حجازيو"مدينة بلا قلب" للشاعر المصري أحمد عب&

Mahmoud Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar 한국아랍어아랍문학회 2011 아랍어와 아랍문학 Vol.15 No.1

The image of the city became the main theme, and started to play an important rhetoric role in poetic works during the Second World War period in the modern Egyptian poetry. As a result of the war, changes in the Arab world occurred not only in politics, economics, society and history, but also in literature. Korean literature has changed after the Second World War too, but, as much as I know, the city didn’t become the main theme in poetry, the main reason, as I think, is that Arabic poetry followed the steps of the modern western poetry, classic, romantic, realistic, and the free verse, while the modern Korean poetry kept his own view point from one side, and made a successful connection with literature from the whole world, from the other side. In his first anthology “City without heart” Hejazy he has two views of the city. The first was a rejection of the city, and a yearning to return to his village and be with the people there. The second was the development of a compromise with the city. The poet felt real love and through his growing acceptance, he managed to see the good side of the city alongside the bad. The city of Kim Kwang Kyu is wetness for what happened to Korea and Korean society back further more three or four decades, where, for example, pollution and death were everywhere sensed and reported, so his poems offer an impressive self-portrait of a society in which everyone is reduced. The dominant tone of his collection is not a sentimental regret for the past, but a dark satire of the de-humanizing results of those processes which the public authorities often term“modernization”. The study will shed light on “City” and the methods employed in the technical literature of the writers. The study comparatively addressed the object lessons found in the meaning of the writers on one hand, while, on the other hand, looked at the main technical characteristics of the poets using analysis models of poetry. Hejazy was one of the first Arab poets talking about the city not only in one poem but in a whole collection, showing its ugly face, seeking for better life that can use the benefits of modernity without losing the great values that people already still have in the country side for example It is one of the achievements of Kim Kwang Kyu`s poems that they have made many aware of the deeper roots of the frequently criticized attitudes of selfishness and compromise they seem at first sight to characterize the modern urban mentality. He explores in his poems topics that more often the subjects of novels and short stories than of lyric verse. Thus the conclusion of these poems for modern humanity is that it is within the present reality that another, dreamed-of reality of freedom and truth has to be constructed by choice and by struggle.

이집트 현대아랍시에 나타난 도시의 이미지에 관한 연구: 심장없는 도시를 중심으로

Mahmoud Ahmed Abd El Ghaffar 한국아랍어아랍문학회 2007 아랍어와 아랍문학 Vol.11 No.2

There can be no doubt that the image of the city in modern Egyptian poetry became the main theme, and started to play an important rhetoric role in poetic works during the Second World War period. As a result of the war, changes in the Arab world occurred not only in politics, economics, society and history, but also in literature. In the classical texts, such as those of Shawqi or Hafiz Ibraheem, the city was just the background, giving real historical meaning to the poem. It was a testimony of the relation between the poet and history on one side, and nature, the country, and the people on the other. In the romantic texts of Najy, Abou Shadi, and Mahmoud Hassan Ismaiel, it was an ugly and bad place compared with the beauty and the pureness of the countryside, but yet it was not the main theme in these poems. The romantic sorrow, nostalgia, vague metaphysical doubts and yearns, the sense of mystery in the universe, the idealization of women and love all became the common themes. With the realism of poetry from writers such as Hijazi, we can find in his first anthology “City without heart” that he has two views of the city. The first was a rejection of the city, hating everything that belongs to it. There were feelings of loneliness and unfamiliarity with its people, and a yearning to return to his village and be with the people there. The second was the development of a compromise with the city. The poet felt real love, with a woman, and with the country itself, so he started to accept the city, and through his growing acceptance, he managed to see the good side of the city alongside the bad.

      • Co-Expression Network Analysis of AMPK and Autophagy Gene Products during Adipocyte Differentiation

        Ahmed, Mahmoud,Hwang, Jin Seok,Lai, Trang Huyen,Zada, Sahib,Nguyen, Huynh Quoc,Pham, Trang Min,Yun, Miyong,Kim, Deok Ryong MDPI 2018 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR SCIENCES Vol.19 No.6

<P>Autophagy is involved in the development and differentiation of many cell types. It is essential for the pre-adipocytes to respond to the differentiation stimuli and may contribute to reorganizing the intracellulum to adapt the morphological and metabolic demands. Although AMPK, an energy sensor, has been associated with autophagy in several cellular processes, how it connects to autophagy during the adipocyte differentiation remains to be investigated. Here, we studied the interaction between AMPK and autophagy gene products at the mRNA level during adipocyte differentiation using public-access datasets. We used the weighted-gene co-expression analysis to detect and validate multiple interconnected modules of co-expressed genes in a dataset of MDI-induced 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. These modules were found to be highly correlated with the differentiation course of the adipocytes. Several novel interactions between AMPK and autophagy gene products were identified. Together, it is possible that AMPK-autophagy interaction is temporally and locally modulated in response to the differentiation stimuli.</P>

