloromethane/methanol, the molecular structure of which was clucidated by x~ray structure analysis. Crystal data at 185±2 K are a=10.6290(4), b=23.3624(10), c=17.5956(7) Å, β=105.8930(10)°, P2(1)/c, V=4202.3(3) Å^3, Z=5, R=0.0819 and wR=0.1988. According to the cyclic voltammetry, ligand oxidation occurred at lower potential than that of [(dppf)Pt]^2 for (dppf)Pt(ebmdt) and (dppf)Pt(bmddt), however, [(dppf)Pt]^2 oxidation was followed by the ligand decomposition for (dppf)Pt(deydt) complex.

        미나리과 산채의 아질산염 소거능

        The nitrite scavenging effect of three kinds of edible wild plants belong to Umbelliferaeceae family was investigated. The contents of crude protein, crude lipid and β-carotene of the plants were in the range of 22.99∼31.00%, 3.51∼5.08% and 5.40∼19.81 ㎎%, respectively. The content of ascorbic acid was very low and selenium was not detected in any samples. The contents of linoleic acid and linolenic acid were 66.46∼77.44%. The content of total phenol was 875.77 ㎎% in Ledebouriella seseloides WOLFF, which was the highest among the samples. The methanol fraction of the plant extract showed higher nitrite scavenging effect than the water fraction. The nitrite scavenging effects of the samples were the highest at pH 1.2 and lowest at pH 6.0, suggesting that it's pH dependent. Nitrite scavenging effect of methnol-soluble fractions obtained from Ledebouriella seseloides WOLFF was 95.3% at pH 1.2, which was the greatest among tested samples. There was a high correlation between the nitrite scavenging effect and the total phenol content.

      • 새로운 이핵 백금-디티올렌 화합물의 합성과 확인

        중성 리간드인 dppf를 사용하여 새로운 백금 화합물을 합성하고 적외선과 자외선 분광법에 의해서 분석하였다. 적외선 분광법에 의해서 페닐기의 방향족 C=C의 신축진동이 1600cm-1~1400cm-1에서 확인되었으며, dmit 화합물에서는 1053.2cm-1에서 C=S 신축진동이, i-mnt 화합물에서는 2210.6cm-1에서 C=N 신축진동이 확인되었다. 자외선 분광법에 의해서는 400nm~500nm에서 매우 약한 페로센의 d-d 전자전이를 보였다. 또한 dmit 화합물에서 C=S의 전자전이가 466nm에서 관측되었다. New platinum(II) complexes containing 1.1'-bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene (dppf) as a neutral ligand and 1.2-dithiolenes (dmit : dimercapto isotrithione; dddt : 5.6-dihyro-1.4-dithiin-2.3-dithiolate; phdt : 5-phenyl-6-hydro-1.4-dithiin-2.3-dithiolate; dphdt :5.6-diphenyl-1.4-dithiin-2.3-dithiolate; mtdt : 1.2-bis(methylthio)ethylene-1.2-dithiolate) or 1.1-dihiolene (i-mnt : isomalononitriledithiolate) were synthesized in three-solvent system (benzene : methanol : water = 1 : 1 : 1). The single crystals were grown by diffusion method using dichloromethane and methanol in freezer. These compounds were characterized by FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopic methods : In the FT-IR spectra, aromatic C=C stretching vibrations near 690~750cm-1 were observed in all Pt(dithiolene)(dppf) complexes. C=S stretching vibration of dmit ligand and C=N i-mnt ligand were also indexed at 1053.2cm-1 and 2210.6cm-1, respectively. electronic transition of phenyl group was observed between 215nm and 260nm while electronic absorption characteristic of C=S in dmit ligand appeared at 466nm in UV-vis spectra.

