Ramsonware: Holding your Data Hostage
( Erik Miranda Lopez ),( Seo Yeon Moon ),( Jong Hyuk Park ) 한국정보처리학회 2016 한국정보처리학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.23 No.1
In the recent years ransomware has become one of the most popular malware used by criminals. This particular type of malware is notorious for locking users' data or systems and unscrambling it only after the victims pay a fee. With more and more individuals, companies and public agencies being targeted and the ransom being as high as $17,000, the need for countermeasures against this kind of malware is greater than ever. This paper explores how the malware infects and encrypts its victims. Then, it suggests mitigation techniques based on how the ransomware spreads, making special emphasis on countermeasures in order to protect end-users.

Fermentation with filamentous fungi in a bioreactor is a complex dynamic process that is affected by flow conditions and the evolution of the rheological properties of the medium. These properties are mainly affected by the biomass concentration and the morphology of the fungus. In this work, the rheological properties of a fermentation with the fungus Beauveria bassiana under different hydrodynamic conditions were studied and the rheological behavior of this broth was simulated through a mixture of carboxymethyl cellulose sodium and cellulose fibers (CMCNa-SF). The bioreactor was a 10 L CSTR tank operated at different stir velocities. Rheological results were similar at 100 and 300 rpm for both systems. However, there was a significant increase in the viscosity accompanied by a change in the consistence index, calculated according to the power law model, for both systems at 800 rpm. The systems exhibited shear-thinning behavior at all stir velocities, which was determined with the power law model. The mixing time was observed to increase as the cellulose content in the system increased and, consequently, the efficiency of mixing diminished. These results are thought to be due to the rheological and morphological similarities of the two fungal systems. These results will help in the optimization of scale-up production of these fungi.

Employer branding is an approach used by different companies to maintain their current employment and attract individuals to join the company. This study aims to determine the effect of employer branding on turnover intention and employee satisfaction among the utility sectors in the Philippines. This paper provides additional support for the organizations present understanding by improving the employees motivation to stay in the company. Data were collected using survey questionnaires to two hundred (200) employees from different utility industry in Metro Manila. A quantitative approach has been applied in this study by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for testing the hypothesis. The result showed that employer branding and job satisfaction are positively related. And as job satisfaction increases;the turnover intention of employees decreases.

True aneurysmal disease in the carotid arteries is very uncommon, but individuals with this pathology face the grave risk of thromboembolism, which may consequently lead to cerebrovascular accidents. Clinical knowledge remains relatively limited owing to its rarity. We present the case of a 41-year-old obese female with a type II right extracranial internal carotid artery aneurysm incidentally found during imaging work-up. She underwent open surgical reconstruction with an autologous interposition graft from the common carotid artery to the internal carotid artery at the base level of the skull. Her postoperative period was uneventful, and the patient was discharged on postoperative day five with aspirin. At 12 months of follow-up, the patient remained symptom-free without complications.
