In order to study the cross-type rigid steel frame node hysteretic behavior of components, the axial compression ratio, H type steel column web thickness, girder section and stiffener as design parameters, 8 steel frame cross-type rigid joints and a T-type rigid joint are designed. Based on simplified mechanical model and constitutive relations of material, using ABAQUS software the corresponding finite element model is established and the hysteretic performance analysis is carried out. Through comparison between given T-type node test results and analysis results, both are in good agreement, thus the rationality of the finite element model established in this paper is verified. Simulation analysis of cross-type node is developed in further, load -displacement hysteretic curve of nodes, skeleton curve, envelope figure and the stress nephogram are extracted and comparative analysis is conducted, influence regularity of four parameters on the seismic behavior of the joints is obtained. The corresponding design suggestion for the axial compression ratio and column web and flange thickness ratio is proposed, design limit value of axial compression ratio of column should be taken as 0.5 and limit value of column web and flange thickness ratio is taken as 0.75,and these can provide reference for actual engineering design.

<P>Expression of c-Fos in the spinal cord following nociceptive stimulation is considered to be a neurotoxic biomarker. In the present study, the immunoreactivity of c-Fos in the spinal cord was compared between young adult (2-3 years in dogs and 6 months in mice) and aged (10-12 years in dogs and 24 months in mice) Beagle dogs and C57BL/6J mice. In addition, changes to neuronal distribution and damage to the spinal cord were also investigated. There were no significant differences in neuronal loss or degeneration of the spinal neurons observed in either the aged dogs or mice. Weak c-Fos immunoreactivity was observed in the spinal neurons of the young adult animals; however, c-Fos immunoreactivity was markedly increased in the nuclei of spinal neurons in the aged dogs and mice, as compared with that of the young adults. In conclusion, c-Fos immunoreactivity was significantly increased without any accompanying neuronal loss in the aged spinal cord of mice and dogs, as compared with the spinal cords of the young adult animals.</P>

<P>Brain inflammation has a crucial role in various diseases of the central nervous system. The hippocampus in the mammalian brain exerts an important memory function, which is sensitive to various insults, including inflammation induced by exo/endotoxin stimuli. Tetanus toxin (TeT) is an exotoxin with the capacity for neuronal binding and internalization. The present study investigated changes in inflammatory mediators in the mouse hippocampus proper (CA1-3 regions) and dentate gyrus (DG) after TeT treatment. The experimental mice were intraperitoneally injected with TeT at a low dosage (100 ng/kg), while the control mice were injected with the same volume of saline. At 6, 12 and 24 h after TeT treatment, changes in the hippocampal levels of inflammatory mediators cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB/p65) were assessed using immunohistochemical and western blot analysis. In the control group, moderate COX-2 immunoreactivity was observed in the stratum pyramidal (SP) of the CA2-3 region, while almost no expression was identified in the CA1 region and the DG. COX-2 immunoreactivity was increased by TeT in the SP and granule cell layer (GCL) of the DG in a time-dependent manner. At 24 h post-treatment, COX-2 immunoreactivity in the SP of the CA1 region and in the GCL of the DG was high, and COX-2 immunoreactivity in the SP of the CA2/3 region was highest. Furthermore, the present study observed that NF-κB/p65 immunoreactivity was obviously increased in the SP and GCL at 6, 12 and 24 h after TeT treatment. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that systemic treatment with TeT significantly increased the expression of COX-2 and NF-κB/p65 in the mouse hippo-campus, suggesting that increased COX-2 and NF-κB/65 expression may be associated with inflammation in the brain induced by exotoxins.</P>

TIM-1 (also known as KIM-1 and HAVcr-1) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein member of the TIM family that may play important roles in innate and adaptive immune responses. The overexpression of proteins associated with membrane proteins is a major obstacle to overcome in studies of membrane protein structures and functions. In this study, we successfully coupled the overexpression of the TIM-1 protein with a C-terminal enhanced green fluorescent protein (GFP) tag in Escherichia coli. To the best of our knowledge, this report is the first to describe the overexpression of human TIM-1 in E. coli. The purified TIM-1-EGFP fusion protein recognized and bound directly to apoptotic cells and did not to bind to viable cells. Furthermore, we confirmed that the interactions of TIM-1-EGFP with apoptotic cells were blocked by TIM-1-Fc fusion proteins. This fusion protein represents a readily obtainable source of biologically active TIM-1 that may prove useful in future studies of human TIM-1.

