Gunduz, Seyda,Mutlu, Hasan,Goksu, Sema Sezgin,Arslan, Deniz,Tatli, Ali Murat,Uysal, Mukremin,Coskun, Hasan Senol,Bozcuk, Hakan,Ozdogan, Mustafa,Savas, Burhan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.20
Background: Malignant mesothelioma (MM) is almost always fatal and few treatment options are available. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of oral cyclophosphamide and etoposide for patients who underwent standard treatment for advanced MM. Materials and Methods: This study included 22 malignant pleural mesothelioma patients who were treated with oral cyclophosphamide and etoposide (EE). Results: The average follow-up period of the patients was 39.1 months. Under the treatment of oral EE, median progression-free survival was 7.7 months [95%CI HR (4.3-11.1)] and median overall survival was 28.1 months [95%CI HR (5.8-50.3)]. The treatment response rates were as follows: 4 patients (27.3%) had a partial response (PR), 12 (54.5%) had stable disease (SD), and progressive disease (PD) was observed in 6 (35.9%). Conclusions: Oral EE can be administered effectively to patients with inoperable malignant mesothelioma who had previously received standard treatments.

Objective : Trigeminal neuralgia is one of the most common causes of facial pain. Our aim is to investigate the efficacy and borders of percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. Methods : Between May 2007 and April 2017, 156 patients with trigeminal neuralgia were treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation. These 156 patients underwent 209 procedures. In our study, we investigated the early and late results of percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation under guiding fluoroscopic imaging in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) pain scale was used for grading the early results. In addition, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to assess long-term outcomes. Of the 156 patients who underwent radiofrequency thermocoagulation for trigeminal neuralgia, 45 had additional disease. Patients with this condition were evaluated with their comorbidities. Early and late results were compared with those without comorbidity. Results : In 193 of 209 interventions BNI pain scale I to III results were obtained. Out of the 193 successful operation 136 patients (65.07%) were discharged as BNI I, 14 (6.70%) as BNI II, 43 (20.58%) as BNI III. Sixteen patients (7.65%) remained uncontrolled (BNI IV and V). While the treatment results of trigeminal neuralgia patients with comorbidity seem more successful in the early period, this difference was not observed in follow-up examinations. Conclusion : Finally, we concluded that percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the Gasserian ganglion is a safe and effective method in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. However, over time, the effectiveness of the treatment decreases. Neverthless, the reapprability of this intervention gives it a distinct advantage.
CONVERGENCE OF A NEW MULTISTEP ITERATION IN CONVEX CONE METRIC SPACES
Gunduz, Birol Korean Mathematical Society 2017 대한수학회논문집 Vol.32 No.1
In this paper, we propose a new multistep iteration for a finite family of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings in convex cone metric spaces. Then we show that our iteration converges to a common fixed point of this class of mappings under suitable conditions. Our result generalizes the corresponding result of Lee [5] from the closed convex subset of a convex cone metric space to whole space.

Background: The prognostic significance of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio for progression free survival in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma is unclear. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 45 patients diagnosed with metastatic RCC previously treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors from two centers, Akdeniz University Hospital and Afyon Kocatepe University. The prognostic value of the pretreatment neutrophil-tolymphocyte ratio, and other clinical and laboratory parameters were assessed by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results: Median progression free survival (PFS) was 13.9 months [95% CI for HR (6.88-20.91)] and overall survival figure of 16.6 months [95% CI for HR (7.23-26.03)] Univariate analysis revealed that PFS was significantly affected by hemoglobin level [p=0.013 (95% CI for HR (0.71-0.96))], eosinophil count [p=0.031 (95% CI for HR (0.20-0.92))], ratio of neutrophil lymphocytes (NLR) [p=0.007 (95% CI for HR (1.47-11.74))] and calcium level [p=0.006 (95% CI for HR (0.15-0.73))]. However, only NLR [p=0.031 (95% CI for HR (1.15-18.1))] and calcium levels [p=0.018 (95% CI for HR (0.20-18.1))] retained significance with multivariate analysis. Median PFS was 23.9 vs 8.6 months in patients with NLR ${\leq}2$ vs NLR >2 (Log rank; p= 0.040). Conclusions: This study showed that increased pretreatment NLR is an independent prognostic factor for patients with metastatic RCC using tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
Inverse and direct systems in intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces
C. Gunduz 장전수학회 2008 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.11 No.2
The purpose of this paper is to construct inverse and direct systems in intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces. After giving the fundamental de¯nitions we introduce inverse and direct limits in the category of intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces and investigate series of their properties.

Median arcuate ligament syndrome is an anatomic and clinical entity characterized by dynamic compression of the proximal celiac artery by the median arcuate ligament, which leads to postprandial epigastric pain, vomiting, and weight loss. These symptoms are usually nonspecific and are easily misdiagnosed as functional dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, or gastropathy. In this report, we presented a 72-year-old male patient with celiac artery compression syndrome causing recurrent abdominal pain associated with gastric ulcer and iron deficiency anemia. This association is relatively uncommon and therefore not well determined. In addition, we reported the CT angiography findings and three-dimensional reconstructions of this rare case.

Soft topological spaces based on soft set theory which is a new mathematical tool for dealing with uncertainties. In this paper, the notions of $% \widetilde{I}_{\noindent \widetilde{c}}$ soft free ideal and soft $\widetilde{% c}-$ ideals are introduced. Also, soft ideal extension of a given soft topological space is investigated via the concept of soft ideals.
Two Cases of Multivessel Coronary Artery Ectasias Resulting in Acute Inferior Myocardial Infarction
Huseyin Gunduz,Saadet Demirtas,Mehmet Bulent Vatan,Mehmet Akif Cakar,Ramazan Akdemir 대한심장학회 2012 Korean Circulation Journal Vol.42 No.6
The incidence of multivessel coronary artery ectasias (CAEs) among patients undergoing coronary artery angiography is very rare. All three coronary vessels can be affected by CAE, but most patients have an isolated arterial ectasia, commonly the right coronary artery. In this report we present two cases with inferior myocardial infarction that was likely caused by thrombotic occlusion of CAEs.
Compactness in soft $S$-metric spaces
Cigdem Gunduz Aras,Sadi Bayramov,Vefa Cafarli 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2020 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.20 No.1
The first aim of this paper is to contribute for investigating on soft $S-$ metric space which is based on soft points of soft sets and to prove some important theorems on sequential compact and totally bounded in soft $S-$ metric space. Moreover, we introduce soft uniformly continuous mapping and examine some of its properties.
