      • 實驗代案으로서의 役割演技에 關한 小考

        Deception has been widely used as an experimental technique in personality and social psychology. Kelman et al. point out the methodological and ethical issues of experiments, and suggest role playing technique as an alternative to experiment. This artical focuses on the availability of role playing as an alternative to experiment. The second part of this article explains the background to the emergence of role playing as an alternative to experiment in terms of the problem of experiment. The third part of this article shows the various alternative ways of utilizing role playing. These are the simple subsitutution for experiment, the side-by-side use with experiment, the use under circumstances for which experiment are not possible, and the use of role playing a theory. The fourth part of this article considers the problems of the role playing technique which are raised in each case mentioned above. In short, the data from role playing are people's guesses as to how they actually would behave, but people's guesses as to future or hypothetical situation. They are not the stuff of which a scence of human behavior is made. In conclusion, role playing tells us what man think they would do, but does not tell us what men would actually do in the real situtation. So role playing can not be an alternative to experimental research. It is marginally useful when used in conjuction with experiments in a series of studies. Experimental research is the foundation of the science of psychology and remain so.

      • 개망초(Erigeron annus)의 毒性物質이 몇가지 田作物의 發芽 및 生長에 미치는 影響

        개망초 (Erigeron annus)의 毒性物質이 몇 가지 田作物의 種子發芽 및 幼植物의 生長에 미치는 影響을 究明하고자, 개망초를 生育時期別, 部位別로 採取하여 生體水溶抽出液, 粉末抽出液 및 腐熟物, 그리고 망초(E. cannadensis)의 生體水溶抽出液으로 옥수수, 수수, 밭벼, 메밀, 콩, 팥, 녹도, 참깨, 들깨, 무우의 種子發芽 및 幼植物의 生長에 미치는 影響을 比較實驗한 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1) 生育中期의 개망초 地上部 및 뿌리의 水溶抽出液은 對照區에 比하여 供試作物의 發芽 및 幼植物의 生長을 有意하게 抑制시켰으나, 망초의 水溶抽出液은 抑制作用이 弱하였으며, 수수, 들깨, 녹두, 참깨, 밭벼는 오히여 促進되는 傾向이었다. 2) 生育中期의 개망초 部位別 抽出液은 莖端>잎>줄기 順으로 供試作物의 發芽 및 幼植物의 生長을 抑制시켰다. 3) 開花期의 部位別 抑制程度는 잎>줄기>뿌리 抽出液의 順으로 供試作物의 發芽 및 幼植物의 生長을 抑制시켰다. 4) 花器의 生育時期別 抑制程度는 結實期>開花期>어린 꽃봉우리의 抽出液 順으로 供試作物의 發芽 및 幼植物의 生長을 抑制하는 傾向이었다. 5) 生育時期別 抑制程度는 生育初期의 地上部 抽出液이 가장 抑制的이었고, 中期 및 開花期의 抽出液은 作物에 따라 달랐다. 6) 腐熟物 混合栽培結果, 混合量이 많을수록 抑制되었으며, 抑制時期는 腐熟物 5% 混合區(개망초 0.7%)에서는 發芽期~本葉 1~2 ?期까지의 幼植物이었으며, 本葉 3~4?期 부터는 서서히 回復되었으나, 腐熟物 10% 混合區 (개망초 1.4%) 에서는 回復되지 않았다. 7) 참깨는 개망초의 잎, 莖端, 꽃 抽出液에서는 줄기나 뿌리 抽出液 또는 對照區에 比하여 强한 選擇抑制作用을 받았다. 8) 개망초의 毒性物質이 供試作物의 發芽 및 幼植物의 生長에 미치는 程度에 따라 抑制에 强한 作物과 弱한 物質로 分類하면 다음과 같다. ① 發芽에 미치는 影響 ㄱ. 强한 作物 ; 밭벼, 수수, 녹두, 콩, 팥, 메밀 ㄴ. 弱한 作物 ; 옥수수, 참깨, 들깨, 무우 ② 幼植物 生長에 미치는 影響 ㄱ. 强한 作物 ; 수수, 팥, 녹두, 콩 ㄴ. 