Influencer Marketing: Factors Influencing A Customer’s Purchase Intention

Ahnaf Chowdhury NILOY(Ahnaf Chowdhury NILOY ),Jawad Bin ALAM(Jawad Bin ALAM ),Md. Shah ALOM(Md. Shah ALOM ) 한국유통과학회 2023 Asian Journal of Business Environment (AJBE) Vol.13 No.1

Purpose: The study analyzes the impact of attitudes toward food influencers on consumer purchase intention. It also aims to identify factors affecting consumers’ attitudes toward food influencers. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the responses collected from 500 randomly selected consumers, the study analyzes the relationship based on the factors of influencer marketing. The authors test the conceptual model using multivariate linear regression analysis after validating the internal consistency of the data using Cronbach’s Alpha reliability test and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Results: The study finds that purchase intention is positively correlated and significantly impacted by the attitude towards influencer. The study further finds that attitude towards influencer is positively correlated and significantly impacted by source attractiveness, product match up, and source familiarity. However, source credibility is found to be an insignificant construct impacting attitude towards influencer. Conclusions: The study gives a guided solution to marketers and brand practitioners about the importance of influencer marketing in the food industry and its effectiveness in generating purchase intention. The present paper bridges a gap pertaining to antecedents and factors that impact attitudes toward food influencers and consumer purchase intention. To the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first of its kind to investigate the impact of attitudes toward influencers on purchase intention in the food industry.

Corporate Governance and Bank Performance during COVID-19: Evidence from Bangladesh

Md Masud CHOWDHURY(Md Masud CHOWDHURY ) 한국유통과학회 2023 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.10 No.2

The radical Coronavirus (COVID-19) has swiftly unfolded everywhere globally; it continues to unfold uncontrollably and critically, affecting all economies. The pandemic is not only a health issue but also has distinct effects on the global economy and enterprises. The impact of this novel Coronavirus is also well-documented in the financial sector. This study aims to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on corporate governance and banks’ financial performance. Moreover, this study also examines the impact of corporate governance on banks’ performance in Bangladesh. The study uses return on equity, return on assets, non-performing loans, return on investment, and earnings per share to measure the performance of the banks. And characteristics of corporate governance are measured by board size, number of independent directors on the board, number of female directors on the board, number of board meetings, and number of members in the audit committee. The study uses descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, t-test, and panel regression analysis. The study finds that COVID-19 significantly impacts the banks’ performance and some corporate governance characteristics. The study also reveals that corporate governance significantly impacts the financial performance of commercial banks. The findings of this study suggest that banks should concentrate more on corporate governance.

Aerodynamic loading of a typical low-rise building for an experimental stationary and non-Gaussian impinging jet

Chowdhury Jubayer,Djordje Romanic,Horia Hangan 한국풍공학회 2019 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.28 No.5

Non-synoptic winds have distinctive statistical properties compared to synoptic winds and can produce different wind loads on buildings and structures. The current study uses the new capabilities of the WindEEE Dome at Western University to replicate a stationary non-Gaussian wind event recorded at the Port of La Spezia in Italy. These stationary non-Gaussian wind events are also known as intermediate wind events as they differ from non-stationary non-Gaussian events (e.g., downbursts) as well as stationary Gaussian events (e.g., atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) flows). In the present study, the wind loads on a typical low-rise building are investigated for an intermediate wind event reproduced using a continuous radial impinging jet (IJ) at the WindEEE Dome. For the same building model, differences in wind loads between ABL and IJ are also examined. Wind loads on different surface zones on the building, as defined in the ASCE code for design loads, are also calculated and compared with the code.

Hypertension prevalence and its trend in Bangladesh: evidence from a systematic review and meta-analysis

        Chowdhury Mohammad Ziaul Islam,Rahman Meshbahur,Akter Tanjila,Akhter Tania,Ahmed Arifa,Shovon Minhajul Arifin,Farhana Zaki,Chowdhury Nashit,Turin Tanvir C. 대한고혈압학회 2020 Clinical Hypertension Vol.26 No.3

Background: Hypertension, itself being a major chronic condition, is one of the most significant risk factors for premature cardiovascular diseases and mortality. Hypertension is responsible for 13% of global deaths and threequarters of the world’s hypertensive population reside in low- and middle-income countries. Bangladesh is one of those countries that experiencing an epidemiological transition from communicable to non-communicable diseases, a nutritional transition from a traditional diet to process and fast food, and an increase in a sedentary lifestyle, resulting in increased hypertension prevalence. We carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to identify existing research on hypertension prevalence in Bangladesh, summarize findings and assess its temporal change. Methods: We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE and PubMed and relevant references to identify studies on the prevalence of hypertension in Bangladesh. We used Random-effects meta-analysis to pool the prevalence estimates and performed subgroup analyses. We assessed heterogeneity, a trend in prevalence of hypertension and publication bias in selected studies. Results: Our search initially identified 735 articles and after removing duplicates, reviewing titles and abstracts, and screening full texts, 53 studies were finally selected. The studies comprised 305,432 subjects and reported overall, gender-specific, geographical location specific and criteria specific prevalence of hypertension. We identified the range of hypertension prevalence is from 1.10% to 75.0% and the overall weighted pooled prevalence of hypertension is 20.0%. An extremely high heterogeneity (I2 = 99.53%; Cochran Q-statistic p < 0.001) was observed in the prevalence of hypertension. Consequently, we performed subgroup analysis based on gender, age group and geographical location of the study participants, the cut-off level used to define hypertension, and the types of hypertension reported and presented our findings accordingly. An overall increasing trend of hypertension prevalence is also observed. Conclusions: The prevalence of hypertension is high and rising in Bangladesh. Strategies targeting prevention are required to mitigate a further increase in the prevalence and reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with it.

