Legg-Calves-Perthes disease is a self limited disease of the hip occuring in children characterized pathologically by avascular necrosis of proximal femoral epiphysis, clinically by long duration of course and high incidence than other joints. The object of treatment of Legg-Calves-Perthes disease is to shorten the clinical course and minimize, or prevent residual deformity. Recently, gaining proper containment of the femoral head by innominate osteotomy or varisation osteotomy has been introduced popularly. In this study, 14 patients of Legg-Calves-Perthes were treated by innominate bone osteotomy at Chungnam National University Hospital from March, 1978 to Ausust 1982 were analysed and satisfying results were obtained. 1. Among the fourteen patients, Eleven were male and three were female. The sex incidence were higher in male than female(The ratio was 3.7:1). 2. By Catterall's classification, There were group II (3), group lII (8), and group IV(3) on their initial visit. It was most common of stage II (9)in progression stage. 3. The migration index was decreased from 2.69 in preoperative stage to average 1.97 in postoperative 1.25 years. The spherical quotient was increased from average 81 to average 92 in postoperative 1.25 years. 4. It was shown that the serial analysis of the migration index and the spherical quotient of the femoral head was important factor of the course of disease.
