The full-bridge inverter, widely used for single-phase photovoltaic grid-connected applications, presents a leakage current issue. Therefore, an AC bypass branch is introduced to overcome this challenge. Nevertheless, existing modulation strategies entail drawbacks that should be addressed. One is the zero-crossing distortion (ZCD) of the AC current caused by neglecting the AC filter inductor voltage. Another is that the system cannot deliver reactive power because the AC bypass branch switches at the power frequency. To address these problems, this work proposes an optimized hybrid modulation strategy. To reduce ZCD, the phase angle of the inverter output voltage reference is shifted, thereby compensating for the neglected leading angle. To generate the reactive power, the interval of the negative power output is calculated using the power factor. In addition, the freewheeling switch is kept on when power is flowing into the grid and commutates at a high frequency when power is fed back to the DC side. In this manner, the dead-time insertion in the high-frequency switching area is minimized. Finally, the performances of the proposed modulation strategy and traditional strategies are compared on a universal prototype inverter. Experimental results validate the theoretical analysis.
Different segregation effects for Sc and Ce in an Al/δ´ interface
Yao Jian-Gang,Jiang Yong,Yin Deng-Feng 한국물리학회 2021 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.78 No.8
The behaviors of Sc and Ce segregation at Al (100)/δ´(100), Al (110)/δ´(110), and Al (111)/δ´(111) interfaces were theoretically predicted to explore the differences in the segregation effects in Al–Li alloys. The results show that Sc exhibits an evident trend to segregation to the Al/δ´ interface whereas this effect for Ce seems to be weak. The variation of the segregation energy is associated with the different orientation of the corresponding interface. The preferable segregated site is on the Al matrix side where the solutes tend to substitute the Al atom at the Li site for the first layer of the corresponding interface.

Background: At present, the diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) requires a colorectal biopsy which is an invasive procedure. We undertook this pilot study to develop an alternative method and potential new biomarkers for diagnosis, and validated a set of well-integrated tools called ClinProt to investigate the serum peptidome in CRC patients. Methods: Fasting blood samples from 67 patients diagnosed with CRC by histological diagnosis, 55 patients diagnosed with colorectal adenoma by biopsy, and 65 healthy volunteers were collected. Division was into a model construction group and an external validation group randomly. The present work focused on serum proteomic analysis of model construction group by ClinProt Kit combined with mass spectrometry. This approach allowed construction of a peptide pattern able to differentiate the studied populations. An external validation group was used to verify the diagnostic capability of the peptidome pattern blindly. An immunoassay method was used to determine serum CEA of CRC and controls. Results: The results showed 59 differential peptide peaks in CRC, colorectal adenoma and health volunteers. A genetic algorithm was used to set up the classification models. Four of the identified peaks at m/z 797, 810, 4078 and 5343 were used to construct peptidome patterns, achieving an accuracy of 100% (> CEA, P<0.05). Furthermore, the peptidome patterns could differentiate the validation group with high accuracy close to 100%. Conclusions: Our results showed that proteomic analysis of serum with MALDI-TOF MS is a fast and reproducible approach, which may provide a novel approach to screening for CRC.

BACKGROUND: All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) promotes the osteogenic differentiation induced by bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9), but the intrinsic relationship between BMP9 and ATRA keeps unknown. Herein, we investigated the effect of Cyp26b1, a critical enzyme of ATRA degradation, on the BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), and unveiled possible mechanism through which BMP9 regulates the expression of Cyp26b1. METHODS: ATRA content was detected with ELISA and HPLC–MS/MS. PCR, Western blot, and histochemical staining were used to assay the osteogenic markers. Fetal limbs culture, cranial defect repair model, and micro–computed tomographic were used to evaluate the quality of bone formation. IP and ChIP assay were used to explore possible mechanism. RESULTS: We found that the protein level of Cyp26b1 was increased with age, whereas the ATRA content decreased. The osteogenic markers induced by BMP9 were increased by inhibiting or silencing Cyp26b1 but reduced by exogenous Cyp26b1. The BMP9-induced bone formation was enhanced by inhibiting Cyp26b1. The cranial defect repair was promoted by BMP9, which was strengthened by silencing Cyp26b1 and reduced by exogenous Cyp26b1. Mechanically, Cyp26b1 was reduced by BMP9, which was enhanced by activating Wnt/b-catenin, and reduced by inhibiting this pathway. b-catenin interacts with Smad1/5/9, and both were recruited at the promoter of Cyp26b1. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggested the BMP9-induced osteoblastic differentiation was mediated by activating retinoic acid signalling, viadown-regulating Cyp26b1. Meanwhile, Cyp26b1 may be a novel potential therapeutic target for the treatment of bone-related diseases or accelerating bone-tissue engineering.
Platycladus orientalis PoKub3 is Involved in Abiotic Stress Responses in Transgenic Arabidopsis

