작업기억력과 같은 개인차 변인이 외국어교육에 미치는 영향은 상대적으로 덜 연구가 되어왔다. 개인차 변인의 중요성을 고려하여, 이 연구는 작업기억력의 영향력을 영어합성어의 의미합성을 통해 탐색하고자 한다. 영어모국어화자(L1) 집단과 고급수준의 영어학습자(L2) 집단이 실시간 의미 적합도 판단과제에 참여하였다. 이 과제에서 참여자들은 juice stone과 같이 영어에서 의미적으로 허용되지 않은 단어 연쇄를 가능한 한 빠르고 정확하게 판단하였다, 이러한 의미 차단과정의 정확도와 속도가 연산 폭 과업으로 측정된 작업기억력과 관련성이 있는지를 탐색하였다. 선형혼합모형 분석결과 L2집단의 정확도 점수는 작업기억력과 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났지만, 반응시간은 관련이 없는 것으로 나타났다. L1 집단에서는 정확도와 반응시간 모두 작업기억력과 관련성을 갖지 않았다. 외국어교육에서 개인차 변수에 대한 중요성에 대한 논의가 강조되었다. Despite the general consensus of the importance of individual difference in foreign language education, little is known the role of individual difference variables including working memory capacity. This study aims to examine the role of working memory capacity in sematic integrations of L2 compound comprehension. Along with an operation span task, L1 and L2 group participated in an online semantic acceptability task where the participants judged the acceptability of semantically ill-formed noun-noun compounds as quickly and accurately as possible. Three experimental conditions were manipulated by adding homonyms either to modifiers or to heads. Linear mixed effect regression revealed that the accuracy scores of L2 group in the experimental conditions were associated with the working memory scores; however, the response time were not correlated with the operations span measures. The importance of individual difference variables in foreign language education was highlighted.

This study reexamines Jiang(2000, 2002, 2004)’s the same translation effect, in which non-native speakers tend to respond faster to a pair of words having the same translation in their native language than to counterparts containing the different translation. This semantic overgeneralization has been assumed to indicate that L1 meanings are associated with L2 forms on an L2 lexical developmental stage. Motivated by some methodological considerations, this study is aimed to re-investigate the role of the first language(L1) in connecting form and meaning in a second language(L2), particularly using a priming experimental paradigm(i.e., a single presentation framework) that taps more automatic processing. Linear mixed-effect models revealed that the same translation effect emerged only with non-native speakers, even in the more automatic processing condition. The role of L1 in form-meaning connections of L2 vocabulary acquisition was discussed.
Ambiguity Advantage or Disadvantage? Lexical Access to Second Language Homonymy

Recent first language (L1) psycholinguistic research (e.g., Rodd et al. 2002) has challenged a robust finding known as ambiguity advantage effect, in which words having multiple meanings are accessed faster than counterparts having a single meaning. This paper investigates whether second language (L2) learners shows the ambiguity advantage effect when comparing words having multiple meanings and few senses (e.g., bat) with words that have a single meaning and few senses (e.g., boy). In a visual lexical decision task, an L1 group and an L2 group showed opposite patterns in processing semantically ambiguous words. The L1 group processed ambiguous words slower than unambiguous words (i.e., ambiguity disadvantage effect) whereas the L2 group accessed ambiguous words faster than unambiguous words (i.e., ambiguity advantage effect). The findings are discussed in relation to the possible differences in the architecture of the L1 and the L2 mental lexicons.

지금까지의 재난대책이 대응 및 복구에 초점이 맞춰져 있었다면, 앞으로는 첨단시스템을 이용해서 재해경감 체제를 갖추기 위해서 다양한 노력이 시도되고 있고 이를 위한 연구와 프로젝트가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 긴급구조 시스템의 지능화 핵심인 분산 에이전트의 동작에 관한 방법론을 제시하고자 한다. 분산 에이전트중의 하나인 Broker를 긴급구조 시스템의 중심으로 내세워 자치적인 프로세스를 이용해 상황을 인지하고 그에 따라 최적의 신속하고 합리적인 서비스가 사용자에게 제공되도록 서비스 제공자들과 협상을 전개한다. 보다 효과적인 시스템 구현을 위하여 온톨로지를 이용한 상황인지와 협상 모델을 제시하고자 한다.

Extending previous research findings based on offline measurers such as word association tasks, this study is aimed to estimate the strength of word associations in the second language lexicon by operationalizing the strength as the reaction times to the experimental stimuli. Of particular interest is whether non-native speakers with advanced level of a second language has similar quantitative patterns to native speakers. On a computerized semantic related judgement task. advanced learners of English (L2 group) and native English speakers (L1 group) responded to a series of word pairs manipulated in two experimental conditions (synonymously related: artist - painter; functionally related: door - gate) and one controlled condition (unrelated: bread - tablet). Linear mixed-effect regressions revealed that both L1 and L2 group responded faster significantly to the two experimental conditions than to the control condition. However, significant interactions were found in the contrast between the two groups and two comparisons of experimental conditions (i.e., synonymous vs unrelated; synonymous vs functional) while the interaction between the groups and one comparison (i.e., functional vs unrelated) was not significant; thus, the L1 group and the L2 group did not show comparable quantitative patterns of word associations in some conditions. Implications for the L2 word network were discussed in relation to the strength of word associations.
제2 언어 명시적, 암시적 문법지식과 자가평가와의 관련성

Second language research has widely adopted L2 self-rated assessment as a use-ful research tool. Yet, there is no consensus on what types of L2 knowledge can be measured by L2 self-rated assessment. Taking L2 grammatical knowledge as an instance, this study aims to explore the relationship among three grammatical measures including self-rated proficiency of L2 grammar and two types of L2 gram-matical knowledge (explicit and implicit knowledge). The grammatical knowledge of fifty Korean EFL learners was tested via (1) 10-point Likert-scale based self-rated grammar measure, (2) explicit grammatical knowledge test (metalinguistic knowl-edge test),and (3) implicit grammartical knowledge test (timed grammaticality judgement test). A series of regression analyses indicated that L2 self-rated grammar measure are strongly associated with L2 explicit knowledge and L2 implicit knowl-edge in ungrammatical judgement conditions. The implication of this was discussed from L2 research method perspective.
