      • Acquisition, Processing and Image Generation System for Camera Data Onboard Spacecraft

C.V.R Subbaraya Sastry,G.S Narayan Rao,N Ramakrishna,V.K Hariharan International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2023 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.23 No.3

The primary goal of any communication spacecraft is to provide communication in variety of frequency bands based on mission requirements within the Indian mainland. Some of the spacecrafts operating in S-band utilizes a 6m or larger aperture Unfurlable Antenna (UFA for S-band links and provides coverage through five or more S-band spot beams over Indian mainland area. The Unfurlable antenna is larger than the satellite and so the antenna is stowed during launch. Upon reaching the orbit, the antenna is deployed using motors. The deployment status of any deployment mechanism will be monitored and verified by the telemetered values of micro-switch position before the start of deployment, during the deployment and after the completion of the total mechanism. In addition to these micro switches, a camera onboard will be used for capturing still images during primary and secondary deployments of UFA. The proposed checkout system is realized for validating the performance of the onboard camera as part of Integrated Spacecraft Testing (IST) conducted during payload checkout operations. It is designed for acquiring the payload data of onboard camera in real-time, followed by archiving, processing and generation of images in near real-time. This paper presents the architecture, design and implementation features of the acquisition, processing and Image generation system for Camera onboard spacecraft. Subsequently this system can be deployed in missions wherever similar requirement is envisaged.

Molecular Characterization and Expression of LDHA and LDHB mRNA in Testes of Japanese Quail (Coturnix japonica)

        Singh, R.P.,Sastry, K.V.H.,Pandey, N.K.,Shit, N.G.,Agarwal, R.,Singh, R.,Sharma, S.K.,Saxena, V.K.,Jagmohan, Jagmohan Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2011 Animal Bioscience Vol.24 No.8

The LDH isozymes are key catalysts in the glycolytic pathway of energy metabolism. It is well known that the distribution of the LDH isozymes vary in accordance with the metabolic requirements of different tissues. The substrates required for energy production change noticeably at successive stages of testes development suggesting a significant flexibility in the expression of glycolytic enzymes. Therefore, expression of LHDA and LDHB mRNAs was examined in adult and prepubertal quail testis. The mRNA of both LDHA and LDHB were expressed and no significant difference was observed in prepubertal testes. The mRNA levels of LDHB significantly increased during testicular development. In the adult testis, LDHA mRNA was not expressed. Expression studies revealed the presence of different LDH isozymes during testicular development. In contrast, electrophoresis of both testicular samples revealed only single band at a position indicative of an extreme type of LDH isozyme in quail testes. Furthermore, nucleotide and amino acid sequence analysis revealed significant similarity to chicken, duck and rock pigeon. These sequence results confirmed the similarity of LDHA and LDHB subunit protein in different avian species.

Ratcheting Fatigue Behavior of Modified 9Cr–1Mo Steel at Room Temperature

        Prerna Mishra,R. S. Rajpurohit,N. C. Santhi Srinivas,G. V. S. Sastry,Vakil Singh 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.12

Fusion reactor components undergo asymmetric cyclic loading, that leads to a progressive increase in plastic strain andcauses deterioration in life of engineering components. This investigation deals with fatigue behavior of modified 9Cr–1Mosteel at room temperature and presents the effect of mean stress (σm), stress amplitude (σa) and stress rate ( ̇ ) on fatigue life, deformation and fracture behavior under asymmetric cyclic loading. A series of fatigue tests were conducted under asymmetricstress-controlled loading with different combinations of σm (190–210 MPa), σa (400–420 MPa) and ̇ (50–450 MPa/s). The plastic strain increased with increase in σm and σa and the fatigue life was reduced, whereas increase in ̇ reduced theaccumulated plastic strain and the cyclic life was increased. The deformation behavior and microstructural changes under theinfluence of the three parameters (σm, σa and ̇ ) were examined by tranmission electron microscope (TEM). With increasein the three parameters (σm, σa, ̇ ), the lath martensitic structure changed to subgrain structure along with dislocation cellsand forest dislocations. Scanning electron microscopy revealed unique features of fractured specimens, with progressivereduction in diameter towards the fracture-end, fatigue striations on the tapered circumferential surface and dimples on thefracture surface.