Percutaneous gastrostomy tube placement of the excluded gastric remnant after laparoscopic bariatric surgery in three patients

        Mahmoud Ali,Ahmed Aly,Ayahallah Ahmed,Joseph Stavas 소화기인터벤션의학회 2021 International journal of gastrointestinal interven Vol.10 No.3

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is the most common bariatric surgery in the United States. RYGB is a successful and safe procedure that promotes weight loss, improves medical comorbidities and overall quality of life. Following RYGB, endoscopic access to the biliopancreatic limb and the excluded stomach is limited due to altered anatomy. Access to the excluded stomach maybe needed for management of complications following RYGB as gastric remnant decompression duo to biliopancreatic limb obstruction or nutritional support due to postoperative malnutrition. We report three cases of RYGB complications that necessitated percutaneous gastrostomy.

Allelic variation of melanocortin-1 receptor locus in Saudi indigenous sheep exhibiting different color coats

Mahmoud, Ahmed H.,Mashaly, Ashraf M.,Rady, Ahmed M.,Al-Anazi, Khalid M.,Saleh, Amgad A. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2017 Animal Bioscience Vol.30 No.2

Objective: This study was designed to characterize the DNA polymorphisms of the melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R) gene in indigenous Saudi Arabian sheep breeds exhibiting different color coats, along with individuals of the Sawaknee breed, an exotic sheep imported from Sudan. Methods: The complete coding region of MC1R gene including parts of 3' and 5' untranslated regions was amplified and sequenced from three the indigenous Saudi sheep; Najdi (generally black, n = 41), Naeimi (generally white with brown faces, n = 36) and Herri (generally white, n = 18), in addition to 13 Sawaknee sheep. Results: Five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were detected in the MC1R gene: two led to nonsynonymous mutations (c.218 T>A, p.73 Met>Lys and c.361 G>A, p.121 Asp>Asn) and three led to synonymous mutations (c.429 C>T, p.143 Tyr>Tyr; c.600 T>G, p.200 Leu>Leu, and c.735 C>T, p.245 Ile>Ile). Based on these five SNPs, eight haplotypes representing MC1R $E^d$ and $E^+$ alleles were identified among the studied sheep breeds. The most common haplotype (H3) of the dominant $E^d$ allele was associated with either black or brown coat color in Najdi and Sawaknee sheep, respectively. Two other haplotypes (H6 and H7) of $E^d$ allele, with only the nonsynonymous mutation A218T, were detected for the first time in Saudi indigenous sheep. Conclusion: In addition to investigating the MC1R allelic variation in Saudi indigenous sheep populations, the present study supports the assumption that the two independent nonsynonymous Met73Lys and Asp121Asn mutations in MC1R gene are associated with black or red coat colors in sheep breeds.

      • Literature's relation with our viewpoints; Reading "Hope is Lonely" by Korean Poet "Kim Seung Hee“

Mahmoud Ahmed 조선대학교 국제문화연구원 2015 국제문화연구 Vol.8 No.1

Reading poetry looks like an adventure or more like waking in landmine; therefore one should look carefully before every single step. One should not be scared of misunderstanding the deep meaning of the poems neither the lack of interpretation skills, but one should seriously consider to be good enough to introduce a piece of diamond as it really is. This paper tried to discuss the relation and the influence of literature in our viewpoints. It assumes that literature has the power to change our viewpoints towards ourselves and the whole world around us. That was the theoretical part of the paper, the practical or what I can say the analyzing part starts with the influence of three Korean poets in my viewpoints and my life, then the influence of the very important book “hope is lonely” for the great poet “Kim Seung Hee” in in the way I started to look at things after I finished reading it. The paper took a short look at Kim Seung Hee`s growing up back ground, some of her words about how she sees poetry, the way that critics see her work s in general “she is a dreamer of metamorphosis who is still dreaming of hatching out, still dreaming of transforming herself into a beautiful butterfly, and still dreaming of soaring into the sky as a free spirit.” and the most important features of her poetry. The book came in 152 pages (8).Poems are short, less than 10 lines and usually it`s intensive and not more than one page. The book started with the poet`s word the sections of the book and finally the critical comment. The book includes 65 poems divided into 4 sections. The first section consists of 23 poems and starts with a poem taking about hope and it`s relation with poetry as the poet sees it. the word “hope” comes again as a title with poem No.3 “희망의 연옥”, then there are 10 poems with the title of “what we call~/ ~ 라는 말 ”. Second section consists of 18 poems, 17 out of that number taking about the gloomy Seoul and last poem came with the title”모던 타임스”. Section 3 consists of 16 poems, 6 poems with title of “모차르트의엉덩이” and 3 poems with title of “달걀 속의 생6-7-8”. The paper selected one or two poems from each section and tried to analyze them to get more close to the poet`s viewpoint to the world. At the end the paper found out that It`s true that “hope” is something we can just imagine, it`s an abstract thing, but with this book we saw it, we smelled it and we choke hands with it, nevertheless the book is about reality and it tries seriously to criticize the society and civilization we live in. it`s very true that the poet is similar to Han River as the commentary part of the book said; she carries all good and bad, all heavy and light things and never stop running without complain. She is like the land that suffers and bleeds when farmers cut it with the axe but still bears and brings lives to everybody.

