이 연구는 한반도를 둘러싼 국내외 안보 상황과 한국군에 대한 국민의 변화된 인식에 부합하는 정신전력 개념을 발전시키고, 이를 체계적으로 측정하기 위한 도구를 개발하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 각 군의 정신전력 교육의 목표 및 내용, 핵심가치들 등에 대한 자료를 분석하고, 관련 선행연구와 법령 등을 종합적으로 검토하였으며, 초점집단 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview: FGI) 등을 통해 이해당사자 및 전문가의 의견을 수렴하여 공감대가 높은 정신전력의 개념을 새롭게 정의하고 그에 따른 구인지도(構因地圖, Construct-Map)를 작성하였다. 구인지도는 정신전력을 구성하는 하위구인과 하위요소를 추출·선정한 것으로, 정신전력은 ‘투철한 국가관’, ‘확고한 안보관’, ‘강인한 군인정신’으로 구성되었으며, 그 중 ‘강인한 군인정신’은 ‘엄정한 군기’, ‘왕성한 사기’, ‘굳은 단결’로 구성되었다. 또한, 이를 체계적으로 측정하기 위한 문항들(총 150개)을 개발하여 초점집단 인터뷰(FGI)를 통해 내용타당도를 검증하고 각 군장병들(총 4,351명)을 대상으로 예비검사(Pilot Test)를 실시하여 측정도구의 타당도와 신뢰도 등 양호도를 체계적으로 검증하였다. 최종적으로 완성된 측정도구는 ‘투철한 국가관’(10개 문항), ‘확고한 안보관’(10개 문항), ‘강인한 군인정신’(45개 문항)의 총 65개 문항으로, 하위구인 및 정신전력 측정도구 모두 타당도와 신뢰도가 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 보다 체계적이고 일관된 정신전력교육 및 평가를 위해 발전된 정신전력의 개념과 측정도구를 정신전력 진단 및 교육에 반영하고 환류할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. The purpose of this study lies in developing and validating the concept and measurement scale of the mental strength of military soldiers, reflecting dynamic situations around the globe and the new expectations for military soldiers. To this end, we first comprehensively reviewed and analyzed relevant legislation, literature, and assessment tools that had hitherto been used for education and survey of military soldiers’ mental strength. Then, Focus Group Interview (FGI) was conducted upon content experts and stakeholders of the military. Aggregating the results of literature review and Focus Group Interview, we defined the concept of ‘mental strength of military soldiers’ and established a construct map of ‘mental strength of military soldiers’ to be constituted of three main domains of ‘perspective to the nation’, ‘perspective to security’, and ’soldier spirit.’ In order to examine if the construct map is supported by empirical evidence, a preliminary measurement scale of 150 items was developed and a pilot test was executed upon 4,351 soldiers sampled from the army, navy, air force, and marine corps. Consequently, a finalized measurement scale of 65 items (constituted of 10 short-answer questions and 55 Likert-type questions) was verified of its validity and reliability via Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), reliability analysis (using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient), and correlation analysis. Moreover, the validity and reliability of the measurement scale also proved that the construct map was solidly supported by actual data.

Methane is a potent greenhouse gas that is produced naturally through various bioogical processes, includin the decomposition of organic matter. Two common sources of methane production are cow dung and paddy soil. Cow dung is a rich source of organic matter and is widely used as a fertilizer and fuel. Methane production from cow dung occurs in the rumen of cows durin the digestion process, where the bacteria present in the rumen break down the organic matter and produce methane as a by-product. The major methanogens are members of the Archaea domain, specifically the genus Methan-obrevibacter. These methanogens are known to produce methane by breaking down the complex organic matter in the cow's stomach. Paddy soil is the soil used for cultivating paddy rice, which is flooded with water during the growing season. The flooded conditions create anaerobic conditions, which promote the growth of methanogenic bacteria is the soil. These bcteria brea down the organic matter in the soil and produce methane as a by-product, which is released into the atmosphere through the rice plant roots and the soil surface. The major methanogens are also member of the Archaea domain, but they belong to a different genus called Methanosaeta. Methanosaeta are known to produce methane by metabolizing acetate, which is produced by other microorganisms in the soil. In this report, we compare the methane production of two different agricultural methane sources n terms of bacterial diversity and biochemical pathways for methane production.

