        National post-market surveillance assessment of veterinary medicines in Korea during 2018-2021

        Veterinary medicines have been widely used for disease protection, growth promotion, and feed efficacy development of animals. Along with development of livestock and pet industry, veterinary medicine market in Korea has increased up to 1 billion US dollar in 2021. The national post-market surveillance (NMS) assessment is important system to manage quality control of veterinary medicines that have reached the open market in Korea. In this study, post marketed veterinary medicines have been analyzed particularly for the active ingredient contents based on the rule, “Tips on animal pharmaceutical audit” and monitored the noncomplicant compounds for prevention of adverse drug event. 6,620 veterinray medicines were chosen by NVRQS-SE10-V1 software program which we developed annually in Korea during 2018-2021. The programe chooses veterinary medicines which is 70% were selected products with high sales in order, 20% were selected products with low sales randomly and 10% were noncompliant product from last year automatically, as we input year`s sales and noncompliant product data. The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) leads collection of veterinary medicines from manufacturing companies, drug stores, and hospitals. The NMS assay was analyzed particularly for the active ingredient ingredients performed using liquid and gas chromatography, titration, UV/Vis spectrophometer, pH, and bioassay in Korea Animal Health Production Association (KAHPA). A total of 129 cases were deemed noncompliant and the average noncompliance rate for veterinray medicines was 1.9%. Among noncompliant products violating regulations, the leading cause was insufficient quantity of major ingredients. The compounds found to be noncompliant most frequently were tylosin, spiramycin, ampicillin, amoxicillin and colistin, respectively In this study, we analyzed the results of post marketing surveillance assay from 2018 to 2021 particularly violation rate and pattern. The overall trend indicated gradually decreasing noncompliance rate from 2.7% to 1.6%, suggesting that the quality of veterinary medicines has improved according to the steadily NMS assay and settlement of Korea Veterinary Good Manufacturing Practice (KVGMP) system.

        Development of analytical method for determination 8 amino acids and its validation for veterinary use by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

        The objective of this study was to develop a simultaneous method for 8 amino acids including alanine, arginine, glutathione, lysine, ornithine, methionine, threonine and tryptophan in veterinary products using LC-MS/MS. To optimize MS analytical condition of 8 amino acids, each parameter was established by multiple reaction monitoring in positive mode. The chromatogram separation was achieved on a C18 column with mobile phase of 0.1% formic acid in D.W. and 0.1% formic acid in acetonitrile for green technology at a flow rate of 0.4mL/min for 5 min with gradient elution. The developed method was validated for mass accuracy, precision, linearity in veterinary products. Calibration curves were linear over the calibration ranges (0.5 - 10 mg/L) for all the analytes r2>0.99. Average recoveries were 92.96 - 105.61% and relative standard deviations (RSD) were 0.27 - 3.5%. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.04 - 0.83 mg/L and 0.12 - 2.52 mg/L, respectively. All values were corresponded with the criteria ranges requested by CD 2002/657/EC. The application of this method will be helpful in quality control analysis of amino acids in veterinary products.

        매립석탄회를 혼합한 유동성 충진재의 동적거동특성

        최근 도심지의 구조물 건설 시 다양한 라이프라인이 공간의 효율적인 활용 측면에서 지중에 매설되고 있으며, 이러한 라이프라인의 신설 및 유지보수 등을 위해 굴착이나 뒤채움 작업이 빈번하게 이루어지고 있다. 라이프라인 매설 시 지반을 굴착하며, 매설 후 채움재 모래를 사용하여 되메움을 하는 것이 일반적이다. 이러한 경우 통신관, 가스관, 상하수도 등의 관하부와 측면 좁은 공간의 뒤채움은 다짐작업이 어려우며, 다짐작업 시 토사의 특성상 추가적으로 침하가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 미국 및 일본 등과 같은 선진국에서 건설 발생토를 재활용하여 잔토처리 비용을 줄이고, 충분한 유동성을 확보한 유동성 채움재가 사용되고 있다. 또한 지중 매설관 건설 외에도 기초 하부 지반의 보강에도 유동성 채움재를 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 특히 기계 기초 하부 지지층이 연약한 경우, 유동성 채움재를 적용하여 빠른 시간 안에 지반을 개량하는 목적에 적합할 것으로 판단된다. 특히 기계 기초 하부 지지층의 경우, 단순한 기계 하중에 의한 정적 지지력 산정뿐만 아니라 기계의 진동에 의한 동적 하중이 가해지므로 기초 하부 지지층의 동적거동특성이 평가되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 유동성 채움재를 기계 기초 지지층으로 활용하는데 있어서의 적용성을 판별하기 위해 국내에서 일반적으로 볼 수 있는 점토와 황토를 현장발생토로 가정하여 세립분 함량을 달리한 유동성 채움재의 강도 및 동적 거동특성을 파악하였다. 또한 현장 발생토를 대신하여 산업 폐기물인 매립석탄회를 활용하여 유동성 채움재를 조성하여 그 성능을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 매립석탄회를 혼합하여 사용한 경우, 일반적인 건설발생토를 사용한 경우보다 높은 7일 재령 강도와 전단탄성계수를 보였다. Recently, there have been various lifeline installations constructed in the underground space of urban area due to the effective use of land. For newly installed lifelines or the management of the installed lifelines, many construction activities of excavation and backfilling are observed. Around these area, there are possibilities of collapse or excessive settlement due to the leaking of the pipe or unsatisfactory compaction of backfill material. Besides, construction costs can be saved since the on-site soils are used. The application of this liquidity filling material is not only to the lifeline installation but also to underpin the foundation under the vibrating machinery. On the evaluation of the applicability of this method to this circumstance, the strength should be investigated against the static load from the machine load as well as the vibration load from the activation of the machine. In this study, the applicability of the liquidity fill material on the foundation under the vibrating machinery is assessed via uniaxial compression and resonant column tests. The liquidity filling material consisting of the on-site soils with loess and kaolinite are tested to investigate the static and dynamic characteristics. Furthermore, the applicability of the reclaimed ash categorized as an industrial waste is evaluated for the recycle of the waste to the construction materials. The experimental results show that the shear modulus and 7 day uniaxial strength of the liquidity filling material mixed with reclaimed ash show higher than those with the on-site soils. However, the damping ratio does not show any tendency on the mixed materials.