End-to-End Soft QoS Approach for IMS-based Integrated Satellite/Terrestrial Network Architecture

Chowdhury, Mostafa Zaman,Jang, Yeong-Min Korea Society of Satellite Technology 2007 한국위성정보통신학회논문지 Vol.2 No.2

The satellite networks provide global coverage. The integration of terrestrial networks with a satellite network is the most attractive approach to develop a global communication system. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is intended to be the system that will merge the internet with the telecom world. A user with a dual-mode terminal can access both the satellite network and terrestrial network. The seamless handoff between two networks and a user's QoS level is the major issue concerning this integration. In this paper, we propose IMS-based satellite/terrestrial integrated network architecture for a global communication system. Based on the proposed architecture, an inter-network handoff and end-to-end soft QoS procedure is discussed. Our proposed soft QoS scheme is also analyzed to calculate the number of rejected calls.

Chowdhury, Sadia A.,Sohrab, Mohammad H.,Haque, Mohammad R.,Hasan, Choudhury M.,Rashid, Mohammad A. Kyung Hee Oriental Medicine Research Center 2008 Oriental pharmacy and experimental medicine Vol.8 No.1

A total of five compounds namely, 2-methylanthracene-9, 10-dione (1), 1-hydroxy-6-methylanthracene-9,10-dione (2), $\beta$-sitosterol (3), stigmasterol (4) and sitosterone (5) were isolated from the stem extracts of Polygonum lanatum for the first time. The structures of the isolated compounds (1-5) were established by extensive spectroscopic studies, including 2D NMR such as $^{1}H-^{1}H$ COSY, HSQC and HMBC studies. The crude extracts and purified compound (1) were screened for antimicrobial activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi by the disc diffusion method. The n-hexane and dichloromethane soluble partitionates of the methanolic extract revealed mild to moderate inhibition of growth of the test organisms. The cytotoxic potential of the extractives and compound 1 was also determined by using brine shrimp lethality bioassay, where the extractives demonstrated significant cytotoxic activities.

Chowdhury, S.M.Z.H.,Mian, M.F.,Debnath, N.C. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1993 Animal Bioscience Vol.6 No.3

Rectal fecal samples from zebu cattle (Bos indicus) at Savar, Dhaka, were collected in every two months of the year from March, 1987 to February, 1988 and were examined using Stoll's dilution technique. Out of a total of 737 fecal samples examined in six periods, 589 (79.9%) samples were found to be positive for one or more helminths. Overall prevalences for fasciola, paramphistome, schistosome, strongylids, ascaris, strongyloides, trichuris and capillaria infestations were respectively 19.5%, 48.0%, 5.9%, 52.2%, 1.5%, 2.5%, 5.5% and 12.7%. Prevalences of fasciola, paramphistome and schistosome infestations were significantly (p<0.01) higher from middle of August to December. Strogylids, trichuris and capillaria infestations were significantly (p<0.01) higher from July to October, although strongylids infestation also increased during January-February. Significantly (p<0.01) higher fasciola and paramphistome infestations were observed in animals after one year of age, whereas strongylids, ascaris, strongyloides and trichuris infestations were significantly (p<0.01) higher in cattle upto one year of age. Fasciola infestation was significantly (p<0.01) higher in female cattle and significantly (p<0.05) higher strongylids infestation was found in males.

Effect of Graded Levels of Mustard Oil Cake Supplementation on Intake, Nutrient Digestibility, Microbial N Yield of Adult Cannulated Native (Bos Indicus) Bulls Fed Rice Straw

Chowdhury, S.A. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1999 Animal Bioscience Vol.12 No.5

On a urea-molasses-straw (3:15:82, UMS) based diet, effect of graded levels of mustard oil cake (MOC) supplementation on the performances of native bulls has been studied. Four cannulated adult Bos indicus bulls of $415({\pm}44.6)kg$ live weight and 80 months old, were given daily either of 0, 200, 400 or 800 g of MOC in four periods in a $4{\times}4$ latin square design. Besides, each animal also received 200 g of each of molasses and wheat bran and a mineral mixture. For unit (1 g) increase in MOC intake, total DM intake increased by 0.8 g/d ($r^2=0.88$) but no change in the straw DM intake. With the increasing levels of MOC, crude protein (CP) digestibility increased exponentially with an asymptotic value of 72%. However, MOC level had no effect on the digestibilities of DM, OM and ADF. Similarly, rumen degradability of rice straw was also not affected by the level of dietary MOC, and mean straw DM degradabilities were 15, 21. 28, 37, 47 and 51% at 8, 16, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours of incubation respectively. Microbial N yield per kg digestible organic matter apparently fermented in the rumen were 7.46, 8.77, 6.88 and 5.96 g respectively for 0, 200, 400 or 800 g of dietary MOC. For each gram increase in dietary MOC, N intake and N balance increased by 0.054 g/d ($r^2=0.998$) and $0.59mg\;N/kg\;W^{0.75}/d$ ($r^2=0.99$) respectively. Nitrogen balance was estimated to be attained at the N intakes of $246mg\;N/kg\;W^{0.75}/d$. Thus, on a UMS-based diet supplementation of MOC up to 800 g (10% of total intake) of the dietary intake had little or no effect on intake, digestibility, rumen parameters, and microbial N yield but slightly increased the N balance. However marginal response to MOC supplementation is probably due to the high degradability of MOC protein in the rumen. Thus, any substantial positive response of MOC supplementation on a UMS-based diet can probably be achieved by reducing its protein degradability in the rumen.
