This study was to explore the participation constraints of women’s basketball clubs in Korea in perspective of a korean student studied in the U. S. A. The autography was used for the naturalistic description of a researcher’s experiences and emotions. I have examined my own experience as an international student and a participant in women’s basketball club in Korea through self-recall, self-reflection, self-observation, participant observation, research journal, depth interview, and document analysis. The key findings were as follows. First, korean women were mentally afraid of approaching the basketball clubs because their self-pressures and embarrassments were greater than their curiosities and interests about basketball. Second, having irregular working hours, having pressure to achieve better grades, and having stress for getting jobs were shown to be as mental burdens for women who were participating in the Women’s basketball clubs. Third, the physical constrains from marriage, pregnance, birth, and infant care were the main causes of married women’s quitting women’s basketball clubs. Forth, the economical burden was the big reason for the college students and unemployed women.