An outbreak of Staphylococcus aureus infections occurred in a university with an enrollment of 80 students in the city of Daejon, Republic of Korea. All nine S. aureus isolates from patients (n = 7), staff members (n = 1), and the fried chicken served as the lunch (n = 1) harbored the enterotoxin A gene and showed an identical antibioticresistant profile, PFGE banding pattern (STAS16.001), and sequence type, ST 6. These results suggested that the outbreak was associated with eating the fried chicken that had been handled by an infected staff member. This case report demonstrated a practical approach to identifying the source and transmission of an infection.

The residual stress in beryllium films fabricated on K9 substrates by using magnetron sputtering deposition is measured by using a curvature method and is theoretically estimated by using the Nix and Clemens (NC) model. The experimental results indicate that the 1.3-μm-thick film is always in a tensile state for pressure variations in the range from 0.4 to 1.2 Pa. When the sputtering gas pressure is increased, the average stress increases at first, after which it decreases by a remarkable amount. The observed descending trend of the tensile stress when the sputtering gas pressure is beyond 0.6 Pa is mainly attributed to the grain size in the film being larger than that in the film when the pressure is below 0.6 Pa. The maximal residual stress of 552 MPa at a sputtering gas pressure of 0.6 Pa is close to the tensile strength (550 MPa) of the corresponding beryllium bulk material and is about 8 times smaller than that calculated by using the N-C model. In addition, the surface morphologies of the as-fabricated films reveal fibrous grains while the cross-sectional morphologies are characterized by a coarsening of columnar grains. The measured electric resistivity of each film strongly depends on its porosity and the sizes of its grains.
Picosecond Mid-Infrared 3.8 μm MgO:PPLN Optical Parametric Oscillator Laser with High Peak Power
Bing-Yan Chen,Yu-Heng Wang,Yong-Ji Yu,Guang-Yong Jin 한국광학회 2021 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.5 No.2
In this study, a compact, picosecond, mid-infrared 3.8 μm MgO:PPLN optical parametric oscillator(OPO) laser output with high peak power is realized using a master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA)1 μm solid-state laser seeded by a picosecond fiber laser as the pump source. The pump source was a 50MHz and 10 ps fiber seed source. After AOM pulse selection and two-stage solid-state amplification, a 1,064 nm laser output with a repetition frequency of 1–2 MHz, pulse width of 9.5 ps, and a maximum average power of 20 W was achieved. Furthermore, a compact short cavity with a unsynchronized pump is adopted through the design of an OPO cavity structure. When the injection pump power was 15 W and the repetition frequency was 1 MHz, the average output power of idler light was 1.19 W, and the corresponding peak power was 119 kW. The optical conversion efficiency was 7.93%. When the repetition frequency was increased to 2 MHz, the average output power of idler light was 1.63 W, the corresponding peak power was 81.5 kW, and the optical conversion efficiency was 10.87%. At the same time, the output wavelength was measured at 3,806 nm, and the beam quality was M X2 = 3.21 and M Y2 = 3.34.
Robust Control Design of A Class of Nonlinear Systems in Polynomial Lower-Triangular Form
Bing Wang,Haibo Ji,Jin Zhu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2009 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.7 No.1
This paper investigates the problem of global robust stabilization for a wide class of nonlinear systems, called polynomial lower-triangular form (pLTF), which expands LTF to a more general case. The aim is explicitly constructing the smooth controller for the class of systems with static uncertainties, by adding and modifying a power integrator in a recursive manner. The pLTF relaxes the restrictions on the structure of the normal LTF and enlarges the family of systems that are stabilizable. Examples are also provided to show the practical usage of this class of systems and the effectiveness of the design method.

The existing push-out test results showed that the ultimate shear capacities and ultimate slips of tie-bars and studs under cyclic loading were signifi cantly lower than those under monotonic loading, which could signifi cantly aff ect the seismic performance of steel–plate concrete composite (SC) structures. The fl exural behavior of two SC beams subjected to cyclic loading was investigated. Specimen SCB1 using tie-bars was partial shear connection, and specimen SCB2 using tie-bars and studs was full shear connection. The failure modes, hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, equivalent lateral stiff ness, energy dissipation, interfacial slip distribution, interfacial shear distributions, and strain in steel plates were researched. The experimental results show that two SC specimens were brittle failure, which primarily resulted from premature shear fracture of shear connectors at the interfaces between steel plate and concrete. Finally, two existing codes for SC structures were used to analyze the bending moment and shear of SC beams as well as interfacial shear of tie-bars and studs. This indicates that due to the diff erence of shear connection ratio between two specimens, the interfacial shear distributions of two SC beams were signifi cantly diff erent.
