Inactivation of Photosystem I in Cucumber Leaves Exposed to Paraquat-Induced Oxidative Stress

Cucumber leaves subjected to light chilling stress exhibit a preferential inactivation of photosystem(PS) I relative to PSII, resulting in the photoinhibition of photosynthesis. In light chilled cucumber leaves, Cu/Zn-Superoxide dismutase(SOD) is regarded as a primary target of the light chilling stress and its inactivation is closely related to the increased production of reactive oxygen species. In the present study, we further explored that inactivation of PSI in cucumber leaves is not a light chilling specific, but general to various oxidative stresses. Oxidative stress in cucumber leaves was induced by treatment of methylviologen(MV), a producer of reactive oxygen species in chloroplasts. MV treatment decreased the maximal photosynthetic O$_2$ evolution, resulting in the photoinhibition of photosynthesis. The photoinhibition of photosynthesis was attributable to the decline in PSI functionality determined in vivo by monitoring absorption changes around 820 nm. In addition, MV treatment inactivated both antioxidant enzymes Cu-Zn-superoxide dismutase and ascorbate peroxidase known sensitive to reactive oxygen species. From these results, we suggest that chloroplast antioxidant enzymes are the primary targets of photooxidative stress, followed by subsequent inactivation of PSI.

본 연구에서는 양쪽 대칭으로 지지할 수 있는 쉴드캔 클립을 제안하며, 그 특징은 장착과 탈착의 하중을 일 정하게 하고 납땜 부위의 평판도를 유지 할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 또한 인쇄회로기판에 부착 고정되는 베이스부 및 쉴드캔의 측벽을 집게 형태로 집을 수 있도록 하는 클립부로 구성되며, 클립부 중앙을 절단하여 2군데를 지지 할 수 있게 이루어진다. 또한 넓어진 베이스부와 인쇄회로기판 사이에 납땜이 잘될 수 있도록 오목한 홈을 만들었다. 연구 절차는 우선 메커니즘을 설정하고 구조해석 및 진동모드 해석을 수행하여 설계변수를 확정한 후, 제품을 설계하였다. 제조를 위한 전용기를 개발한 후 시제품을 제작하여 성능 평가 후 해석값과 비교 분석하였다. This study proposes an structure that fixes the shielding device to two parts of the board by its two arranged clips. Said structure evenly distributes its loading/unloading load of the board and maintains the flatness of soldering area of the board. The structure of this study comprises a base part fixed to a printed circuit board and a clip part fixing a side wall of a shield can to the board, wherein the clip part is constituted with two clips fixable to two part of the shield can. Also, the structure of this study comprises a dented groove in order to easily solder the base part of clips and the printed circuit board. A mechanism is established and a design parameter was determined by a structure analysis and a vibration mode analysis. A single purpose machine for the production of the product was developed, the final workpiece was produced and the measuring-data and the computered-data was compared and reviewed.
Expression Profiling of Cultivar-related Genes in Satsuma Mandarins, Miyagawa Wase and Ueno Wase

Satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc.) is characterized by its tender peel and seedless nature. The representative cultivar of Satsuma mandarin is Miyagawa wase. Another cultivar, Ueno wase was developed from the bud mutation of a Miyagawa wase tree. Compared to Miyagawa wase fruit, Ueno wase fruit is known to have less albedo, higher sugar content, and to mature earlier. To find genes related to this bud mutation, a citrus 300 k DNA micro array was developed for gene expression analyses of the fruits and leaves of each cultivar. When up-regulated genes were classified in the Cluster of Orthologous Groups of proteins database, the number of genes included differed significantly between the two cultivars. Ten genes, including cytochrome P450, ${\alpha}$-mannosidase, S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase, carboxyesterase, anthranilate synthase, glycosyl hydrolase family-17, ethylene response factor subfamily, and alcohol dehydrogenase, showing significant differences in gene expression by DNA micro array were selected, and their expression patterns were examined by RT-PCR. The information gained from genes that are up (or down)-regulated upon bud mutation may explain the observed phenotypes, while also increasing the understanding of genes related to citrus bud mutation.
Study on the performance of radiator heat pipes

This study conducts heat radiation experiments at varying temperatures using rectangular heat pipes, and evaluated and analyzes performance. The heat transfer performance of the heat pipe is evaluated according to the temperature change of the working fluid inside the pipes. Also, a general analysis of temperature changes according to variations in heat pipe thickness is performed to deduce optimal design variables. This is intended to make possible the utilization of heat pipes in more various fields.
