SOME NEW CHARACTERIZATIONS OF QUASI-FROBENIUS RINGS BY USING PURE-INJECTIVITY

        Moradzadeh-Dehkordi, Ali Korean Mathematical Society 2020 대한수학회보 Vol.57 No.2

A ring R is called right pure-injective if it is injective with respect to pure exact sequences. According to a well known result of L. Melkersson, every commutative Artinian ring is pure-injective, but the converse is not true, even if R is a commutative Noetherian local ring. In this paper, a series of conditions under which right pure-injective rings are either right Artinian rings or quasi-Frobenius rings are given. Also, some of our results extend previously known results for quasi-Frobenius rings.

Novel High Step-Up DC/DC Converter Structure Using a Coupled Inductor with Minimal Voltage Stress on the Main Switch

Moradzadeh, Majid,Hamkari, Sajjad,Zamiri, Elyas,Barzegarkhoo, Reza The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.6

A high-step-up DC/DC converter for renewable energy systems is proposed. The proposed structure provides high voltage gain by using a coupled inductor without the need for high duty cycles and high turn ratios. The voltage gain is increased through capacitor-charging techniques. In the proposed converter, the energy of the leakage inductors of the coupled inductor is reused. This feature reduces the stress on the switch. Therefore, a switch with low ON-state resistance can be used in the proposed converter to reduce losses and increase efficiency. The main switch is placed in series with the source. Therefore, the converter can control the energy flow from the source to the load. The operating principle is discussed in detail, and a steady state analysis of the proposed converter is conducted. The performance of the proposed converter is verified by experimental results.

      • Misclassification Adjustment of Family History of Breast Cancer in a Case-Control Study: a Bayesian Approach

Moradzadeh, Rahmatollah,Mansournia, Mohammad Ali,Baghfalaki, Taban,Ghiasvand, Reza,Noori-Daloii, Mohammad Reza,Holakouie-Naieni, Kourosh Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.18

Background: Misreporting self-reported family history may lead to biased estimations. We used Bayesian methods to adjust for exposure misclassification. Materials and Methods: A hospital-based case-control study was used to identify breast cancer risk factors among Iranian women. Three models were jointly considered; an outcome, an exposure and a measurement model. All models were fitted using Bayesian methods, run to achieve convergence. Results: Bayesian analysis in the model without misclassification showed that the odds ratios for the relationship between breast cancer and a family history in different prior distributions were 2.98 (95% CRI: 2.41, 3.71), 2.57 (95% CRI: 1.95, 3.41) and 2.53 (95% CRI: 1.93, 3.31). In the misclassified model, adjusted odds ratios for misclassification in the different situations were 2.64 (95% CRI: 2.02, 3.47), 2.64 (95% CRI: 2.02, 3.46), 1.60 (95% CRI: 1.07, 2.38), 1.61 (95% CRI: 1.07, 2.40), 1.57 (95% CRI: 1.05, 2.35), 1.58 (95% CRI: 1.06, 2.34) and 1.57 (95% CRI: 1.06, 2.33). Conclusions: It was concluded that self-reported family history may be misclassified in different scenarios. Due to the lack of validation studies in Iran, more attention to this matter in future research is suggested, especially while obtaining results in accordance with sensitivity and specificity values.

      • Investigating 2-D MT inversion codes using real field data

        Ghaedrahmati, R.,Moradzadeh, A.,Fathianpour, N.,Lee, S. K. Springer Science + Business Media 2014 Arabian journal of geosciences Vol.7 No.6

