Objective: The sensitivity of the AutoPap Primary Screening System with Location-Guided Screening (AutoPap LGS) for Identifying atypical cells in cervicovaginal smears was evaluated. Methods: Two hundred forty one slides with atypical cervical cytology randomly sampled were rescreened both manually and by the AutoPap LGS. The AutoPap LGS localized the atypical cells as 15 fields of view(FOVs), which were reexamined by manual review. The sensitivity was also evaluated in accordance with the cellularity of the smears. Results: The AutoPap LGS successfully processed 232 out of 241 slides. The sensitivity of the AutoPap LGS identifying the atypical cells in successfully processed slides was 97.4%(226/232). The false negative rate was 2.6%(6/232). There was no false negative case on high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) or squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) smears in the AutoPap LGS. The FOVs localized the diagnostic-atypical cells in 97.8%(221/226). The number of diagnostic-atypical FOVs was increased in higher-degree of atypical cytology. The AutoPap LGS localized the atypical cells in 100% of adequately cellular smears and in 92.5% even in low cellular smears. Conclusion: The AutoPap LGS showed relatively good sensitivity to detect atypical cells. It can be a valuable system to localize atypical cells, especially in HSIL or cancer slides, even in smears with low cellularity.

This study was focused on the risk assessment of whether radiofrequency electromagnetic fields generated by mobile phone is cytogenetically toxic or not. We conducted the effects of 835-MHz electromagnetic field (EMF) on DNA strand breaks in mouse thymic lymphoma L5178Y Tk±/- cells using alkaline comet assay. EMF frequency 835-MHz we chosen is one of the most popular communication frequency bands in Korean code-division multiple-access (CDMA) mobile phone system. The cells were exposed to 835-MHz EMF alone or 835-MHz EMF combined with cyclophosamide (CPA) or 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide (4NQO) at specific absorption rate (SAR) of 4.0W kg-1 for 24 and 48 hrs. DNA damage expressed as tail moment was increased more than two-fold after exposure to 835-MHz EMF for 24 and 48 hr. In particular, CPA for 48 hr and 4NQO for 24 hr enhanced notably the tail moment to 9-fold and 16-fold in the presence of 835-MHz EMF, respectively, compared to each single treatment. From these results, it appears that exposure to CDMA-mobile phone radiation at 835-MHz frequency may potentiate DNA strand breaks of mouse thymic lymphoma L5178Y Tk±/- cells under the defined conditions of this study.

단체는 짧은 생애동안 자신의 신념에 따라 언론과 펴 왔고 그 언론을 행동으로 실천하였음을 앞의 내용에서 알 수 있었다. 그의 불굴의 정신과 민족적 자존심은 우리 조선 민족의 자존심을 상징한다고 할만하며 우리가 본받아 지켜야 할 정신이라고 본다. 그러나 단재의 국수적 정신과 주체적 정신을 우리의 자존심으로 받아들이되 그의 비타협적인 태도와 배타적 성격은 그 당시로나 현재적 입장에서나 비판받아야 할 점이라고 본다. 단재가 상해 임정의 협의회에서나 독립운동가들의 국민대표회의에서 보여준 비타협적인 태도는 그의 대의명분이 백번 옳았다 하더라도 다수의 의견에 귀 기울이고 자기 중장을 포기할 줄도 아는 유연한 포용의 자세가 결여되어 있다는 점은 그의 커다란 결점이라 하겠다. 게다가 현실적으로 막강한 근대적 무기와 군사력을 갖추고 우리나라 안에서 이미 터를 잡고 있는 일본제국을 과연 중국 망명 독립운동가들의 자주적 무력 투쟁만으로 독립이 가능하였겠는가 하는 의문을 갖게 되며, 단재는 비현실적인 자신의 이상 속에서 영웅주의에 취한 나머지 당대의 현실적 상황파악에는 그의 통찰이 미치지 못하였다고 지적할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 그의 지나친 유아독존적 태도는 이승만의 그것에 상응하는 것으로서 그 두 사람의 태도 모두를 우리는 결코 긍정하기 어렸다. 그의 창작소설에 나타나는 창작적 방법은 분명히 현실적 사건을 다루고 있음에도 불구하고 다분히 인간정신의 내면에서 일어나는 환상적 상징적 수법으로 형상화되어 있으며, 개연성 있는 사건구조가 아니라 현실적 상황과는 동떨어진 낭만적 경향과 영웅주의적 성격이 강하게 나타난다. 요컨대 단재의 문학창작은 그의 꿈과 현실의 괴리에서 오는 현실에 대한 불만의 토로이며 그의 꿈과 이상의 한 표현이라 할 수 있겠다. 마지막으로, 단재의 의식상태는 아직 개인을 인정하지 않고 있으며 오로지 국가를 되찾는 일에 그의 모든 의식이 집중되어 있음을 볼 수 있었다.
