        Implementation of co-teaching approach in an inclusive classroom: overview of the challenges, readiness, and role of special education teacher

        The objective of this study was to determine the relationship aspect of the challenge, readiness, and the role of special education teacher (SET) in implementing common approaches in inclusive classrooms. Experiences as a moderator were used to see the effect of the co-teaching component. This study used a sampling method that involved 240 respondent’s representatives of the population of SET in Malaysia. The findings of this study showed that there was a high positive tendency in choosing the approach that is likely to progress than the existing ones. In this area, there were challenges and readiness of positive selection than teacher experience. Overall, this study could impact the implementation of co-teaching approach than the implementation of the existing programme.

        Sole Proprietorship Business Succession in Malaysia: A Perspective of Civil and Islamic Law*

        Issues relating to business inheritance are a primary focus for business owners. Business inheritance is critical to ensuring that the business can be managed by the next generation and family members can benefit from the earnings and revenues. Therefore, preliminary planning must be done while the business owner is still alive by selecting the appropriate business inheritance mechanism for Muslims in Malaysia. The mechanisms of business inheritance, notably faraid, hibah, amanah, and hibah amanah will be examined in this paper from both a civil and Islamic perspective. By reviewing written journals and previous research, this research utilizes the library method. According to this study, business succession can be carried out by naming a beneficiary as a partner in the company or by completing the ownership transfer process while the owner is still living. In the other situation, it can be done by anyone among the heirs agreeing to re-register the business as usual. Meanwhile, there are four main instruments in Islamic law that can be used: faraid, hibah, amanah, and commercial hibah. According to this study, each instrument has a different impact on business succession. Entrepreneurs should use these instruments in their firm succession planning.

        Determinants of students’ outcome: a full-fledged structural equation modelling approach

        The vibrant demand for academic excellence in the twenty-first century has brought diverse determinants of students’ outcome into play. However, few studies have validated the instruments and examined the mediating effect between exogenous and endogenous variables of the student outcome model. This study, therefore, investigates the psychometric properties of four scales: two modified subscales of SERVQUAL: quality of teaching and learning and quality of classroom, qualified instructional leader and student outcome. It also investigates student outcome determinants and the role of teaching and learning and classroom quality in mediating the relationship between qualified instructional leaders and student outcomes. The study adopts a full-fledged structural equation modelling approach and analyses data collected through a total of 450 questionnaires distributed among undergraduates of a public university in Malaysia. The findings demonstrate that student outcomes and qualified instructional leader instruments comprise three dimensions, whereas teaching and learning and classroom quality instruments comprise a single dimension each and support the composite reliability, convergence and discriminant validity of the scales. The results indicate that determinants of student outcome predict learning student outcomes. The results also demonstrate that teaching and learning quality strongly and positively mediates the relationship between qualified instructional leaders and student outcomes, whereas classroom quality positively but weakly mediates the relationship. The theoretical and practical implications of the study were also addressed.