There are currently a significant number of two-dimensional (2-D) and three-dimensional (3-D) inversion codes available for magnetotelluric (MT) data. Through various 2-D inversion algorithms suggested so far, the classical Occam's inversion, the data space Occam's inversion, the nonlinear conjugate gradient (NLCG) method, and the Gauss-Newton (GN) method are fundamental driving methods to find optimum earth models, and OCCAM, DASOCC, NLCG, and MT2DInvMatlab are possible candidates one can find in the public domain that implement these algorithms for 2-D MT inversions, respectively. In this study, we investigate the pros and cons (strength and weakness) of these codes to help one use them efficiently in practical works and, as an introductory guide, further develop (sophisticate or extend) them, especially for the 3-D case. To achieve this goal, we applied each one of the four aforementioned codes on a profile of real MT field dataset. Then, further investigations have been done by performing several inversion tests to see how each code can find the appropriate model to reconstruct the subsurface resistivity structure. Numerical experiments show that the two parameters, regularization and target misfit, in addition to the main criteria of inversion (such as the forward and the sensitivities calculation method, and the type of inversion algorithm), are very important to produce the expected model in inversion. The regularization parameter that acts to trade off between model norm and data misfit can affect the inversion process in terms of both the computational efficiency and the accuracy of the obtained model. Also, lack of insufficient precision to choose the target misfit can lead the inversion to produce and reach an incorrect model.

A Novel Switched Capacitor High Step-up dc/dc Converter Using a Coupled Inductor with its Generalized Structure

Hamkari, Sajjad,Moradzadeh, Majid,Zamiri, Elyas,Nasir, Mehdi,Hosseini, Seyed Hossein The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2017 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.17 No.3

In this study a new high step-up dc-dc converter is presented. The operation of the proposed converter is based on the capacitor switching and coupled inductor with a single active power switch in its structure. A passive voltage clamp circuit with two capacitors and two diodes is used in the proposed converter for elevating the converter's voltage gain with the recovered energy of the leakage inductor, and for lowering the voltage stress on the power switch. A switch with a low $R_{DS}$ (on) can be adopted to reduce conduction losses. In the generalized mode of the proposed converter, to reach a desired voltage gain, capacitor stages with parallel charge and series discharge techniques are extended from both sides of secondary side of the coupled inductor. The proposed converter has the ability to alleviate the reverse recovery problem of diodes with circuit parameters. The operating principle and steady-states analyses are discussed in detail. A 40W prototype of the proposed converter is implemented in the laboratory to verify its operation.

Bayesian testing of agreement criteria under order constraints

        M. Ganjali,N. Moradzadeh,T. Baghfalaki 한국통계학회 2017 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.46 No.1

The most popular criterion to measure the overall agreement between two raters is the Cohen’s kappa coefficient. This coefficient measures the agreement of two raters who judge about some subjects with a binary nominal rating. In this paper, we consider a unified Bayesian approach for testing some hypotheses about the kappa coefficients under order constraints. This is done for rating of more than two studies with binary response. The Monte Carlo Markov Chain (MCMC) approach is used for the model implementation. The approach is illustrated using some simulation studies. Also, the proposed method is applied for analyzing a real data set.

Optimal determination of rheological parameters for herschel-bulkleydrilling fluids using genetic algorithms (GAs)

        Reza Rooki,Faramarz Doulati Ardejani,Ali Moradzadeh,Hossein Mirzaei,Vassilios Kelessidis,Roberto Maglione,Mahmood Norouzi 한국유변학회 2012 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.24 No.3

The rheological properties of a drilling fluid directly affect flow characteristics and hydraulic performance. Drilling fluids containing bentonite mixtures exhibit non-Newtonian rheological behavior which can be described with a high degree of accuracy by the three-parameter Herschel-Bulkley (HB) model. To deter\-mine the HB parameters, standard statistical techniques, such as the non-linear regression (NL) method are routinely used. However, sometimes they provide non physically acceptable solutions which could produce wrong values of the significant hydraulic parameters which affect drilling operations. To obtain more accu\-rate results, the Golden Section (GS) method was subsequently developed by Kelessidis et al. (2006). In this work a different technique was developed using the Genetic Algorithms (GAs) to provide an easy-to-use tool in order to determine the three parameters of the Herschel-Bulkley model more accurately. To eval\-uate the accuracy of the GAs method, experimental viscometric data sets of drilling fluids were taken from the literature and the results were compared with the ones obtained by using the NL and GS techniques. The results show that the GAs and the GS methods provide similar results with very high correlation coef\-ficients and small sum of square errors for most of the samples exhibiting negative yield stress values by the NL technique, while giving similar to the NL technique for the samples that were predicted with positive yield stress. However, in some cases, the GAs method gives better and more realistic results than the GS method.