弱한 作物 ; 옥수수, 밭벼, 메밀, 참깨, 무우, 들깨 Present experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of toxic subtances of Erigeron annus on the seed germination and seeding growth of several field crops with water extracts, powder extracts, and humic substances of Erigeron annus by growth stages or organs, as well as with water extracts of Erigeron canadensis. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Water extracts of leaves and stems or root of E.annus before blooming showed significantly a tendency to be inhibitory germination and seedling growth of upland crops, whereas those of E. canadensis did weakly inhibitory, but seedling growth of sorghum, perilla, mung bean and sesam were rather promoted as compared with control. 2. Water extracts of apical stems, leaves, or stems of E.annus before blooming were inhibitory to the germination and seedling growth of species tested in turn, apical stems>leaves>stems. 3. Water extracts of E. annus by organs at blooming period were inhibitory to the germination and seedling growth of species tested in turn, leaves>flowers>stems>roots. 4. Powder extracts of flowers of E. annus by growth stages were inhibitory to the germination and seedling growth of species tested in turn, bearing season>blooming period>flower bud. 5. In the extent of the inhibition of E. annus by growth stages, powder extracts of the leaves and stems in the early season was most inhibitory and those in the before blooming or blooming period were differed from species tested. 6. In the mixed culture with humic substances of E. annus, seedling growth of species tested were inhibited in directly proportion to concentration. The inhibited period in 0.7% mixed plots was from germination to the first or second main leaf stage and since the third or fourth main leaf stage of the inhibited crops those were recovered, but those in 1.4% mixed plots were not recovered. 7. The germination and seedling growth of sesame were inhibited most selectly in the extracts of apical stem, leaf, or flower, whereas were not inhibited in the extracts of stem or root of E. annus. 8. According to the extent of the inhibition of the toxic substances of E. annus on the germination and seedling growth, species tested were classificated as follows; 1) Effects of the toxic substances of E. annus on the seed germination. (1) Crops which were not inhibited were upland rice, sorghum, mung bean, soubean, azuki bean, and buck wheat. (2) Crops which were inhibited were maize, sesame, perilla, and radish. 2) Effects of the toxic subtances of E. annus on the seedling growth. (1) Crops which were not inhibited were maize, sorghum, azuki bean mung bean and soybean. (2) Crops which were inhibited were upland rice, buck wheat, sesame, perilla, and radish.

