This study presents the spray characteristics of high pressure swirl type gasoline injector for the application of direct-injection gasoline engine. For the purpose, Mie seattering technique and the PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) measurements were used for the fundamental spray characteristics, In-cylinder spray flow motion was also visualized in order to optimize combustion system of the engine. Various fuel injection conditions such as intake flow condition, different combustion chamber shape, fuel injection timing, and engine speed were considered to obtain the detailed in-cylinder spray characteristics by use of ICCD(Intensified Charge Coupled Device) camera through the single-cylinder potical engine. From the experimental results, the test injector shows a good low-end linearity between the dynamic flow and fuel injection pulse width and the fuel spray of 20mm or less in SMD(Sauter Mean Diameter) with good spray symmetry. In addition, the in-cylinder tumble flow has more effect on the homogeneous mixture formation than that of in-cylinder swirl flow at early injection mode and the in-cylinder swirl flow plays a better role of stratified mixture preparation than tumble flow at late injection mode.

This paper This paper presents effect of nozzle hole number on spray characteristics and engine performance. Experiments were conducted to measure spray penetration and SMD distributions using a spray visualization system and PDPA (phase Doppler particle analyzer) system. In addition, engine performance and emission characteristics were measured using a single cylinder engine and emssion measurement systems. Results showed that 8-hole-injector exhibits improved spray performances. Furthermore, soot emission was decreased with 8-hole-injector, compared to that of 6-hole-injector.

To evaluate the permeable pressure level of high pressure vessels and piping with limited timing and cost, statistics method was used to this calculation. To get the 1ppm permeable pressure level of products, did a 2 or 4 level`s impulse pressure test and got the pass & failure quantity at each pressure level. And logit distribution was used and plotted into probability paper. Minimum two point of pressure level and standard deviation, straight line is determinate by regression.

With the world-wide demand on the emission minimization, the needs on the diesel aftertreatment devices with high efficiency are also increasing. In order to effectively develop or design a high-performance diesel particulate filter, a clear understanding on the deposition and regeneration mechanism is required. In the present study, a theory on the lumped parameter model for wall-flow type diesel particulate filters is described focusing on the deposition efficiency, pressure drop inside the filter. The fourth order explicit Runge-Kutta method is utilized for the mass flow rate computation. Engine operation modes with controlled and uncontrolled regeneration options are selected. The computational lumped parameter model is validated by comparing the computed results with the measured data.

In order to improve the quality of air in urban areas, the emission regulations are being strengthened by the government. Therefore, the on-road test of light-duty vehicles was started with PEMS because certification test mode does not reflect on-road conditions. The PEMS-based test was implemented from Sep. 2017 in Europe and Korea. But, this is lack of data on various on-road patterns in Korea. The purpose of the present study has analyzed the effect of speed per acceleration and acceleration on NOx emission on-road driving. The test route consisted of urban, rural, and motorway in Chungju. This study has been conducted by Euro-6 vehicles equipped with SCR and PEMS. The on-road emission characteristics were evaluated by MAW (Moving averaging windows).
