<P>This paper proposes a novel video transmission scheme that provides error-resilient transmission of encoded video on a per-packet basis over wireless networks. In conventional schemes, the error-resilient transmission of encoded video has been conducted using the unit of a video frame or data partition. However, in order to provide higher error-resilient transmission for significant video data that critically impacts the decoding when it is lost, the unit of prioritized video transmission should be more fine-grained. Moreover, the transmission overhead incurred by the application of the prioritized video transmission should be further minimized. In order to overcome these limitations, this paper proposes a scheme that identifies and reallocates significant video data within the unit of inter-frame dependency, which is a hierarchical relationship between video frames, in order to enhance the compression efficiency such as a group of pictures. Consequently, the encoded video is transmitted with different transmission priorities on a per-packet basis depending on the packet's significance for decoding. The evaluation results with standard definition and high definition videos demonstrate that the proposed scheme has significant performance enhancements over the conventional video frame prioritization scheme in terms of transmission overhead, transmitted video data utilization, peak signal-to-noise ratio, and subject quality test.</P>
Quniolone 화합물의 물, 옥탄올계에서의 전이에 대한 열역학적 함수의 고찰

Norfloxacin, ofloxacin, enoxacin, ciprofloxacin, KR 10755의 5가지 quinolone 화합물을 대상으로 온도를 달리하면서 물에서 n-octanol로의 분배계수를 측정한 결과 아래와 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. Norfloxacin, ofloxacin, enoxacin, ciprofloxacin 등의 화합물은 온도상승에 따라 점차 분배계수 K_D값이 증가하였으나 KR 10755는 온도상승에 따라 K_D값이 일정하게 변화하지 않았다. 2. 이 실험에 사용한 모든 quinolone 화합물들은 1.0 이하의 K_D값을 나타냈고, KR 10755< ofloxacin < enoxacin < norfloxacin < ciprofloxacin 순서로 증가하였다. 3. 산출된 열역학적 함수, ??D, ??H, ??S의 결과를 종합해 보면, 1) 양의 ??G의 값은 본 실험에서 사용한 모든 quinolone 화합물들이 물에서 n-octanol로의 이행이 용이하지 않다는 것을 의미한다. 2) 모든 quinolone 화합물들이 양의 ??S 값을 나타내는 것으로 보아 화합물들이 n-octanol에서 더욱 무질서해지는 것 같다. 3) 모든 quinolone 화합물들의 두 용매 사이에서의 평형분배반응은 흡열반응이다. The partition coefficients of quinolones-norfloxacin, ofloxacin, enoxacin, ciprofloxacin, KR 10755 from water to n-octanol have been measured as a function of temperature. These data are used to evaluate the thermodynamic parameters ??G, ??H, ??S for the solute transfer process. The partition coefficients increased in order of ciprofloxacin < norfloxacin < enoxacin < ofloxacin < KR 10755. All transfer processes from water to n-octanol of quinolones using in this study are not favoured and the positive entropy changes of all quinolones suggest that all compounds become disorder in n-octanol. All transfer processes were endothermic.

This paper presents the outcomes of a study in which continuous steel fibers, recovered from scrap tires of vehicles, were used to prepare alkali-activated slag-based slurry infiltrated fibrous concrete (SIFCON). In this experimental study, the steel fibers used were 250 mm long, with varying fiber contents of 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%. The alkali-activated SIFCONs were produced by activating ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) with a mixture of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) solutions. Mixtures with ordinary Portland cement (OPC) were also cast for comparison purposes. The feasibility of utilizing finely ground waste glass as a silicate source for chemical activator solution in alkali-activated SIFCONs was also investigated. In this context, two different molar concentrations of NaOH, namely 8 M and 14 M, were employed during production. As activators, one series of mixtures utilized sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate solutions, while the other series replaced sodium silicate with finely ground waste glass. As a result, three different waste materials were utilized in concrete. 30 different mixtures were cast and examined in the experimental study. Load–deflection curves were obtained in three-point bending test and mechanical properties of the mixtures such as compressive, splitting and flexural strengths, fracture energy, and toughness were determined. The flexural strength and toughness increased with the use of waste steel fibers. The continuous waste fibers derived from discarded tires yielded results comparable to commercially available fibers, demonstrating their effectiveness in enhancing mechanical properties. Depending on mix design, the alkali-activated SIFCON attained flexural strength exceeding 75 MPa and compressive strength surpassing 100 MPa. These results suggest that concretes incorporating a variety of waste materials can be effectively combined. This innovative approach bridges an existing gap in the literature by combining alkali activation, waste glass, and waste steel fibers, ultimately yielding a sustainable composite that outperforms normal concretes in terms of mechanical properties while promoting environmental sustainability. Test results demonstrate that it is possible to obtain concrete with comparable mechanical properties while primarily composed of by-products and waste materials. This approach marks a substantial step in achieving high-performance concrete that relies solely on waste or by-products.


