척수경색으로 인한 하지마비 환자의 복합한방치료: 증례보고

The objective of this study was to purpose korean medicine treatment for paraplegia and hypoesthesia after spinal cord infarction, and report its effectiveness. We treated a 74-year-old male patient diagnosed with spinal cord infarction using various methods, including acupuncture, herbal medication, moxibustion, physical therapy, western medication. We evaluated patient's motor ability using the manual muscle test (MMT), active range of motion (AROM), walking index for spinal cord injury Ⅱ( WISCI Ⅱ) and sense ability using International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI). After treatment, motor and sense ability of patient was improved after treatment. The MMT, AROM, WISCI Ⅱ scores and ISNCSCI scores were numerically improved. According to these results, this study suggested effectiveness of combined Korean medical treatment for spinal cord infarction. However, More studies are required in the future. Dynamic Erase Voltage and Time Scaling for Extending Lifetime of NAND Flash-Based SSDs

<P>The decreasing lifetime of NAND flash memory, as a side effect of recent advanced semiconductor process scaling, is emerging as one of major barriers to the wide adoption of SSDs in high-performance computing systems. In this paper, we propose Dynamic Erase Voltage and Time Scaling (DeVTS), an integrated approach to extend the lifetime (particularly, endurance) of NAND flash memory. DeVTS is motivated by our key observation that erasing a NAND block with a lower voltage or at a slower speed can significantly improve NAND endurance. However, using a lower erase voltage causes adverse side effects on the write performance and retention capability of NAND flash memory. In order to improve NAND endurance without affecting the other NAND requirements, we take advantage of idle times between write requests and variations of the retention requirement when writing data to a NAND block erased with a lower voltage. We have implemented a DeVTS-aware FTL, called dvsFTL, which exploits the tradeoff relationship between the endurance and erase voltages/times by accurately predicting the write performance and retention requirements. Our experimental results show that dvsFTL can improve NAND endurance by 94 percent, on average, over an existing DeVTS-unaware FTL while all the NAND requirements are preserved.</P>

현재 자동차의 변화를 이끄는 흐름에서 가장 핵심이 되고 있는 유형 Sport Utility Vehicle은 전천후 기동성 측면과 Sports성을 중심적인 특성으로 다루고 있다. 그러나 SUV로서 off road 중심의 공간 활용 보다는 실내 공간 중심의 활용이 더욱 중요한 특성으로 자리잡고 있다. 이러한 경향은 주 5일 근무 정착에 따른 여가 시간의 증가와 아울러 보다 다양한 직업과 생활 패턴 등에 따라 더욱 두드러질 것으로 보인다. 이러한 근 미래 변화에 대응하는 방법으로 기존의 SUV type에서 탈피하여 sports성을 반영하는 동시에 보다 utility적 활용 중심의 특성을 가지는 XUV (eXtreme Utility Vehicle)라는 새로운 유형을 2010년 시점의 근 미래 테크놀러지와 조형성의 동향 예측, 사용자 요구점 분석 포지셔닝 등을 통해 제안한다.
한국인 건선환자 30명을 대상으로 5년동안 Ustekinumab과 Topical Agent 병용치료의 효과에 대한 후향적 연구

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder affecting approximately 1∼3% of the general population. Ustekinumab is a recently developed human monoclonal antibody for psoriasis that binds to the p40 subunit shared by the interleukins IL-12 and IL-23. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of combination treatment with ustekinumab and topical agents in 30 Korean patients with psoriasis regarding different clinical parameters. Methods: We retrospectively searched to identify patients with moderate-to-severe plaque-type psoriasis who had initiated treatment with ustekinumab between January 2012 and January 2016. Among them, our study was conducted in 30 patients with psoriasis who were treated with ustekinumab and topical agents for at least 16 weeks by analyzing their clinical charts and photographs. Results: Overall, 16.7%, 93.3%, and 96.2% patients achieved PASI 75 response rates at weeks 4, 16, and 40, respectively. Furthermore, fifteen patients achieved 90% improvement in their PASI score at 100 weeks and five patients maintained their PASI score at 160 weeks. The efficacy of treatment with ustekinumab was different in sub-group analysis. Non-smokers enjoyed a higher therapeutic effect than did smokers. In addition, the therapeutic effect of ustekinumab was lower in the groups with psoriatic arthritis and nail psoriasis. However, it was not statistically significant. None of the patients experienced serious adverse events requiring the interruption of treatment. Conclusion: Combination treatment with ustekinumab and topical agents provides effective treatment results for Korean patients with psoriasis. (Korean J Dermatol 2017;55(3):171∼177)

Palmoplantar keratodermas (PPKs) are characterized by a thickening of the skin on the palms and soles of the feet caused by excessive keratin. Four forms can be seen, including diffuse, focal, punctate, and palmoplantar ectodermal dysplasias. Idiopathic, acquired PPKs should be reserved as a diagnosis of exclusion, when all the other etiologies have been investigated and ruled out. Herein, we report four cases of acquired punctate palmoplantar keratoderma with literature reviews. (Korean J Dermatol 2018;56(2):126∼129)

<P>As a guide for selective reactions toward either Z- or E-alkene in a metathesis reaction, the relative preference of metathesis Ru catalysts for each stereoisomer was determined by a method using time-dependent fluorescence quenching. We found that Ru-1 prefers the Z-isomer over the E-isomer, whereas Ru-2 prefers the E-isomer over the Z-isomer. The Z/E-alkene preference of the catalysts precisely predicted the Z/E isomeric selectivity in the metathesis reactions of diene substrates possessing combinations of Z/E-alkenes. For the diene substrates, the rate order of the reactions using Ru-1 was Z,Z-1,6-diene > Z,E-1,6-diene > E,E-1,6-diene, while the completely opposite order of E,E-1,6-diene > Z,E-1,6-diene > Z,Z-1,6-diene was exhibited in the case of Ru-2.</P>

The preference of Ru metathesis catalysts for each of the E- and Z-alkenes was determined by time-dependent fluorescence quenching method. In the metathesis reactions of diene substrates containing combinations of Z/E-alkenes, the Z/E-alkene preference of the catalysts accurately predicted the Z/E-isomer selectivity.