      • TTF(COO^-)_4 음이온이 삽입된 층상형 이중수산화물(LDH)

        본 연구에서 마그네슘과 알루미늄 LDH에 C_3S_3(COO^-)_2와 TFF(COO^-)_4를 음이온 교환은 통한 삽입(intercalation)하여 합성하고 적외선 분광과 x-선 회절 분석법에 의해 분석하였다. C_3S_3(COO^-)_2의 경우 적외선 분석에 의해서는 카르복실기의 존재가 확인되었지만 x-선 회절 분석에 의하면 층 자체가 깨어짐을 볼 수 있다. Mg^2+/Al^3+/NO_3^-에서 한 층의 간격이 7.7Å 인데 비해 Mg^2+/Al^3+/TTF(COO^-)_4의 한 층의 간격이 7.87Å로 음이온 교환에 의해 층 간격이 넓어졌음을 알 수 있다. 그러나 이 층의 간격이 TTF(COO^-)_4가 층에 수직인 상태로 삽입될 정도로 넓지 않아 층에 평행인 상태로 들어가 있음을 알 수 있다. 만약 M^2+/M^3+의 비를 조절하여 합성한다면 TTF(COO^-)_4가 수직인 상태로 삽입될 수 있음을 예측할 수 있다. New layered double hydroxide(LDH) intercalation complex of the type [Mg_l-xAl_x(OH)_2s][TTF(COO-)_4]_x/4g·zH_2O has been prepared by the direct method. According to the XRD measurement, interlayer space of the TTF(COO-)_4-intercalated complex(7.84A˘ ) is larger than that of NO_3 (7.7A˘). From these data we propose that TTF(COO-)_4 anions be lying in LHD layer, which is identified from the calculation of the charge density.

        Aurora kinases are essential for PKC-induced invasion and matrix metalloproteinase-9 expression in MCF-7 breast cancer cells

        <P>The Aurora kinase family of serine/threonine kinases are known to be crucial for cell cycle control. Aurora kinases are considered a target of anticancer drugs. However, few studies have assessed the effect of Aurora kinases in breast cancer. In the present study, to determine whether Aurora kinases play a role in oncogenic actions of protein kinase C (PKC), we investigated the effect of Aurora kinases on PKC-induced invasion and MMP-9 expression using breast cancer cells. Treatment of MCF-7 cells with 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) induced the upregulation and phosphorylation of Aurora kinases via the MAPK signaling pathway. Moreover, the inhibition of Aurora kinases by their siRNAs and inhibitors suppressed TPA-induced cell invasion and expression of MMP-9 by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB/AP-1, major transcription factors for MMP-9 expression in MCF-7 cells. These results suggested that Aurora kinases mediate PKC-MAPK signal to NF-κB/AP-1 with increasing MMP-9 expression and invasion of MCF-7 cells. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to show that Aurora kinases are key molecules in PKC-induced invasion in breast cancer cells.</P>

        ‘Let the Subaltern Speak’ : The Postcolonial Subtext in Monique Truong’s The Book of Salt

        Monique Truong, a Vietnamese American writer, probes the representation of the third world subject by letting her subaltern subject speak of his experience with Gertrude Stein in The Book of Salt. Binh, the subaltern chef in the novel, recounts his woeful experiences of living on the fringes of society, marginalized and stigmatized as the colonized. By engaging with the life of Gertrude Stein, Truong rewrites Stein from the perspective of the subaltern. In the process, Stein’s status as a writer is interrogated and challenged to critique western discourse represented by Stein. For much of the story, Stein is depicted as a master who provides a shelter to Binh. Yet, Stein is revealed by her colonial, nonchalant, and unimaginative approach to Binh’s experiences. Food functions as a powerful measure with which Binh navigates the multifaceted postcolonial world, picking his ways around the pitfalls of class, race, and sexuality. Empowered by the culinary techniques, Binh is able to destabilize the power relations and hierarchies which have been imposed on him by society. Binh turns his experiences of abjection into a compelling story of “salt,” through memory and imagination.