Effect of Replacing Beef Fat with Poppy Seed Oil on Quality of Turkish Sucuk

Sucuk is the most popular dry-fermented meat product. Sucuk has a relatively high fat. Poppy seed oil as animal fat replacer was used in Turkish sucuk and effects of its use on sucuk quality were investigated. There was a significant (p<0.5) treatment × ripening time interaction for moisture, pH (p<0.05) and 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) values (p<0.01). Increasing poppy seed oil level decreased (p<0.05) TBARS values. Addition of poppy seed oil to the sucuks had a significant effect (p<0.01) on hardness, cohesiveness, gumminess, chewiness and springiness values. Cholesterol content of sucuks decreased (p<0.05) with poppy seed oil addition. Using pre-emulsified poppy seed oil as partial fat replacer in Turkish sucuk decreased cholesterol and saturated fatty acid content, but increased polyunsaturated fatty acids. Poppy seed oil as partial animal fat replacer in Turkish sucuk may have significant health benefits.

On Pseudo Null Bertrand Curves in Minkowski Space-time

In this paper, we prove that there are no pseudo null Bertrand curve with curvature functions $k_1(s)=1$, $k_2(s){\neq}0$ and $k_3(s)$ other than itself in Minkowski spacetime ${\mathbb{E}}_1^4$ and by using the similar idea of Matsuda and Yorozu [13], we define a new kind of Bertrand curve and called it pseudo null (1,3)-Bertrand curve. Also we give some characterizations and an example of pseudo null (1,3)-Bertrand curves in Minkowski spacetime.
ESTIMATES FOR SECOND NON-TANGENTIAL DERIVATIVES AT THE BOUNDARY

In this paper, a boundary version of Schwarz lemma is investigated. We take into consideration a function f(z) holomorphic in the unit disc and f(0) = 0, f'(0) = 1 such that ${\Re}f^{\prime}(z)$ > ${\frac{1-{\alpha}}{2}}$, -1 < ${\alpha}$ < 1, we estimate a modulus of the second non-tangential derivative of f(z) function at the boundary point $z_0$ with ${\Re}f^{\prime}(z_0)={\frac{1-{\alpha}}{2}}$, by taking into account their first nonzero two Maclaurin coefficients. Also, we shall give an estimate below ${\mid}f^{{\prime}{\prime}}(z_0){\mid}$ according to the first nonzero Taylor coefficient of about two zeros, namely z = 0 and $z_1{\neq}0$. The sharpness of these inequalities is also proved.

This article explored the contribution of Asia Pacific Education Review (APER) to expanding the scope of research on comparative and international education in Asia. We developed a rubric based on extensive studies (Rust et al. in Comp Educ Rev, 43(1):86–109, 1999; Foster et al. in Int J Educ Dev 32:711–732, 2012) of research in the field to compare three highly ranked journals in the field of comparative and international education (Comparative Education, Comparative Education Review, and International Journal of Educational Development) with the fledgling APER on the content of the articles they published between 2006 and 2010. Results were also compared with sources included in the 2011, 2012, and 2013 bibliographies prepared for the Comparative Education Review. The study highlights publication patterns of these journals, focusing on methodology, education level, region, and topics. Findings suggest that these journals, while sharing some things in common, also show distinct patterns, suggesting questions about the extent to which distinctively Asian topics and approaches are fully represented.
업사이클링(Up-cycling)브랜드 사례 조사를 통한 디자인 활성화 전략에 대한 연구

The aspect of household and industrial waste due to mass production, the misuse of consumer goods in the 20th century and indiscriminant consumption patterns has resulted in the severe pollution of the Earth and wasted resources. Waste disposal in the past depended on landfills and incinerators which gradually worsened the surrounding environment and even led to secondary pollution which further and more severly destroyed resources and the environment. As a result greater importance is placed on eco-design, green design and sustainable design that focus on the basic concept of ‘reuse’ and ‘recycle.’ Transcending recent recycling in which discarded material is simply recycled, the synergy of creative ideas and technology applied to waste that can offer new value is being applied while at the same time beautifying everyday articles in upcycling products, which is becoming an important subject of research for industry today. This study emphasizes the definition of upcycling design and the importance of upcycling design development, and seeks a proposal to do so, and seeks an activation plan for future development through a comparative analysis of major design brands in Korea and overseas. This study presents: (1) measures to reduce industrial waste from the first phase of the development of a product to be researched, (2) the necessity for a change in understanding about upcycling design brands and (3) the necessity for the active development of competitive upcycling design in which the designer plays a leading role.
