Budak, Adnan,Gulhan, Ibrahim,Aldemir, Onur Suleyman,Ileri, Alper,Tekin, Emine,Ozeren, Mehmet Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.11
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of pregnancy on prognosis of thyroid cancer. Methods: A total of 72 patients aged between 15-45 years who underwent total or subtotal thyroidectomy and subsequently radioablation were followed up under suppression. Individuals who had term pregnancies after diagnosis of cancer (group 1, n: 36) and who were non-pregnant (group 2, n:36) were included in the study. Both groups were compared in terms of scintigraphic relapse and metastasis, ultrasonographic relapse, stage change of lympadenopathy at the beginning and at the end of the study. Results: Relapse was detected in 4 out of 36 pregnant patients (11.1%) and in 5 out of 36 non-pregnant patients (13.9%) with no significant difference between groups (p=1.00). Pathologic lymphadenopathy was detected in 2 out of 36 pregnant patients (5.6%) and in 2 out of 36 non-pregnant patients (5.6%) (p=1.00), and metastasis in 3 (8.3%) and in 1 (2.8%), respectively (p=0.61). While stage change was detected in only one pregnant patient (2.8%), and none of the non-pregnant again there was no significant difference (p=1.00). Conclusions: We conclude that pregnancy does not have an influence on prognosis of thyroid cancer.
On weighted generalization of opial type inequalities in two variables
Huseyin Budak,Mehmet Zeki Sarikaya,Artion Kashuri 강원경기수학회 2020 한국수학논문집 Vol.28 No.4
In this paper, we establish some weighted generalization of Opial type inequalities in two independent variables for two functions. We also obtain weighted Opial type inequalities by using $p$-norms. Special cases of our results reduce to the inequalities in earlier study.

In this paper, an equality is established by twice-differentiable convex functions with respect to the conformable fractional integrals. Moreover, several Simpson-type inequalities are presented for the case of twice-differentiable convex functions via conformable fractional integrals by using the established equality. Furthermore, our results are provided by using special cases of obtained theorems.
FRACTIONAL TRAPEZOID AND NEWTON TYPE INEQUALITIES FOR DIFFERENTIABLE S-CONVEX FUNCTIONS
Fatih Hezenci,Huseyin Budak,Muhammad Aamir Ali 호남수학회 2023 호남수학학술지 Vol.45 No.1
In the present paper, we prove that our main inequality reduces to some trapezoid and Newton type inequalities for differentiable s-convex functions. These inequalities are established by using the wellknown Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals. With the help of special cases of our main results, we also present some new and previously obtained trapezoid and Newton type inequalities.

Cereal grain-derived protein hydrolysates exert beneficial effects for human health, thus utilization of byproductswith high protein content has drawn attention. In this study, hot water extraction of rice huskhas been optimized to obtain protein hydrolysate with the highest anticancer activity. The optimum proteinvalue was obtained as 2.40 g/L corresponding to 43.2 g protein/kg dried rice husk under the conditionsof 60 C, 2.0 mL/min flow rate and pH 10.0. The protein hydrolysate was encapsulated with chitosan, where the mean particle size of protein hydrolysate (0.3 %) loaded chitosan nanoparticles was 256.4 ± 33. 4 nm with 89 % encapsulation efficiency and a 65% release at the end of 6 days. Cytotoxicity assaysshowed that the lowest cell viabilities have been achieved with A549 and MCF7 cells with IC50 valuesof 1.98 and 3.58 mg/mL, respectively, whereas nuclear fragmentation and apoptotic bodies were observedthrough Hoechst 33342 staining. The cytotoxic effect might be associated with the wide variety of peptide/protein subunits ranging from 10 kDa to more than 180 kDa in the protein hydrolysate of rice husk.

This article establishes an equality for the case of twicedifferentiable convex functions with respect to the conformable fractional integrals. With the help of this identity, we prove sundry midpointtype inequalities by twice-differentiable convex functions according to conformable fractional integrals. Several important inequalities are obtained by taking advantage of the convexity, the Hölder inequality, and the power mean inequality. Using the specific selection of our results, we obtain several new and well-known results in the literature.

In this study, some new inequalities of Hermite-Hadamard type for convex and co-ordinated convex functions via Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals are derived. It is also shown that the results obtained in this paper are the extension of some earlier ones.
Characteristics of Deep Neck Infection in Children According to Weight Percentile
Mehmet Fatih Garca,Ali Budak,Nihat Demir,Hakan Cankaya,Ahmet Faruk Kiroglu 대한이비인후과학회 2014 Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology Vol.7 No.2
Objectives. To evaluate the effect of weight percentile on deep neck infections in children. Methods. A retrospective evaluation of 79 patients who were treated for deep neck infections. The patients were divided into six groups according to weight percentile. Patients who had systemic and/or congenital disease were excluded. Their demographics, etiology, localization, laboratory, and treatment results were reviewed. Results. In total, 79 pediatric patients were recorded: 48.1% were females and 51.9% were males, with a mean age of 7.3 years. In total, 60 patients were under the 50th percentile according to their weight versus all children. The antero- posterior triangle (29.1%) and submandibular (26.5%) spaces were most commonly involved with deep neck infec- tion. However, the anteroposterior triangle space was the highest in the group below the 3rd percentile (44.4%). In the blood analysis, white blood cell levels in patients with at percentile values of 75–50 were higher than other groups (P<0.05). Significant differences were found between C-reactive protein and hemoglobin levels and diameter of abscesses. The need for surgical drainage in patients in lower percentiles was higher. The patients who needed sur- gical drainage consisted of 56 patients (93.3%) below the 50th percentile and 9 patients (100%) below the 3rd per- centile. Conclusion. Deep neck infection is more insidious and dangerous in low-weight-percentile children, especially those hav- ing low white blood cell counts, low hemoglobin levels, and high C-reactive protein in laboratory results.

This paper evaluates the effects of topographical and geotechnical irregularities on the dynamic response of the 2-D soil-structure systems under ground motion by coupling finite and infinite elements. A numerical procedure is employed, and a parametric study is carried out for single-faced slope topographies. It is concluded that topographic conditions may have important effects on the ground motion along the slope. The geotechnical properties of the soil will also have significantly amplified effects on the whole system motion, which cannot be neglected for design purposes. So, dynamic response of a soil-structure systems are primarily affected by surface shapes and geotechnical properties of the soil. Location of the structure is another parameter affecting the whole system response.