        Review of Heterotopic Thyroid Autotransplantation

Mahmoud Sakr,Ahmed Mahmoud 대한이비인후과학회 2017 Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology Vol.10 No.4

Total thyroidectomy is increasingly accepted for the management of bilateral benign thyroid disorders. Postoperatively, patients require lifelong levothyroxine replacement therapy to avoid postoperative hypothyroidism, which besides the burden of compliance, has been proven to be associated with several long-term side effects. Heterotopic thyroid autotransplantation was proposed several decades ago to avoid the need for life-long postoperative replacement therapy with maintaining the autoregulatory mechanism of thyroxin production inside the body according to its needs. Available data regarding this topic in literature is relatively poor. Before applying thyroid autotransplantation on humans, several studies have been done on animals, where the autologous transplantations were found to be successful in almost all the cases, proved by follow up postoperative 8-week measurements of thyroid hormones and histopathological examination of the removed autografts. Regarding the clinical application, few trials have been done using cryopreserved in vivo, in vitro or immediately autotransplanted thyroid autografts. Satisfactory results were obtained, however, the number of these studies and the number of patients per each study was very low. Besides the study methodologies were not so consistent.

Surface, thermodynamic and biological activities of some synthesized Gemini quaternary ammonium salts based on polyethylene glycol

AHMED SALAH MAHMOUD TAWFIK,Ali A. Abd-Elaal,새미사반,A.A. Roshdy 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.30 No.-

Quaternary ammonium salts are frequently used as antimicrobial agents that disrupt cell membranethrough the binding of their ammonium cations to anionic sites in the outer tissue of bacteria. This articledescribes the synthesis of Gemini quaternary ammonium salts (G600Br, G1000Br and G1500Br). Thechemical structures of synthesized Gemini quaternary ammonium salts were confirmed using FT-IR and1HNMR spectra. The surface activity of the synthesized surfactants were determined from the surfaceand interfacial tension measurements. The surface parameter including: the critical micelleconcentration (CMC), effectiveness (pcmc), efficiency (Pc20), maximum surface excess (Gmax) andminimum surface area (Amin), were calculated from the surface tension measurements, also, the foamingand emulsification power were measured. The thermodynamic parameters of micellization andadsorption showed their tendency towards adsorption at the interfaces and also micellization in the bulkof their solutions. Screening tests of the synthesized compounds showed that the compounds exhibit aneffective antimicrobial activity on a variety of bacteria including Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilisand Micrococcus luteus), Gram-negative bacteria (Bordetella pertussis and Escherichia coli) and Fungi(Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger).

Synthesis, characterization, and in vitro antifungal activity of anionic and nonionic surfactants against crop pathogenic fungi

AHMED SALAH MAHMOUD TAWFIK,Mohamed F. Zaky,Tahany G.M. Mohammad,Hanaa A.E. Attia 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.29 No.-

Fungi have long been identified as causal agents of plant diseases. The development of plant antifungalactivity was attempted by synthesis of a new type of anionic and nonionic surfactant. The surfaceproperties were studied, including critical micelle concentration (CMC), effectiveness (pcmc), maximumsurface excess (Gmax), and minimum surface area (Amin). Free energy of micellization and adsorption wascalculated (DG8mic and DG8ads). The antifungal activity of the prepared surfactants was verified in vitro bythe poisoned food technique against eight phytopathogenic fungi: Colletotrichum dematium, Drechslerahawaiiensis, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, Humicola fuscoatra, Pestalotia laurocerasi, Phoma spp.,and Phytophthra. The results reported that the percentage inhibition of mycelial growth increases withincreasing concentrations of the surfactant for all fungal species used. These results indicated that thesurfactant inhibited the mycelial growth of all fungal species in a dose-dependent manner. Blendsurfactants have a potential antifungal effect for the control of some phytopathogenic fungi.
