NOTE ON SOME CHARACTER FORMULAS
( Mahendra Pal Chaudhary ),( Sangeeta Chaudhary ),( Junesang Choi ) 호남수학회 2016 호남수학학술지 Vol.38 No.4
Chaudhary and Choi [7] presented 14 identities which reveal certain interesting interrelations among character formulas, combinatorial partition identities and continued partition identities. In this sequel, we aim to give slightly modified versions for 8 iden- tities which are chosen among the above-mentioned 14 formulas.

Pleiotropic Roles of Metalloproteinases in Hematological Malignancies: an Update
Chaudhary, Ajay K,Chaudhary, Shruti,Ghosh, Kanjaksha,Nadkarni, A Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.7
Controlled remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is essential for cell growth, invasion and metastasis. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of secreted, zinc-dependent endopeptidases capable of degradation of ECM components. The expression and activity of MMPs in a variety of human cancers have been intensively studied. They play important roles at different steps of malignant tumor formation and have central significance in embryogenesis, tissue remodeling, inflammation, angiogenesis and metastasis. However, increasing evidence demonstrates that MMPs are involved earlier in tumorigenesis. Recent studies also suggest that MMPs play complex roles in tumor progression. MMPs and membrane type (MT)-MMPs are potentially significant therapeutic targets in many cancers, so that designing of specific MMP inhibitors would be helpful for clinical trials. Here, we review the pleiotropic roles of the MMP system in hematological malignancies in-vitro and in-vivo models.
ELECANS—an integrated model development environment for multiscale cancer systems biology
Chaudhary, Safee Ullah,Shin, Sung-Young,Lee, Daewon,Song, Je-Hoon,Cho, Kwang-Hyun Oxford University Press 2013 Bioinformatics Vol.29 No.7

Motivation: Computational multiscale models help cancer biologists to study the spatiotemporal dynamics of complex biological systems and to reveal the underlying mechanism of emergent properties. Results: To facilitate the construction of such models, we have developed a next generation modelling platform for cancer systems biology, termed ‘ELECANS’ (electronic cancer system). It is equipped with a graphical user interface-based development environment for multiscale modelling along with a software development kit such that hierarchically complex biological systems can be conveniently modelled and simulated by using the graphical user interface/software development kit combination. Associated software accessories can also help users to perform post-processing of the simulation data for visualization and further analysis. In summary, ELECANS is a new modelling platform for cancer systems biology and provides a convenient and flexible modelling and simulation environment that is particularly useful for those without an intensive programming background.

Availability and implementation: ELECANS, its associated software accessories, demo examples, documentation and issues database are freely available at http://sbie.kaist.ac.kr/sub_0204.php

Contact: ckh@kaist.ac.kr

Supplementary information: Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

In this letter, the analytical design method of a reflection-type coupled line all-pass circuit with arbitrary predefined wideband flat group delay (GD) is presented. The proposed circuit consists of 90 degrees hybrid and coupled lines with a short-circuited load. The proposed structure is simple and does not require any iterative process to obtain optimum circuit parameters. Theoretical and experimental results are provided for validation of the proposed structure. The prototype circuits were fabricated at a center frequency of 2.5 GHz with 2 and 4 ns flat GD responses. The measurement results agreed well with the simulation and theoretical predicted results.

NOTE ON Q-PRODUCT IDENTITIES AND COMBINATORIAL PARTITION IDENTITIES
Chaudhary, M.P.,Salilew, Getachew Abiye The Honam Mathematical Society 2017 호남수학학술지 Vol.39 No.2
The objective of this note is to establish three results between q-products and combinatorial partition identities in a elementary way. Several closely related q-product identities such as (for example)continued fraction identities and Jacobis triple product identities are also considered.
Biofilter in Water and Wastewater Treatment
Chaudhary, Durgananda Singh,Vigneswaran, Saravanamuthu,Ngo, Huu-Hao,Shim, Wang Geun,Moon, Hee 한국화학공학회 2003 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.20 No.6
Biofilter is one of the most important separation processes that can he employed to remove organic pollutants from air, water, and wastewater. Even though, it has been used over a century, it is still difficult to explain thmtically all the biological processes occurring in a hiofilter. In this paper, the fundamental of biological processes involved in the hiofilter is critically reviewed together with the mathematical modeling approach. The important operating and design parameters are discussed in detail with the typical values used for different applications. The most important parameter which governs this pmes is the biomass attached to the medium. The relative merits of Merent methods adopted in the measurement of the hiomass are discussed. The laboratory-and full-scale applications of the biofilter in water and wastewater treatment ax also presented. Their performances in terms of specific pollutant removal are highlighted.

Background: This study aimed to assess the whole-body vibration (WBV) exposure among large blast hole drill machine operators with regard to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recommended threshold values and its association with machine- and rock-related factors and workers' individual characteristics. Methods: The study population included 28 drill machine operators who had worked in four opencast iron ore mines in eastern India. The study protocol comprised the following: measurements of WBV exposure [frequency weighted root mean square (RMS) acceleration ($m/s^2$)], machine-related data (manufacturer of machine, age of machine, seat height, thickness, and rest height) collected from mine management offices, measurements of rock hardness, uniaxial compressive strength and density, and workers' characteristics via face-to-face interviews. Results: More than 90% of the operators were exposed to a higher level WBV than the ISO upper limit and only 3.6% between the lower and upper limits, mainly in the vertical axis. Bivariate correlations revealed that potential predictors of total WBV exposure were: machine manufacturer (r = 0.453, p = 0.015), age of drill (r = 0.533, p = 0.003), and hardness of rock (r = 0.561, p = 0.002). The stepwise multiple regression model revealed that the potential predictors are age of operator (regression coefficient ${\beta}=-0.052$, standard error SE = 0.023), manufacturer (${\beta}=1.093$, SE = 0.227), rock hardness (${\beta}=0.045$, SE = 0.018), uniaxial compressive strength (${\beta}=0.027$, SE = 0.009), and density (${\beta}=-1.135$, SE = 0.235). Conclusion: Prevention should include using appropriate machines to handle rock hardness, rock uniaxial compressive strength and density, and seat improvement using ergonomic approaches such as including a suspension system.