Ku70-binding proteins associate with Ku70 and their expression levels can affect DSB repair efficiency via the DNA-PK-dependent repair pathway. However, how Ku70-binding proteins in plants exert a regulatory function under abiotic stress is poorly understood. Here, we cloned and characterized a PoKub3 gene from 500-year-old Platycladus orientalis. With increasing age, PoKub3 expression in P. orientalis increased gradually. The PoKub3 expression levels in leaves were upregulated under salt, heat, UV-C and abscisic acid treatments according to qRT-PCR. Moreover, PoKub3 overexpression in Arabidopsis thaliana improved tolerance to salt and drought stress compared with wild-type (WT) and vector control (VC) plants. High RAB18 and DREB2A expression and low JAZ1 and ABI2 expression provided strong evidence that salt tolerance was enhanced in the overexpression plants. Similarly, high RAB18 and DREB2A expression, accompanied by low JAZ1 and LOX1 expression and high DREB1A, CPK10, GSTF6 and APX1 expression, suggested the drought tolerance mechanism was associated with the abscisic acid pathway. In addition, lower malondialdehyde content, electrolyte leakage and stomatal conductance, and higher soluble sugar and relative water contents in PoKub3 overexpression lines than in WT and VC plants demonstrated its role in salt and drought tolerance. Together, these findings show that PoKub3 positively regulates salt and drought tolerance by regulating stress-related genes.
On Dual Compensation to Disturbances and Uncertainties for Inertially Stabilized Platforms

This paper focuses on disturbances and uncertainties rejection control for the nonminimum-phase inertially stabilized platforms on moving bases, which suffers from serious disturbances and uncertainties. To stabilize the nonminimum-phase system, the standard disturbance-observer-based control method has to sacrifice the stability margins and disturbance rejection. The dual compensation disturbance-observer-based control method is proposed in this paper to ensure a stronger disturbance rejection performance. The two compensators of the proposed method have independent capabilities to reject the disturbances parallelly. The synergic compensators deal with much more disturbances than each of them separately due to their superimposed disturbance rejection. The proposed method doesn’t change the stability margins and tracking capabilities and open-loop characteristics. The analytical tuning laws for the proposed method are presented. The proposed method is verified in typical setups based on the gimbal and inertially stabilized laser control systems. Simulated and experimental results demonstrate that compared with the standard disturbance-observer-based control method, the proposed method can negate much more disturbances without changing the stability margins. The simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness and superiority of our method.

To investigate the cognition of medical professionals when following screening guidelines for colorectal cancer (CRC) and barriers to CRC screening. Between February 2012 and December 2012, an anonymous survey with 19-questions based on several CRC screening guidelines was randomly administered to gastroenterologists, oncologists, general surgeons, and general practitioners in Jiangsu, a developed area in China where the incidence of CRC is relatively high. The average cognitive score was 26.4% among 924 respondents. Gastroenterologists and oncologists had higher scores compared with others (p<0.01 and p<0.01, respectively); doctor of medicine (M.D.) with or without doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) or holders with bachelor of medical science (BMS) achieved higher scores than other lower degree holders (P<0.05). More importantly, doctors who finished CRC related education in the past year achieved higher scores than the others (p<0.001). The most commonly listed barriers to referring high-risk patients for CRC screening were "anxiety about colonoscopy without anesthesia", "lack of awareness of the current guidelines" and "lack of insurance reimbursement". Lack of cognition was detected among doctors when following CRC screening guidelines for high-risk populations. Educational programs should be recommended to improve their cognition and reduce barriers to CRC screening.
