        혈부축어탕이 파골세포 분화 및 골흡수에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Hyeolbuchugeo-tang (HBC) on Osteoporosis. Methods: We induced RAW 264.7 cells to differentiate to Osteoclasts by RANKL and treated RANKL-induced RAW 264.7 cells with HBC (0, 150, 350, $700{\mu}g/ml$). To measure osteoclast differentiation and activation, we counted TRAP (+) MNCs and measured mRNA expressions of its related genes (TRAP, MMP-9, cathepsin K, NFATc1, c-Fos, MITF, iNOS, COX-2, TNF-${\alpha}$) by RT-PCR. To assess bone resorption, the Bone pit formation were examined under a microscope. Results: HBC decreased TRAP (+) MNCs and inhibited mRNA expressions of TRAP, MMP-9, cathepsin K, NFATc1, c-Fos, MITF in osteoclast. And HBC inhibited Bone pit formation. Conclusions: HBC inhibited osteoclast differentiation and activation and bone resorption. Taken together, these results indicate that HBC might have potentials for prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis.

        계지복령환의 효능에 대한 국내외 실험연구 동향 분석

        Objectives: Gyejibokryeong-hwan (GBH), a traditional Korean herbal medicine, has been widely used for the treatment of the blood stasis syndrome. This study is purposed to analyze the experimental research trend of GBH in Korea for developing further research plan. Methods: A search of Korean research database-Oasis, RISS and KISS- and Pubmed was carried out for publications until 2015, for the words, ``Guizhifulingwan``, ``Gyejibokryeonghwan``, or ``Keishibukuryogan``. Then study selection is conducted according to PRISMA guidelines, studies not related or using modified formula or administered for human are excluded, 48 studies are included in this review, finally. We analyzed studies by research method, subject, outcome measure, and result of the study. Results: There were 31 in vivo studies about the effect of GBH on platelet aggregation, anti-oxidant, blood viscosity, and hypercholesterolemia, etc. 12 in vitro studies were about the effect of GBH on the cervical carcinoma, chronic kidney disease, uterine myoma, hepatocarcinoma, atherosclerosis, cancer chemo-prevent. 9 ex vivo studies were about the effect of GBH on the platelet aggregation, chronic kidney disease, ovaulatory disorder, and rheumarthritis. Conclusions: We proposed the translational research of GBH involving scientific discoveries and developing practical applications by investigating the concept of blood stasis syndrome in terms of current physiopathological mechanism.

        백굴채 추출물이 MDA-MB-231 유방암 세포주에서 세포사멸에 미치는 효과

        Objectives: In this study, we investigated the anti-proliferative and apoptosis inducing effect of water extract of Chelidonium majus (CM) on human breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231. Methods: The MTT assay was used to assess cell proliferation. The expression of apoptosis related gene was assessed by quantitative Real-time PCR. Cell apoptosis detected by flow cytometry using Annexin-V/PI staining. Results: Our data revealed that CM inhibited the cell growth in a dose dependent manner (0, 62.5, 125, 250, 500 μg/ml). CM increased mRNA expression of pro-apoptotic genes Bax, caspase-3, and caspase-9. Annexin-V/PI staining assays revealed that apoptosis-induced cell death increased in a dose-dependent manner in cells. Conclusions: CM induces cell death in MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell and shows potentials for use in cancer therapy as apoptosis-inducing agent.

        한방치료를 통한 월경주기 회복 후 배란유도를 통해 임신과 출산에 성공한 조기난소부전 환자 치험 1례

        bjectives: This study aims to research correlation of the malondialdehyde level in urinalysis with cold hypersensitivity. Methods: We studied 128 patients visiting ○○ Korean Hospital from March,2013 to May, 2013. The subjects were categorized into two groups: cold hypersensitivity group (n=46) and control group (n=79). Patients in cold hypersensitivity group had been stressed because of severe cold hypersensitivity. First, We investigated the difference of the level of malondialdehyde between two groups. In addition, temperature of the two points, ST32 and LR3, was measured by using Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) to find out whether the extent of cold hypersensitivity is related to the level of malondialdehyde. Results: There is no different characteristics between two groups. The average of malondialdehyde in cold hypersensitivity group (1613.15±1260.71) is significantly higher than in control group (1170.01±1015.66)(p=0.04). But there is no correlation between level of malondialdehyde and the extent of cold hypersensitivity (r=-0.22,p=0.13). Conclusions: Although the level of malondialdehyde in cold hypersensitivity group is higher than in control group, there is no significant correlation between level of malondialdehyde and the extent of cold hypersensitivity.

        보허탕가감방과 침구치료로 호전된 자궁절제술 환자 치험 3례

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Boheo-tang Gagambang (BG) with acupuncture and moxa treatments on the after-effects of hysterectomy. Methods: Three women who were undertaken a hysterectomy within a month were enrolled in this study. They complained of abdominal pain, low back pain, nausea, fatigue, etc. BG was prescribed 3 times a day and the acupuncture and moxa treatments were applied to decrease pain and improve the symptoms. Results: After the acupuncture and moxa treatments with BG, symptoms were markedly decreased. Conclusions: These clinical cases indicated that BG were effective in the treatments for patients who were undertaken a hysterectomy.

