Caffeoyl Shikimate Esterase has a Role in Endocarp Lignification in Peach (Prunus persica L.) Fruit

        Jinyi Liu,Xiao Hu,Jia Yu,Aizhen Yang,Yueping Liu 한국원예학회 2017 원예과학기술지 Vol.35 No.1

Caffeoyl shikimate esterase (CSE) is a key enzyme in lignin synthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana. To determine the role of CSE in lignification of the endocarp in peach (Prunus persica L.) fruit, we cloned and characterized the P. persica CSE homolog, which we designated PpCSE. The 954 - bp PpCSE gene encoded a 317 - amino acid polypeptide. PpCSE expression patterns in the mesocarp and endocarp changed during peach fruit development. There was no significant difference between the expression levels of PpCSE in the mesocarp and endocarp at 39 and 44 days after full bloom (DAFB), but the expression level of PpCSE in the endocarp at 50 and 55 DAFB was 80.73 and 72.75 times higher, respectively, than that in the mesocarp. During peach fruit development, PpCSE expression in the endocarp increased rapidly; the relative PpCSE expression level at 50 DAFB was 122.70 times higher than that at 39 DAFB. At the protein level, CSE was detected in the peach fruit endocarp at 50 and 55 DAFB. Our study suggests that PpCSE expression during peach fruit development is closely related to the degree of endocarp lignification.

        A Ringed Dwarf LINER 1 Galaxy Hosting an Intermediate-mass Black Hole with Large-scale Rotation-like ${\rm{H}}\alpha $ Emission

        Liu, Wen-Juan,Qian, Lei,Dong, Xiao-Bo,Jiang, Ning,Lira, Paulina,Cai, Zheng,Wang, Feige,Yang, Jinyi,Xiao, Ting,Kim, Minjin American Astronomical Society 2017 The Astrophysical journal Vol.837 No.2

We report the discovery of a 20 kpc sized H alpha emission in SDSS J083803.68+540642.0, a ringed dwarf galaxy (M-V = -17.89 mag) hosting an accreting intermediate-mass black hole at z = 0.02957. Analysis of the Hubble Space Telescope images indicates that it is an early-type galaxy with a featureless low-surface brightness disk (mu(0) = 20.39 mag arcsec(-2) in the V band) and a prominent, relatively red bulge (V - I = 2.03, R-e = 0.28 kpc or 0 48) that accounts for approximate to 81% of the total light in the I band. A circumgalactic ring of a diameter 16 kpc is also detected, with a disperse shape on its south side. The optical emission lines reveal the nucleus to be a broad-line LINER. Our MMT longslit observation indicates that the kinematics of the extended H alpha emission is consistent with a rotational gaseous disk, with a mean blueshifted velocity of 162 km s(-1) and mean redshifted velocity of 86 km s(-1). According to our photoionization calculations, the large-scale H alpha emission is unlikely to be powered by the central nucleus or by hot evolved (post-AGB) stars interspersed in the old stellar populations, but by in situ star formation; this is vindicated by the line-ratio diagnostic of the extended emission. We propose that both the ring and large-scale H alpha-emitting gas are created by the tidal accretion in a collision-and then merger-with a gas-rich galaxy of a comparable mass.

      • A RESEARCH ON NATURAL SCENERY SIMULATION BASED ON THE FREE SURFACE AND THE L SYSTEM

        Yan Zhang,Mingshu Zhang,Jinyi Liu,Yunping Han 한국멀티미디어학회 2006 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2006 No.-

The natural scenes include trees, flowers, the sky, clouds and terrains. Combining construction principle of free curved surfaces with the L system technique, the paper focus on studying the simulation algorithm of natural scenes located in the special geographical environment which is made up of terrains, trees and woods. The main contents include: (1) according to the properties of B-spline surfaces, constructing reasonable geometry data to form varied terrains(the apex of a mountain, vale and different regions' smooth transition); (2)applying the L system to the simulation of self-similar plants and implementing the example design; (3) adopting random factors to generate the scene of man-made woods and naturally grown woods in the special geographical environment. The research is achieved under the circumstance of ObjectARX. Algorithm implementation makes fully use of computing ability of VC and 3D graph generating ability of AutoCAD. The simulation results can be viewed from different visual angles under the circumstance of AutoCAD. The example research shows that the combination of free curved surfaces and the L system can construct diversified natural scenes.

Correlation between fat accumulation and fecal microbiota in crossbred pigs

        Li Xin,Li Mengyu,Han Jinyi,Liu Chuang,Han Xuelei,Wang Kejun,Qiao Ruimin,Li Xiu-Ling,Li Xin-Jian 한국미생물학회 2022 The journal of microbiology Vol.60 No.11

Backfat thickness (BF) is an important indicator of fat deposition capacity and lean meat rate in pigs and is very important in porcine genetics and breeding. Intestinal microbiota plays a key role in nutrient digestion and utilization with a profound impact on fat deposition of livestock animals. To investigate the relationship between the pig gut microbiome and BF, 20 low-BF (L-BF) and 20 high-BF (H-BF) pigs were selected as two groups from Yunong Black pigs in the present study. Fecal samples from pigs were analyzed for microbial diversity, composition, and predicted functionality using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The results showed that there were significant differences in microbial β diversity between the two groups. LEfSe analysis revealed a number of bacterial features being differentially enriched in either L-BF or H-BF pigs. Spearman correlation analysis identified the abundance of Oscillospira, Peptococcus, and Bulleidia were significantly positive correlations with BF (P < 0.05), while Sutterella and Bifidobacterium were significantly negatively correlated with BF (P < 0.05). Importantly, the bacteria significantly positively correlated with BF mainly belong to Clostridium, which can ferment host-indigestible plant polysaccharides into shortchain fatty acid (SCFA) and promote fat synthesis and deposition. Predictive functional analysis indicated that the pathway abundance of cell motility and glycan biosynthesis were significantly widespread in the microbiota of the H-BF group. The results of this study will be useful for the development of microbial biomarkers for predicting and improving porcine BF, as well as for the investigation of targets for dietary strategies.