        국내 사회정서학습(SEL) 프로그램 효과에 관한 메타분석

        본 연구는 사회정서학습(SEL) 프로그램이 국내에서 어떠한 효과를 보이고 있는지(전체 평균 효과, 조절변인, 종속변인) 메타분석을 통해 검증하였다. 연구의 목적을 위해 2011년부터 2020년까지 국내에서 출간된 20편의 논문에서 43개의 효과 크기를 선정하고 R 프로그램을 활용하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 국내 사회정서학습(SEL) 프로그램의 전체 평균 효과 크기는 0.79로 Cohen(1988)의 기준에 의하면 중간 효과 크기를 나타낸다. 둘째, 국내 사회정서학습(SEL) 프로그램 조절변인의 효과 크기는 아동을 대상으로 16회기 이상, 주 3회 이상 20~40분의 프로그램을 실시할 때 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 국내 사회정서학습(SEL) 프로그램 종속변인의 효과 크기는 사회정서학습 역량의 효과 크기가 1.04로 가장 컸으며, 큰 효과 크기를 나타냈다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 프로그램 개발 및 실행에 있어서 프로그램의 질을 높일 수 있는 기준을 마련하고, 다양한 인성교육 프로그램을 필요에 따라 선택하고 비교해볼 수 있는 종합적 관리 시스템을 마련하는 것이 필요함을 시사한다. This study verifies the effect (overall average, moderator variables, and dependent variables) of the social-emotional learning (SEL) programs performed in South Korea through meta-analysis. For the purpose of the study, 43 effect sizes were selected from 20 papers published in South Korea from 2011 to 2020. We conducted meta-analysis using the R program. Result of the study are as follows. First, the overall average effect size of the SEL programs was 0.79, indicating a median effect according to Cohen’s criteria. Second, the effect size of moderator variables was found to be most effective when the SEL programs were conducted for children, for 20-40 minutes, at 16 or more sessions, and three or more times per week. Third, as for the dependent variables, the effect size of social-emotional learning competency was the largest at 1.04, indicating a large effect size. This study suggests that it is necessary to improve the quality of programs in future program development and to prepare a management system that can select and compare various education of humanism programs.

      • IPTV를 활용한 원격진료 효과성 분석

        Objectives : The purpose is 1) to verify that IPTV telemedicine is effective to the soldiers at isolated and remote areas such as at the General Out Post(GOP) and Forward Edge of Battle Area(FEBA); 2) to analyze when the soldiers use telemedicine and what patterns of diseases, illnesses or injuries telemedicine is used to treat; 3) to suggest development measures in terms of law and regulations and to recommend the efficient defense health policies. Methods : This study used medical records of patients who utilized the IPTV telemedicine; and conducted a survey using questionnaire. In addition, this study includes the interview results with the doctors from both the remote hospital and the clinics at the GOP and FEBA. Frequency analysis was used to analyze the data of treatment records and survey results; χ² test was used to find the statistical significance for between case and control group. Results : First, 38 patients(95%) among 40 patients were satisfied with the IPTV telemedicine according to the survey results. There were 77 IPTV telemedicine cases in total for one year. Among them 55 cases(71.4%) did not need further treatment. Second, there were 25 cases(12.6%) at the GOP clinic and 52 cases(5.4%) at the FEBA clinic in terms of IPTV telemedicine. ENT was most frequently used, followed by Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dental, Dermatology, General Medicine and Opthalmology patients. The reason IPTV telemedicine was used was to consult specialized doctors(70 pts, 90.9%). Conclusions : It is recommended that 1)the dedicated telemedicine department and hospital should be established for the soldiers at the remote and isolated areas; 2) the MND continue to implement telemedicine for GOP, FEBA and other remote ares using current Defense Network and/or Civilian IPTV Network; 3) the MND apply to stress management 4) the MND amend the law in terms of telemedicine for soldiers.
