• Plane harmonic waves in fractional orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic solid with rotation and two-temperature

        Himanshi,Parveen Lata Techno-Press 2023 Coupled systems mechanics Vol.12 No.2

The present research is focused on the study of plane harmonic waves in a two-dimensional orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic media with fractional order theory of generalized thermoelasticity in the light of two-temperature and rotation due to time harmonic sources. Here, we studied three types of waves namely quasi-longitudinal (QL), quasi-transverse (QTS) and quasi thermal (QT) waves. The variations in the wave properties such as phase velocity, attenuation coefficient and specific loss have been noticed with respect to frequency for the reflected waves. Further the value of amplitude ratios, energy ratios and penetration depth are computed numerically with respect to angle of incidence. The numerical simulated results are presented graphically to show the effect of fractional parameter based on its conductivity (0<α<1 for weak, α=1 for normal, 1<α≤2 for strong conductivity) on all the components.

Redox Modulatory Anti-Inflammatory Potential of Hempseed (Cannabis sativa) based Green Selenium Nanoparticles

        Himanshi Mehta,Megha Gupta,Parminder Kaur,Jaspreet Kaur,Naveen Kaushal 한국진공학회(ASCT) 2021 Applied Science and Convergence Technology Vol.30 No.3

Biomolecules mediated synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) has revolutionized the nanotechnology research field due to its eco-friendly and non-toxic nature. The green approaches of NPs synthesis using plant extracts offer an effective and better alternative than other synthesis methods. Metal-based NPs have emerged at the forefront of biomedicine due to their versatility in health and therapeutics. In this context, Selenium (Se), a versatile trace element is known for its critical role in various pathophysiological processes through regulation of cellular redox status and inflammatory pathways besides others. However, these beneficial effects of Se are limited by its narrow physiologically relevant concentration range. Deficiency or excess of Se is associated with numerous pathologies and toxicities. Thus, in current study we have synthesized and characterized Hempseed (Cannabis sativa) based novel biogenic Se nanoparticles (SeNPs) using UV visible spectroscopy, DLS, EDX, FE-SEM, and FT-IR. Further, the phytochemical profiles and antioxidant as well as anti-inflammatory potential of these SeNPs were evaluated to ascertain their physiological benefits. Results indicated the spherical shaped SeNPs of average size 140–150 nm with favourable zeta potential of −45.0 mV. The phytochemical and Se analysis validated the redox modulatory anti-inflammatory potential of these hempseed based green SeNPs.

      • Time harmonic interactions due to inclined load in an orthotropic thermoelastic rotating media with fractional order heat transfer and two-temperature

        Lata, Parveen,Himanshi, Himanshi Techno-Press 2022 Coupled systems mechanics Vol.11 No.4

The objective of this paper is to study the effect of frequency in a two-dimensional orthotropic thermoelastic rotating solid with fractional order heat transfer in generalized thermoelasticity with two-temperature due to inclined load. As an application the bounding surface is subjected to uniformly and linearly distributed loads (mechanical and thermal source). The problem is solved with the help of Fourier transform. Assuming the disturbances to be harmonically time dependent, the expressions for displacement components, stress components, conductive temperature and temperature change are derived in frequency domain. Numerical inversion technique has been used to determine the results in physical domain. The results are depicted graphically to show the effect of frequency on various components. Some particular cases are also discussed in the present research.

Founder BRCA1 mutations in Nepalese population

        Anurag Mehta,Himanshi Diwan,Garima Gupta,Shrinidhi Nathany,Shalini Agnihotri,Surender Dhanda 대한병리학회 2022 Journal of Pathology and Translational Medicine Vol.56 No.4

Background: Founder mutation is a heritable genetic alteration observed with high frequency in a geographically and culturally isolated population where one or more ancestors becomes the forebearer of the altered gene. The current study reports two founder mutations in the BRCA1 gene in the Nepalese people. Methods: Germline BRCA testing in all surface epithelial ovarian cancers and the selected case of breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers has been the standard practice from 2016 to 2021. One thousand one hundred thirtythree probands were screened for germline BRCA variants by next generation sequencing. The variants were classified as per the American Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics recommendations. Pathogenic (class V) and likely pathogenic (class IV) were considered clinically relevant and utilized for cascade screening. Results: Nepalese population made up a subcohort of 5.12% (58/1,133) of probands tested for germline BRCA1/2 variants. Twenty-seven of these 58 tested harbored pathogenic genetic alterations in BRCA1/2 genes, with 23 being BRCA1 mutant. Sixteen of 23 BRCA1 mutant cases shared one common pathogenic mutation c.2214_2215insT (p.Lys739Ter) (NM_007294.4). Additionally, a second highly recurrent mutation in BRCA1 gene c.5068A>T (p.Lys1690Ter) (NM_007294.4) was noted in six patients from this population. Conclusions: The overwhelming abundance of the above two variants in a geographically confined population confers these two genetic alterations a status of founder mutations amongst the people of Nepal. A more extensive population-based study to reaffirm these findings will help establish a dual site-specific germline testing similar to the “Multisite-3-assay” in Ashkenazi Jews as the primary screening tool, especially in a resource-constrained environment.