        Development of primer set for the identification of fish species in surimi products using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis

        <P>The purpose of this study was to develop a DNA marker for the identification of fish species in processed surimi products. A DNA marker was designed based on the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene, and fish species in surimi products were identified using a molecular fingerprinting technique, denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE); the results were subjected to sequence-based analysis. The DGGE profiles indicated the presence in surimi products of a greater diversity of fish species than reported previously: 20 species belonging to 16 genera were identified. Therefore, our method facilitates the simple and rapid detection and identification of fish species in seafood products produced from minced fish. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.</P>

      • Alcohol Induced Hepatic Degeneration in a Hepatitis C Virus Core Protein Transgenic Mouse Model

        <P>Hepatitis C virus (HCV) has become a major public health issue. It is prevalent in most countries. HCV infection frequently begins without clinical symptoms, before progressing to persistent viremia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the majority of patients (70% to 80%). Alcohol is an independent cofactor that accelerates the development of HCC in chronic hepatitis C patients. The purpose of the current study was to evaluate ethanol-induced hepatic changes in HCV core-Tg mice and mutant core Tg mice. Wild type (NTG), core wild-Tg mice (TG-K), mutant core 116-Tg mice (TG-116) and mutant core 99-Tg mice (TG-99) were used in this investigation. All groups were given drinking water with 10% ethanol and 5% sucrose for 13 weeks. To observe liver morphological changes, we performed histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations. Histopathologically, NTG, TG-K and TG-116 mice showed moderate centrilobular necrosis, while severe centrilobular necrosis and hepatocyte dissociation were observed in TG-99 mice with increasing lymphocyte infiltration and piecemeal necrosis. In all groups, a small amount of collagen fiber was found, principally in portal areas. None of the mice were found to have myofibroblasts based on immunohistochemical staining specific for α-SMA. CYP2E1-positive cells were clearly detected in the centrilobular area in all groups. In the TG-99 mice, we also observed cells positive for CK8/18, TGF-β1 and phosphorylated (p)-Smad2/3 and p21 around the necrotic hepatocytes in the centrilobular area (<I>p</I> < 0.01). Based on our data, alcohol intake induced piecemeal necrosis and hepatocyte dissociation in the TG-99 mice. These phenomena involved activation of the TGF-β1/p-Smad2/3/p21 signaling pathway in hepatocytes. Data from this study will be useful for elucidating the association between alcohol intake and HCV infection.</P>

        치과위생사의 조직문화가 치위생업무성과에 미치는 영향

        This study aims to identify the impact of organizational culture on the work ability of dental hygienists and to analyze the factors that affect dental hygiene work ability. The survey was conducted from August 1 to August 30, 2022, and involved 193 dental hygienists from U and D cities. The data analysis method was conducted using the SPSS 18.0 software. The analysis revealed that age, work experience, and position were the demographic and sociological characteristics with statistically significant differences in dental hygiene work ability. Relationship-oriented culture (β=0.446), career (β=–0.439), age (β=0.358), position (β=0.280), and work-oriented culture (β=0.167) were the most influential factors in dental hygiene work performance. Therefore, it is necessary to work for an extended period to enhance dental hygiene work capabilities and to cultivate a culture focused on relationships.

      • Effects of STAT gene silencing on nucleopolyhedrovirus survival in midgut cells from the beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua

        Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) signaling pathway is known to play a pivotal role in various cellular events and antiviral responses in both vertebrates and insects. In an attempt to elucidate the potential involvement of STAT on S. exigua-SeNPV interactions, the full length cDNA of SeSTAT was cloned from S. exigua. Analysis of temporal expression patterns shows that SeSTAT is expressed in all stages of life cycle such as larvae, pupae, and adult. Spatial expression analysis shows that it is highly expressed in fat body and Malpighian tubule. Interestingly, SeSTAT is induced at 24 h in response to either laminarin or LTA injection in larvae. Electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) shows that the binding of nuclear extracts from fat body cells immune-challenged with LTA to STAT5 probe was observed. In addition, SeSTAT was nuclear-translocalized in both fat body and gut cells that were challenged with LTA and laminarin, respectively. Finally, gene silencing of SeSTAT shows that SeNPV number appears to be increased. It suggests that SeSTAT may act as a negative regulator against SeNPV in midgut.