        임신 중 한약 복용 환자에 대한 후향적 연구

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out the health condition and the etiology in oriental medicine of the high school girls menstrual disorders by Sasang constitution. Methods: The data from the 795 participants were collected using a structured menstrual history questionnaire. Based on the survey responses, we had 97 adolescents with menstrual disorder as the test group and 97 adolescents without menstrual disorder as the control group. The clinical trials subjects were asked to respond to another questionnaire for identifying their constitutional types and respond to the DSOM and undergo Inbody. We identified significant variables for dysmenorrhea from comparison between the test and control group. Results: The DSOM test showed that the scores of qi stagnation, static blood, cold, dampness, phlegm, heart, kidney were significantly higher in dysmenorrhea, scant menstruation, menstruation at irregular intervals. For the Sasang constitution, there is a difference on the cause of the outbreak. Soyangin from yin deficiency, dryness and blood deficiency is associated with menstrual disorders. Taeumin from cold, dampness and qi deficiency is associated with menstrual disorders. Soeumin from heart, qi stagnation, static blood and spleen is associated with menstrual disorders. Conclusions: For the Sasang constitution, there is a difference on the cause of the outbreak. The result of a comparison of the test and control groups showed that there`s no relevance to the body fat mass and body fat percentage with menstrual irregularities.

        비만증에 대한 부항요법의 중의학 임상연구 고찰

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical studies of cupping therapy for obesity in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and to evaluate the effects of it for use in practice. CNKI were searched for controlled studies on cupping therapy for obesity that were published up to September 2015. The review included 9 randomized controlled trials, and we analyzed the objectives, process of interventions, outcome measurements, and main results of the studies. We found that cupping therapy combined with acupuncture, electric acupuncture or thread embedding have more effectively decreased body mass index, waist circumference and lipid profile than acupuncture, electric acupuncture or thread embedding only have done. In the reviewed studies, cupping therapy treated in the region of abdomen, upper and lower limbs, and dorsal part operating on 5 to 25 minutes for one time with total 6 to 45 times of schedule. In this study, we demonstrated that cupping therapy combined with acupuncture, electric acupuncture or thread embedding could have effectively used for treating obesity. Further evaluation and clinical researches are required to establish evidence in practice.

        황칠나무 줄기 추출물의 MCF-7과 MDA-MB-231 유방암 세포주에 대한 세포증식억제 효과

        Objectives: Dendropanax morbifera is known as a tree that has been used in traditional medicine for various diseases. However, its biological activities in cancer have not yet been clearly elucidated. In this study, we investigated the anti-cancer effects of water extract of Dendropanax morbifera (DP) on 2 human breast cancer cell lines (estrogen dependent MCF-7 and estrogen independent MDA-MB-231). Methods: The MTT assay and flow cytometry were used to assess cell proliferation, along with cell cycle analysis. Nitric oxide production was detected by Griess assay. The expression of apoptosis related gene was assessed by quantitative real-time PCR. Results: Our data revealed that DP inhibits the cell growth in a dose dependent manner (0, 50, 100, 250, and 500 μg/ml) of both estrogen independent MDA-MB-231 and estrogen dependent MCF-7 breast cancer cells. Also, LPS induced nitric oxide production was significantly reduced by DP. Cell cycle analysis showed an increased G1 phase in the MCF-7 cell and G2/M phase in the MDA-MB-231 cell. DP decreased mRNA expression of apoptotic suppressor gene Bcl-xL, and increased mRNA expression of pro-apoptotic genes. DP increased mRNA expression of p21, and Rip1 in both cell. And DP decreased mRNA expression of survivin in the MCF-7 cell. Conclusions: Taken together, these results indicate that DP extract are source of anti-cancer potential and could be developed botanical drug.

        다낭성난소증후군 변증도구 개발을 위한 기초연구

        Objectives: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is characterized by ovulatory disorder, polycystic ovaries and clinical or laboratory hyperandrogenemia, also associated with an increased risk of various other long-term complications. The purpose of this study is to develop a standard instrument of pattern identifications in Korean medicine for PCOS. Methods: We retrieved the patterns and symptoms from Korean and Chinese literatures which mentioned pattern identifications of PCOS. In order to develop the instrument, we took the consultation from the advisor committee based on the collected informations from literatures. Finally the questionnaire of pattern identification for PCOS was developed. Results: 1) 5 pattern identifications and 53 symptoms and signs were selected from 20 references. 2) We obtained the mean weights which reflected the standard deviations from each symptom of the pattern by 15 experts. 3) We designed the Korean medicine Instrument on pattern identification for PCOS. It was composed of 61 questions, 44 of patient-reported format and 17 of assessor-reported format. Conclusions: Instrument of pattern identification for PCOS was developed through experts` discussion. Further study is required to identify the validity and reliability of this pattern identification instrument for PCOS.

        독활기생탕가미방이 Dexamethasone 처리 조골세포에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: In this study, the author aimed to evaluate the effects of water extract of Dokwhalgisaeng-tang Gamibang (DGG) on osteoblast proliferation in murine calvarial cells. Methods: The osteoblast separated from murine calvariae was cultivated and evaluated the cell function. After the addition of DGG on the culture medium, we determined the effect of DGG on the cell proliferation, protein synthesis, alkaline phosphatase activity, collagen synthesis, and cell viability of the cultivated osteoblast in the presence of dexamethasone. Results: DGG increased the survival rate, proliferation, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, protein synthesis and collagen synthesis of rat calvarial osteoblast in the presence of dexamethasone. Conclusions: DGG might improve the osteoporosis resulted from augmentation of osteoblast proliferation.
