SEAT(Seat Effective Amplitude Transmissibility) index is used to evaluate a ride comfort under a vehicle driving condition. The objective evaluation methodology using several accelerometers is proposed to derive objective index which is more reasonable than subjective evaluation. Moreover, CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) methodology is proposed to obtain simulation results using the measured acceleration data at seat mountings as input conditions to seat system assembly. Finally, several case studies are conducted for maximizing a ride comfort using CAE model.

Seats in autonomous vehicles must be able to rotate to fully utilize the interior space. Generally, ultra-high strength steel is used for the rotation module because it should have high strength and high rigidity. In addition, the rotating parts are difficult to form because they have complex shapes. In this study, the upper plate of the rotating module, whose complex shape makes it difficult to form, was formed by applying the hot stamping method. The drawing method and the form-drawing method, which are generally used to form components of complex shapes, were compared. We showed that the form-drawing method increased the degree of freedom of the material flow to improve the formability, thus enabling the forming of the plate. In addition, the die and blank shapes were found to be important factors in determining the success of the hot stamping. The validity of the analysis results was confirmed through forming analysis and experiments.
잔류응력 측정과 내구환경 시험을 통한 COCKPIT MODULE 내구성에 관한 연구

The key of lighter parts manufacturing and design is the technology called thin wall-the molding. It is the technology of plastic parts from engineering thermoplastics with wall thickness thinner than conventional parts of similar geometry. The actual cutoff thickness will vary based on a number of variables, including the fluidity, size and flow length of part. As thickness is reduced, residual stress of part get higher. So this study validates durability of cockpit module by measurement of residual stress and KEY LIFE test. And, To achieve a good performance of car crash test, the several parts of cockpit module were evaluated by CAE.
자동차 네비게이션 시스템을 위한 햅틱 시트의 평가에 관한 연구

This study has confirmed that subjective positive and negative aspects a driver feels by applying haptic seat on a vehicle to substantiate vehicle navigation system. Our experiment with total twenty subjects provides that the reaction time (RT) is superior in haptic interface than visual or auditory interface but subjective satisfaction, which subjects feel, and workload is less low in a simulator environment. Although, the difference of individuals and unfamiliarity is relatively high inasmuch as the experiment of absolutely new technology, but overall satisfaction of haptic seat is high. The result of study provides some consideration and direction to need in implementation of a haptic seat and it also confirms their possibility meaningfully. We expect the interaction between a driver and a vehicle and safety improvement potentially through applied haptic seat on actual vehicles.

For driving, passenger has experienced various types of road situation; straight/curved roads, paved/unpaved roads. Long-time driving exposes passenger to centrifugal force and vertical vibration that cause driving fatigue. In this paper, a integrated seat control system including several air-bladders and sensor signals (steering angle, speed, acceleration) is investigated. The system control the pressure of seat side bolsters's bladders in the curved roads and the pressure of seat cushion's bladders according to road roughness. The purpose of the control system is to improve the ride comfort of seat.

Many engineers are trying to predict seat comfort, but these predictions are very difficult. The automobile seat is composed of the foam with the frame. Lumbar support is very important part in car seat, also. Using data from a seat material property, pam-comfort program finds the factor that we will make a major parameter of seat comfort. On the basis of result knowledge of the analysis, we can evaluate the seat comfort factor and find the best way to solve it. Simulation program will be used to predict major parameter to seat comfort.
