Purpose: This study aimed to identify the characteristics of an intervention program for school-aged overweight and obese children through an integrated literature review. Methods: We used five databases (MEDLINE [PubMed], CINAHL, Embase, DBpia, and RISS) to search for studies published between January 1, 2013, and April 18, 2018. The studies were reviewed according to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Finally, nine studies were selected and classified into three types: school-based, community-based, and home-based. Specific intervention methods were identified, including exercise, diet, exercise and diet, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Conclusion: Most studies have shown the effectiveness of obesity intervention programs. However, the variables, tools, and methods of measuring the effectiveness of intervention varied, making it difficult to compare the intervention studies. Therefore, future studies should develop objective and integrated measurement tools and evaluate the effects with long-term follow-up.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristics of intervention programs for internet/smartphone addiction among adolescents through an integrative literature review. Methods: We searched MEDLINE(PubMed), CINAHL, Embase, DBpia, RISS, and KISS using a combination of “Internet or phone*,” “addicti*,” “adolescent,” and “intervention or program or therapy.” The searched studies were reviewed according to the criteria and an integrative literature review was conducted on the 14 selected papers published from January 1, 2013 to November 14, 2017. Results: Through the integrative review and analysis, a total of four attributes of interventions and their effects were derived. First, the number of group-focused interventions was significantly higher than that of individual- focused ones. Second, the interventions addressed various aspects of adolescents’ problems while considering the complex nature of addiction problems. Third, there was a bias for region and sexual ratio. Lastly, most studies were actively conducted in community-based counseling or psychology settings. Conclusion: It is necessary to find more effective methods for addressing internet/smartphone addiction among adolescents through multidisciplinary approaches, including the consideration of various cultural and gender characteristics. This study provides a basis for developing future programs addressing addiction problems among adolescents.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop the Korean Prototype of Wellness Index (KP-WI) and identify the relationship between Koreans’ health characteristics and wellness. Methods: The Wellness Index (WI) was translated into the primitive version of the KP-WI, considering the Koreans’ culture and health behavior. It was administered to 223 service industrial employees at one workplace along with the Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and Stress Questionnaire-Short Form. Data analyses included item-total correlation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Results: The primitive version was modified to KP-WI based on the item-total correlation. The items considered to lower the reliability of the KP-WI were eliminated. Cronbach’s ⍺ for each subscale ranged from .857 to .939. Perceived stress and negative emotions correlated significantly with wellness measured by KP-WI (r=-.29, p<.001; r=-.27, p<.001). Positive emotions correlated significantly with wellness (r=.60, p<.001). Conclusion: This study contributes to the development of Korean-style wellness indexes by developing a prototype and exploring the factors related to wellness.
