        페이즐리 오너먼트를 활용한 패션텍스타일 디자인의 현대적 특징 연구

        This study derives the modern characteristics of the paisley ornament through an analysis of the paisley ornament shown in fashion since the 2010s based on a theoretical review of the paisley ornament used in Kashmir India shawls for artistic inspiration in the fashion-textile field. It classified the paisley ornament in fashion since the 2010s into types of ‘basic structure of body and coif’, ‘abnormal paisley ornament shapes’, ‘complex structure of paisley ornament’, ‘complex structure with other motif’, ‘a pair of symmetrical reflection motif’, ‘regular of repetitive arrangement’, ‘complex arrangement of irregularity and regularity’ and ‘free arrangement of irregularity’. A comparative analysis with the historical paisley ornament shows that paisley ornaments have contemporary characteristics like ‘Bisector structure of centerline in criterion of the body’, ‘Composite structure of extended 1-repeat’, and ‘Free structure of engineered placement’. A modern design was inspired by the historical art forms; however, it was used in free utilization of motifs and patterns in terms of size, direction, proportion and space. These were the expression of a design identity that originated from the aesthetic ability and career of a designer as well as the technology of computer programs for the improvements in time and cost efficiency.

        창의성과 윤리성을 표상하는 패션 텍스타일 디자인의 현대적 창작원리 연구

        본 연구는 아리스토텔레스의 시학을 통해 예술의 창작원리를 고찰하고, 이를 통해 디자인을 공부하는 학생들과 새내기 디자이너가 지녀야 할 창의적인 디자인 행위와 윤리적인 디자인 행위의 논의를 통하여 현대디자인의 창작원리를 도출한다. 디자인 행위의 목적은 ‘볼거리’를 제공하여 대중에게 감정을 일으키는 것으로서, 시학 이론과 현대 패션 텍스타일 디자인의 제작과정을 대입하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다; 오늘날 디지털에서 일어나는 모방, 복제, 도용, 차용은 디자인 마켓의 수준을 고려하여 활용한다. 현대적이고 창의적인 컬렉션을 위하여 전통과 혁신의 기술을 연구하고 투자한다. 예술기법의 도용과 차용은 보편적으로 인식되는 형태의 구조를 파괴하여 창의적인 결과물을 위한 시각적 조작의 표현 방법으로써 디자인에 유용한 기법을 탐구한다. 창작자가 2차 리서치의 모방, 복제, 차용, 도용으로 타협하는 디자인 행위는 본인의 혁신적 아이디어를 손상하고 독창성을 잃어버리는 결과를 가져오므로 신념 있는 본능적 재현을 우선시한다. 본 연구에서는 밀접한 상호연계의 패션과 섬유 세계에서 좋은 디자인 결과를 얻기 위해서는 창작자의 디자인적 사고와 표현을 믿고 끊임없이 실험하는 인내심이 필요하며, 이는 곧 창의성과 윤리성을 표상하는 방법임을 제시한다. This study aims to examine principles of artistic creation through Aristotelian poetics and to derive the creative principles of modern design through a discussion of creative and ethical design activities contemporary fashion-textile designers and students must engage in. The activities have the same potential as poetics’ aim of providing the public with ‘spectacles’ and arousing their feelings. Analyzing contemporary fashion design processes and poetics led to the following results: research on imitation, reproduction, appropriation, and borrowing, which happen in digital space, should be utilized considering the appropriate market level. For a creative collection, researching and investing in traditional and innovative technologies is necessary. A designer must research expressive techniques by borrowing and appropriating the descriptive principles of art to derive ideas that go beyond universally recognized and static structural forms. While these design techniques aid a designer, it’s important to creatively experiment within the design process to avoid compromises that weaken a designer’s innovative ideas and original identity. This study suggests that in order to obtain good design results in the closely interconnected fashion and textile world, it is necessary to trust the creator's design thinking and expression and have the patience to constantly experiment, which is a way to represent creativity and ethics.

        패션 박물관의 전시기획 사례연구 -영국 배스 패션뮤지엄의 ‘올해의 드레스’를 중심으로-

        ‘Dress of the Year’ by the UK Fashion Museum in Bath suggested an ideal role for a fashion museum and created fashion history along with the development of fashion journalism. A case study and literature research identified the characteristics of this scheme in terms of roles and functions for a fashion museum and defined them as: suggestion of collection cases, data construction for fashion research, and contribution to fashion critique. First, it suggested a good case of collection process. The ‘Dress of the Year’ creates a museum identity with a collection selected by designated journalist reviewer every year in order to maintain and strengthen a virtuous cycle. Second, it contributed to the accumulation of data for fashion research. The vast amount of data accumulated for more than 50 years became a fashion history that shows the change of fashion trends with a value of public confidence. It presented the possibilities of fashion research in various perspectives. Third, it contributed to the development of fashion criticism. The development of fashion journalism was conducted on the initiative of ‘Dress of the Year’ as well as contributed to the birth and growth of fashion journalists.