        This paper analyze spectrum of vibration-frequencies to reduce noise level of d transformer. Using loading back method on same condition of real load to grasp th core and winding which are caused by the transformer vibration. We were mea vibration-frequency by varing appiled voltage and load current of a transformer. cause of a transformer vibration is occured by the harmonic effects, and was identifi vibration is less influenced by the coil. As the result of this paper, comparing the transformer with some isolated materi general transformer, the transformer with some isolated material could reduc amplitude of vibration-frequencies.

        Turbulence Enhancement by Ultrasonically Induced Gaseous Cavitation in the $CO_2$Saturated Water

        Recent primary concern for the design of high performance heat exchanger and highly integrated electronic equipments is to develop an active and creative technologies which enhance the heat transfer without obstructing the coolant flows. In this study, we found through the LDV measurement that the gaseous cavitation induced by ultrasonic vibration applied to the CO$_2$saturated water in the square cross-sectioned straight duct flow enhances the turbulence much more than the case of non-ultrasonic or normal ultrasonic conditions without gaseous cavitation does. We also found that gaseous cavitation can enhance effectively the turbulent heat transfer between the heating surfaces and coolants by destructing the viscous sublayer.

        Turbulence Generation by Ultrasonically Induced Gaseous Cavitation in the CO₂ Saturated Water Flow

        Emission of ultrasonic vibration to turbulent flow promotes the turbulence generation due to the resonantly oscillating pressure field and thereby induced cavitation. In addition, ultrasonic vibration is well transmitted through water and not dissipated easily so that the micro-bubbles involved in the fluid induce the gaseous cavitation if the bubbles are resonated with the ultrasonic field. In the present study, we found through LDV measurement that the gaseous cavitation induced by ultrasonic vibration to CO₂ saturated water flow in the rectangular cross­sectioned straight duct enhances turbulence much more than the case of non-ultrasonic or normal ultrasonic conditions without gaseous cavitation. We also found that. the fluctuating velocity component induced by emitting the ultrasonic vibration in normal direction of a rectangular channel flow can be redistributed to stream-wise component by the agitation of gaseous cavitation.

        The genial tubercle : A prospective novel landmark for the diagnosis of mandibular asymmetry

        Introduction: Identifying menton (Me) on posteroanterior cephalograms and three-dimensional (3D) cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images is difficult, because the midpoint of the symphyseal area is not identifiable after the mandibular symphysis fuses at an early age. The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability of the identification of the genial tubercle (GT) in patients with mandibular asymmetry and to compare it with that of the traditional landmark, Me. Methods: The samples comprised 20 CBCT images of adults with mandibular asymmetry. Two examiners performed the identifications and measurements. Me and GT were marked, and the anteroposterior, vertical, and transverse distances to the three reference planes were measured on 3D-reconstructed CBCT images. The intra- and inter-examiner reliability of landmark identification of Me and GT were assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman plots. Results: The Me and GT landmarks showed excellent reliability (ICC ≥ 0.993) three-dimensionally. In the transverse evaluation, the ICC values of the GT (range, 0.997–0.999) tended to be slightly higher than those of Me (range, 0.993–0.996). In the Bland-Altman plots for the two separate assessments, Me showed a maximum error of 1.76 mm in the transverse direction, whereas the GT showed a maximum error of 0.96 mm in the 95% limit. Conclusions: Our results suggest that both Me and GT are clinically reliable and equally useful landmarks for the evaluation of mandibular asymmetry on CBCT images.

        A randomized, multicenter, phase III study of gemcitabine combined with capecitabine versus gemcitabine alone as first-line chemotherapy for advanced pancreatic cancer in South Korea

        <▼1><P>Supplemental Digital Content is available in the text</P></▼1><▼2><P><B>Abstract</B></P><P><B>Background:</B></P><P>This phase III trial compared the efficacy and safety of gemcitabine plus capecitabine (GemCap) versus single-agent gemcitabine (Gem) in advanced pancreatic cancer as first-line chemotherapy.</P><P><B>Methods:</B></P><P>A total of 214 advanced pancreatic cancer patients were enrolled from 16 hospitals in South Korea between 2007 and 2011. Patients were randomly assigned to receive GemCap (oral capecitabine 1660 mg/m<SUP>2</SUP> plus Gem 1000 mg/m<SUP>2</SUP> by 30-minute intravenous infusion weekly for 3 weeks followed by a 1-week break every 4 weeks) or Gem (by 30-minute intravenous infusion weekly for 3 weeks every 4 weeks).</P><P><B>Results:</B></P><P>Median overall survival (OS) time, the primary end point, was 10.3 and 7.5 months in the GemCap and Gem arms, respectively (<I>P</I> = 0.06). Progression-free survival was 6.2 and 5.3 months in the GemCap and Gem arms, respectively (<I>P</I> = 0.08). GemCap significantly improved overall response rate compared with Gem alone (43.7% vs 17.6%; <I>P</I> = 0.001). Overall frequency of grade 3 or 4 toxicities was similar in each group. Neutropenia was the most frequent grade 3 or 4 toxicity in both groups.</P><P><B>Conclusion:</B></P><P>GemCap failed to improve OS at a statistically significant level compared to Gem treatment. This study showed a trend toward improved OS compared to Gem alone. GemCap and Gem both exhibited similar safety profiles.</P></▼2>