<P>A Na<SUB>3</SUB>V<SUB>2</SUB>(PO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>3</SUB>/C cathode synthesized by a polyol-assisted pyro-synthetic reaction and subsequent sintering delivered a discharge capacity of 235 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP>, corresponding to an extraction of 4 Na per formula with steady capacity retention and impressive rate capabilities that maintain 56% of theoretical capacity at 2.67 C.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>A carbon-coated Na<SUB>3</SUB>V<SUB>2</SUB>(PO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>3</SUB>/C cathode was prepared by a pyro-synthetic process for sodium-ion batteries. The prepared cathode was aided by a carbon-network formed within the structure and possessed a high surface area of 159.4 m<SUP>2</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP> and dual porosity with pore-sizes in the mesopore range. A recent advance in communication technologies accelerates the spread of food safety issues once presented by the news media. To respond to those safety issues and take steps in a timely manner, automatically detecting related information from the news data matters. This work presents an AI-based system that detects risk information within a food-related news article. Experts in food safety areas participated in labeling risk information from the food-related news articles; we acquired 43,527 articles in which food names and risk information are marked as labels. Based on the news document, our system automatically detects food names and risk information by analyzing similarities between words within a text by leveraging learned word embedding vectors. Our AI-based system shows higher detection accuracy scores over a non-AI rule-based system: achieving an absolute gain of +32.94% in F1 for the food name category and +41.53% for the risk information category.

<▼1><P>The <I>Chlamydomonas reinhardtii</I> LTD null mutant generated by CRISPR–Cas9, displayed aberrant PSI–LHCI holocomplexes, suggesting that the LTD protein may selectively function in PSI–LHCI assembly in green microalgae</P></▼1><▼2><P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Nuclear-encoded light-harvesting chlorophyll- and carotenoid-binding proteins (LHCPs) are imported into the chloroplast and transported across the stroma to thylakoid membrane assembly sites by the chloroplast signal recognition particle (CpSRP) pathway. The LHCP translocation defect (LTD) protein is essential for the delivery of imported LHCPs to the CpSRP pathway in <I>Arabidopsis</I>. However, the function of the LTD protein in <I>Chlamydomonas reinhardtii</I> has not been investigated. Here, we generated a <I>C. reinhardtii ltd</I> (<I>Crltd</I>) knockout mutant by using CRISPR–Cas9, a new target-specific knockout technology. The <I>Crltd1</I> mutant showed a low chlorophyll content per cell with an unusual increase in appressed thylakoid membranes and enlarged cytosolic vacuoles. Profiling of thylakoid membrane proteins in the <I>Crltd1</I> mutant showed a more severe reduction in the levels of photosystem I (PSI) core proteins and absence of functional LHCI compared with those of photosystem II, resulting in a much smaller PSI pool size and diminished chlorophyll antenna size. The lack of CrLTD did not prevent photoautotrophic growth of the cells. These results are substantially different from those for Arabidopsis <I>ltd</I> null mutant, indicating LTD function in LHCP delivery and PSI assembly may not be as stringent in <I>C. reinhardtii</I> as it is in higher plants.</P></▼2>

<P>Nanocrystalline LiFePO4/C has been synthesized under a very short period of time (90 sec) using a polyol-assisted microwave heating synthesis technique. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) data indicates that the rapidly synthesized materials correspond to phase pure olivine. Post-annealing of the as-prepared sample at 600 °C in argon atmosphere yields highly crystalline LiFePO4/C. The morphology of the samples studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) reveals the presence of secondary particles formed from aggregation of primary particles in the range of 30-50 nm. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images reveal a thin carbon layer coating on the surface of the primary particle. The charge/discharge studies indicate that the as-prepared and annealed LiFePO4/C samples delivered initial discharge capacities of 126 and 160 mA h g-1, respectively, with good capacity retentions at 0.05 mA cm-2 current densities. The post-annealing process indeed improves the crystallinity of the LiFePO4 nanocrystals, which enhances the electrode performance of LiFePO4/C.</P>
