Malignant fibrous histiocytoma rarely occurs in the jaws. Although the histogenesis of this tumor remains controversal, it is best regarded as a primitive and pleomorphic nature reflected by collagen production and occasional phagocytosis. It is common for metastatic foci to appear in lung and regional lymph node. There are variable treatments such as radiotherapy, surgical excision or combination, therapy of surgical excision, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. With the review of literatures, the authors report the clinical study of two cases of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the jaw.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the kinematic factors about event of the Yeo2 motion on the Horse Vault. The subject in this study was 1 male gymnast to performance Yeo2 motion. Two video cameras were used to attain kinematic variables by phase. As a result, the following conclusion was drawn; 1. As the take-off time on the board was short, it appeared to increase horizontal and vertical velocity. In the motion, the flight apex height increased largely, too. 2. As the contact time on the board was short, it appeared to performance the air motion smoothly by increasing the horizontal distance and apex height. 3. The horizontal and vertical velocity in take-off on the board appeared increase horizontal distance and apex height. 4. To increase the apex height and horizontal distance, the body appeared to must be take the posture of vertical axis in take-off on the board.
두릅나무와 꾸지뽕나무의 추출용매에 따른 기능성 성분 및 항산화능 연구

본 연구는 두릅나무와 꾸지뽕나무의 기능성 성분들과 항산화능을 조사하기 위하여 수행되었다. 두릅나무의 새순과 뿌리껍질(총근피) 및 꾸지뽕나무의 열매, 잎 그리고 뿌리의 물과 에탄올 추출물의 기능성 성분들과 항산화능을 비교하였다. 꾸지뽕 잎의 에탄올 추출물이 100g 건중량 당 8,708.9±261.8mg의 총 폴리페놀 성분을 함유하고 있어서 실험대상 시료 중 가장 많은 양을 함유하였다. 꾸지뽕 뿌리의 물과 에탄올 추출물의 총 플라보노이드 함량은 3,098±56.7mg 및 2,957.7±36.1mg으로 측정되었다. 두릅새순과 꾸지뽕 잎의 에탄올 추출물에서 높은 DPPH 라디칼 소거능을 보였다. ABTS 라디칼 소거능은 꾸지뽕 뿌리의 물과 에탄올 추출물에서 각각 86.4±0.9%와 92.6±0.2%의 소거능을 나타내어 라디칼 소거능이 우수함을 보였다. This study is was performed to investigate the functional compounds and antioxidant activities of Aralia elata and Cudrania tricuspida. We compared with water and ethano extracts from the buds and roots barks of A. elata or the fruits, leaves and roots of C. tricuspidata. The highest total ployphenolic components was found in ethanol extract from the leaves of C. tricuspidata as 8,708.9±261.8 mg/100g dry weight. Our results showed that the flavonod 56.7 and 2,957.7±36.1 mg/100g dry weight. Ethanol extract of A. elate buds and C. tricuspidata leaves showed higher DPPH racidcal scavenging activity than the others. ABTS radical scavenging activities in the water and ethanol extracts of C. tricuspidata roots were 86.4±0.9% and 92.6±0.2%.

본 연구에서는 다양한 생리활성을 가지는 아로니아 추출물의 총 폴리페놀 함량, 총 플라보노이드 함량 및 항산화 활성을 조사하였다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 열수 및 70% 에탄올 추출물에서 각각 3,909 mg/100g 및 7,000 mg/100g 으로 70% 에탄올 추출물에서 월등히 높은 함량을 나타냈다. 총 플라보노이드는 열수 및 70% 에탄올 추출물이 각각 432 mg/100g 및 766 mg/100g 함량을 나타내어 총 폴리페놀 함량과 비슷한 경향을 나타내었다. DPPH 라디칼 소거활성은 열수 및 70% 에탄올 추출물에서 농도 의존적으로 증가하여 250~1,000 μg/mL에서 각각 68.8~90.1%(열수 추출물)과 90.0~88.2%(70% 에탄올 추출물)의 소거활성을 보였다. 특히, 70% 에탄올 추출물은 250 μg/mL의 낮은 농도에서도 90%의 DPPH 라디칼 소거활성을 보여 에탄올 추출물이 좋은 항산화제로 이용될 수 있는 가능성을 보였다. ABTS 라디칼 소거활성은 열수 및 70% 에탄올 추출물 250~1,000 μg/mL 농도에서 각각 15.6~65.9% 및 40.9~93.1%의 소거활성을 나타내었고 이는 DPPH 라디칼 소거활성과 비슷한 경향을 나타내었다. 아로니아의 기능성성분 함량과 항산화 활성은 열수추출 보다는 70% 에탄올 추출물이 더 효과적이라 사료된다. Total polyphenol content, total flavonoid content and antioxidant activities were examined in hot water and 70% ethanol extract. The total polyphenol content of the 70% ethanol extract, 7,000 g/100g dry weight, was higher than of hot water extract (3,909 mg/100g). Similar patterns were observed for the total polyphenol and flavonoid contents. The total flavonoid content of the 70% ethanol extract, 766 g/100g dry weight, was higher than of hot eater extract (432 mg/100g). The DPPH radical scavenging activity of hot water and 70% ethanol extracts at 250~1,000 μ g/mL was 68.8~90.1% and 90.0~88.2%, respectively. Especially low concentration (250 μg/mL) of 70% ethanol extract showed some possibility that it could be a good antioxidant candidate. The ABTS radical scavenging activity of hot water and 70 ethanol extracts250~1,000 μg/mL was 15.6~65.9% and 40.9~93.1%, respectively. ABTS radical scavenging activity was similar pattern with DPPH radical scavenging activity. These results suggest that 70% ethanol extract from Aronia melanocarpa may be effective for the content of functional compound and antioxidant activities.

<P>We report a novel catalytic reaction to promote oxidation of carbonate and carboxylate species using nanoporous nickel oxide (NiO) in the lithium-oxygen (Li-O-2) battery. These nanoporous NiO catalysts in the shape of two-dimensional (2-D) hexagonal plates are incorporated on the carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode, which remarkably enhances oxidation efficiency of carbonate and carboxylate species as representative side products in Li-O-2 electrochemistry and greatly improves the cycleability to more than 70 cycles. The oxidation reaction predominantly occurs at the nanoporous NiO, toward which the carbonate and carboxylate species may migrate for the complete decomposition. This result is notably distinguished from a NiO-free CNT electrode, where such a passivation layer becomes thicker and precludes electron transfer, thus inducing poor cyclability.</P>
